I was so puzzled by this episode - thank you for sharing your thoughts!
No worries! Thank you for watching ❤️
you never fail to have super interesting commentary, they're always a joy to watch! keep it up man :D
you are a legend and I appreciate you very much ❤️
This episode was definitely my favorite in the season so far, my jaw was dropped as the ending occurred and I also thought the pub scene was extremely well done and truly showed an essence of hate for outsiders. This is also seen once the owner realizes that the woman could be a threat, she kicks Ruby out. 10/10 🎉
Glad you enjoyed it! The pub scene was easily the highlight for me too. Loved it!
Another W video bro is on a roll!! Sooner or later you are going to pop off great thumbnail btw :))
Thank you brother!! ❤️ Always happy to see your name in the comments :D
Yes, I definitely feel like it's more satisfying if the woman and old Ruby are different beings - which is helped by the fact that they are played by different actors in this episode. I really loved this one, but I can understand that a lot of people were annoyed by how much you did have to puzzle out your own answers to it - I can see how that is frustrating. For me, this has been my favourite episode of the series so far, probably because I seemed to enjoy being stimulated to puzzle out how this one worked rather than finding it annoying, plus the feelings in the episode are so well done. I had more fun with "Rogue", but you didn't like that one so much.
It was a shame for me because I was SUPER hyped for this one.. I just think the mystery angle was handled a little poorly. I’m all in favour of mystery servicing characters and such.. my favourite show is The Leftovers after all 😂 but I don’t think there was enough justification or at least rationale behind the mysteries.
BUT I am glad to hear so many people liked it, yourself included! I totally get why others did. Just wasn’t my kind of ambiguous stuff
These videos are quite the experience when you’re an outsider to all this stuff. Great job on this Greaves. 2:55 every conversation I have with you tbh
I appreciate you dropping in, even though you’re unfamiliar with Doctor Who. Honestly means the world to me man. Though I think you would really like this show.
Seeing as the new Season is a soft-reboot, I recommend checking it out!
Also funny joke. I chuckled 😂
Is there something to be said for the fact that there is no way Ruby would look as old as that as a 59 year old woman? If it said 60 years later it would have made sense.
Ah well she was actually 82 if my math is correct. Roger ap Gwilliam was elected in 2046, making Ruby 42 (as she was born in 2004) and then after that, it cuts to 40 years later - with her as an old woman.
It’s hard to recognise though, as I noted in the video, as her makeup effects weren’t too convincing before she was recast as the older woman.
would you say you fear that they are abandoning the fear of abandonment
I fear that is true 😂
It doesn't mean anything. It's lazy writing, a turd rolled in glitter. Great light horror, funny and creepy, but absolutely shite Doctor Who. How is this series Doctor Who when the Doctor is no longer the hero and doesn't solve anything?
The Doctor is definitely still the hero. He saves the day in The Church on Ruby Road, Space Babies and Boom - arguably even The Devil’s Chord.
@@MrGreaves Space babies, his action make no sense, Boom he most definitely does not save the day, the virus does something expected, the Doctor has no influence, it's a deus ex machina by definition, and in The Devils Chord he gets trapped in a drum after failing. He does NOTHING. Denying the facts is just silly, it's not a matter of opinion, it's there in front of you. I enjoyed Boom, even though it was dumb, The Devil's Chord was a blast and 73 yards was a wonderful piece of children' s horror, but good Doctor Who it ain't
@@aliservan7188 I’d have to disagree still about the Doctor not doing anything. He’s the one that initiates the virus in Boom - and I’m not a fan of the ending btw, as I highlight in my review of it. He does, even though nonsensical, save the day in Space Babies. And as I said, he arguably saves the day in The Devil’s Chord.. by which I mean inspiring the Beatles to play music again.
I’m personally not a huge fan of this era. It is undeniably Doctor Who but it’s missing a crucial DW feeling to me… But I’m enjoying it nonetheless. I hope you don’t think I’m just needlessly kissing its ass, but I genuinely do disagree with some of your talking points.
Not that you’re not entitled to them. The beauty of media is that everyone perceives it differently. This is all just my perspective on what you’ve commented :P
