In this we become dragons, our desire for the dice of legend can only be filled by mockery of lesser dice. Piles on piles we lay upon but they do not fill the void that only the glory of the true dice can fill.
I was at an adventurer's league session a few days ago and another guy and I realized our new sets were from the same seller. He'd gotten them from Amazon and asked if I could give him the actual website, and we both have new sets in mind now (also my wife REALLY loved the iridescent frosted glass set he had)
I'm proud to say I am at stage 3, but i kinda skipped stage 2 to get there. Also I am currently trying my hardest not to get to stage 4, as I am still a student, and really need my money for other things. Also never named any of them though.
I haven't been part of an active campaign in so long, but every time I swing by my local game store, I can't help but get some dice . . . That, and my in-laws got me two separate sets of unique dice for Christmas this year.
At one point, I had so much extra dice (most of them were given to me over the years from various sources) that I ended up donating them to an online friends college Tabletop RPG club. They had just started up, had about a dozen members but only about 2-3 of them had their own dice. Was able to donate a full 10 sets of dice, plus a bunch of extra d6 and d8s.
I thought my dice didn’t have names, then I realized that all of the ones I regularly use are associated with a specific character. Over 150 sets, and about half have names.
Stage 1: learning dice come in a variety of colors Stage 2: buying you own set of metal/expensive dice Stage 3: naming individual die Stage 4: the mega dice bag full of dice you don't trust people touching Stage 5: Full on dice goblin
Level 6: You now have a set of semi-precious gem stone dice, precious gemstone dice, bone dice, one set of solid steel dice, and one set of either silver, gold, or even olatinum dice. You find yourself sleeping ON the dice and your skin is turning scaly...you have graduated to Dice Dragon. Congratulations!
I'm a Dice Beholder. All my dice have to meet my very specific aesthetic criteria. My horde may not be as large as a dragon's, but I cherish every single piece within it.
I've managed to restrain myself to only have one set of regular dice and one mini set that i can wear as a necklace, but by george those baked beans ones are so darn tantalizing 😅

Two or three months into dnd now. 5 sets yet. And my collection is constantly growing. Today I bought blood splatter dice! I also have galaxy dice and lava dice and flower dice and hell dice, and one set that's a gift for a friend but I'm working on his dice pouch rn
You can't truly call yourself a dice goblin until you own at least three golfball-sized solid metal d100 "table annihilators" and a separate bag of odd numbered specials.
I own a few styles of D20s at the moment from buying in bulk sets. Opaque, translucent, glitter infused, and marbled. So far the translucent are the only ones that I really care for because they look like gems. The others I would willingly share and not care about getting back.
Indeed! Stage 6 is when you have a secret set of dice that no one can see or touch, LOL!
Hah, I'm a stage 8 dice goblin.
Ha I'm only on stage two rn but i recently bought a set that i got specifically for a character a character I'm playing in a one shot next weekend and the dm is the only other person to see them.

@@Thatguy223-vc4wb fortunately for me, none of my mates want to touch my dice. Or let me touch theirs. They claim I curse every die I touch.
Stage 6... You now have a custom mold to make your own sets of dice out of resin. You dont even sell them, theyre just for you
Ohhh dangerous lol. I have pondered it, but have enough useless hobbies lol. Props tho, seems fun!

Dice king my ass, I can hear the dice hitting empty floor! THE DICE KING CANT MOVE FOR DICE !

Level 6: Laura Bailey

The voice actress?

He is the dice king praise be amen
Currently a stage 3 on my way to stage 4
Glad to be surrounded by fellow Math Rock appreciators
I’m stage 4 rn. Not bad enough that I’m like “you can borrow some dice, but uh, I don’t have that many extra” tho.
I mean, in some games it's useful if you can roll like 20+ D6 at once instead of one by one....
Or like 40...
I don't even play DND and I want to be a dice goblin so bad, the autistic urge to own shiny dice is too strong.
Remember, it's only a problem if you think it's a problem or something like that.
The autistic urge to own EVERYTHING shiny is too strong.
Shiney rock go *CLACK CLACK*
Understandable, I feel the same way. Except I do play dnd. And I have a lot of dice.
I downloaded like 70 dice mods for Bg3 lol
Shiny rocks go clik-clak.
You know you're in the early stages when you start browsing for cool dice sets at midnight.

It's good to know there's still a stage past "Laura Bailey." 😂
metal dice on a wood table ouch
I am a level 7 dice goblin also known as a dice dragon.
Edit:Spelling
Stage 8 is basically having so much dice that you even eat them.
EAT YOUR F*CKING DICE, BRENNAN!
I can actually say I know people like this in my DnD group that are in these stages
I jumped straight to Stage 4
I'm proud to say I am at stage 3, but i kinda skipped stage 2 to get there.
Also I am currently trying my hardest not to get to stage 4, as I am still a student, and really need my money for other things. Also never named any of them though.
but, how do you get a good measurement if you dont know all the different tastes?
Stage 6: you are Laura bailey
My brother just got 70 dice for Christmas and its awakening something within me
borrower: why are there 3d8?
gifter: oh! i main clerics
Having a cubby of dice for each move your character can use so you never have to scrounge.
“I am the dice king, king of the dice!” “Dice goblins quiver before him!”
Every character gets a set of dice specifically for that character.
laura bailey definitely stage 5
I am the dice guardian, guardian of the dice all dms quiver before me
Stage 10 is going back to stage 2 but your dice are pure gold.
Brother when full dice dragon. Sleeping in a pile of dice
Idk man, Ive only got my original set from 6 years ago
Just pure purple plastic with gold numbers for me :)
A dice goblin is always either a rogue or a wizard.
Level 7 is when you become a dragons and hide out in a cave with your precious collection
Gotta fill a pool and dive in Scrooge McDuck style.

stage 6: It's mine, my own, my PRECIOUS.
“I AM THE DICE KING!” Too good
I'm in Stage 10. Full blown Dice Dragon. STAY AWAY FROM MY HOARD!
Now, only a dice goblin would have this many dice
I have a drawer full of dice and I feel called out
I thought my dice didn’t have names, then I realized that all of the ones I regularly use are associated with a specific character. Over 150 sets, and about half have names.
Stage 6 is years and years later when they're just sitting on your shelf and you're back to "hey does anybody have some dice?"
Stage 1: learning dice come in a variety of colors
Stage 2: buying you own set of metal/expensive dice
Stage 3: naming individual die
Stage 4: the mega dice bag full of dice you don't trust people touching
Stage 5: Full on dice goblin
Plot twist: The bag is filled with dice for other people, while my favorites are kept safe.

Level 6: "Hey I forgot my dice again, can I borrow yours?"
Seeing the metal dice rolled on a wood table made my heart sink
love the subtitles, "I'm the ice skating"
I'm a Dice Beholder. All my dice have to meet my very specific aesthetic criteria. My horde may not be as large as a dragon's, but I cherish every single piece within it.
You need enough for a fireball at least, so 8 sets. If you're really going for it you need enough for a meteor swarm, so 40 sets. :p
I am the dice king! Master of fate! Slave to the rng!
Look, that pound of miscellaneous dice is just sitting there waiting for me to buy it!

Can confirm that these stages are accurate… 😂
At 5 it goes from dice goblin to dice dragon 💀
Stage six is laura bailey
All hail the queen of the dice goblins, Laura Bailey

In the ever-present words in the front of my mind from a great friend named Gobby shiny math rocks go click clack
My friend had 3 custom d20s made of bone, metal, and precious stone. They were so cool and only brought once because they're too valuable.
Me "goddamnit we got another dice goblin over here"
Fun fact, each of these clips were taken a day apart from each other. The stages go by quite quickly
Stage 5 is at that point where you should be considered a dice dragon and the dice is your hoard.
At some point you acend from dice goblin to dice dragon.
When I started playing, I bought one of those "pound of dice" bags off Amazon, so I went straight to stage 4.
Stage 7: you have a vault made from an old abandoned ICBM silo half filled with dice, and you attempt to dive into it like Scrooge McDuck.
Stage 5 is beyond Diced Goblin. That is Dice Dragon.
I kinda wanna be in a kiddy pool full of dice just for the click clack.
The shiny math rocks make the click-clack sound!
Just wait until that one d20 defies you for the last time. I've lost so many dice to sledgehammers.
Stage 5 is when you slowly become a dice dragon
I am currently in stage 2. Very slowly transitioning to stage 3
I'll admit, besides naming them, I'm in stage 3. I have 3 sets of dice.
Stage 10 is dice dragon. You live in a cave, filled with dice, a mountain of dice, you sleep in dice, dream in dice, live in dice.
Past a point you become a dragon with a hoard
Stage 6: Does anybody have some dice I could borrow? I forgot mine at home.
I bought my first dice a decade before I started playing. 😅
You sir are a DICE DRAGON!
Actually on stage 3 rn, giving my dices names and talking to them like a madman
I’m like a dragon hording a pile of gold
If it wasn't a hassle I'd be making my own
Me: Dice king? Amateur...
You: what did you say there?!
Me, the Dice Gragon with 40 sets: AMATEUR
'I'm sorry, sir, but you have terminal dice goblin...'
'Is it fatal?' *dies of 200d20 financial damage*
That's funny cause that red and gold set actually comes with four d6 for some reason
At a certain point you go away from dice goblin and you enter the stage of dice dragon
I am dice goblin out of necessity due to a debilitating dice curse
I only have four sets, I'm still okay. I mean, five sets now...
Me having all my dice sets with their own bags all inside of a bigger bag bc I don't want them mixed up
it's dice to meet you
Stage 4: I don’t have many extra
Stage 5: I AM THE DICE KING!
that is quite the jump
Before I even played my first DND game, I already had a set of dice. When I joined my first game I immediately went to stage 3. I NEED more dice 🎲👁️👄👁️
As a person named Penelope, that caught me off guard
At level 20 you become a dice dragon.
I'm like in between stage 2 and 3 but also stage 6 with my polished solid metal set that I only bust out to make big plays... or dent the table.
I jumped straight to stage 4 thanks to the Chessex Pound of Dice, of which I bought two in 2016 and just kept adding to after that with actual sets.
Two or three months into dnd now. 5 sets yet. And my collection is constantly growing. Today I bought blood splatter dice! I also have galaxy dice and lava dice and flower dice and hell dice, and one set that's a gift for a friend but I'm working on his dice pouch rn
