    Just bought this! Waiting on delivery but why did you choose this over the Hobie equivalent?

      Awesome! Hope you enjoy it. I went with this model mostly because it’s inflatable and kind of a paddle board/kayak hybrid. So I will get more uses out of it than just fishing. We like to take it out on our boat so the kids can play while at the sandbar, easy storage and of course easy equip with the accessories when I decide to go fishing

      The reason I'm going with the Bote instead is the pedal drive and instant reverse. I had a Hobie and didn't like it as well for fishing and needing to reverse while fighting a fish. With the Hobie (If it has a 180 drive) you need to drop something to be able to pull the cable..

      @@kenjepsen4579 I like the pedal drive a lot! Not having reverse would be tough, I feel like I have a lot of control even in windy conditions. One thing I can’t get over is the inflatable seat. I spend most of the day trying to get it adjusted and haven’t figured it out. I’m at the point where I’m going to try and strap a different kayak seat.

      @@guyjsx on the inflatable seat I found exactly where I wanted it adjusted and put 2 metal U clamps on the straps so they don’t change. I also adjusted them pretty tight meaning the back basically leaning forward so when I put pressure on it leaning back it’s perfect

      That’s for the Bixpy motor

      @@gearproguide you attach that with a Fin adapter or something I didn't see it on your rudder.

    • @gearproguide
      @gearproguide  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@kaykwok8267 yes they make different adapters for the different models of paddle boards. BOTE brands which is what I use mostly uses a slide lock adapter. So I have to remove the middle fin and replace it with the Bixpy motor

      Have you tried the efin propeller set up? Can a peddle drive from another kayak work with this?

    • @gearproguide
      @gearproguide  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Kayakmom9 no I have tried the efin. I’ll have to check it out. I don’t think you can mount a peddle drive from another kayak on the BOTE. It has a pin and 3 locking slides that secure it. Another peddle drive might fit in the hole but not sure how you will secure it good enough to put force on it.

    Just curious why buy an inflatable with its many disadvantages if you aren't going to take advantage of the main reason to buy one? Leaving it inflated You might as well have bought a regular kayak or paddle board. I mean sure it's a little lighter to move around but being a grown man that shouldn't be a deciding factor.

      Good question, really just to have the option for travel and storage. I do have an irocker ultra inflatable paddle board that I do deflate each time and have taken on vacations, just haven’t broken down this one because of all the accessories I have on it. Also when it comes to hard paddle boards I don’t think you can get one with a pedal drive and all the optional fishing accessories. Kayak yes, there are tons of options out there.

      What’s being a grown man got to do with anything? What a backward Neanderthal way of thinking. Inflatable sup are more stable. Even grown men like lightweight, stable paddle boards.
