  • Todays video I complete the Cadillac 4 piston brembo conversion for a C5 Corvette. This is the first I’ve done this conversion and very cost effective in comparison. Please be sure to like, subscribe, and share the channel.

    Do the 6 pistons not fit…?

    • @JWsGarage
      @JWsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They do fit, I have 6 pots on my black C5, these are a alternative for someone whom wants more performance driving characteristics without all the cost.

    • @JWsGarage
      @JWsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, the 6 piston can make for some difficult wheel figment issues where as the 4 will allow for more wheel options.

    • @JWsGarage
      @JWsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      More factory wheel barrel clearance is the problem. In most cases folks are upgrading wheels or generally already have before a big brake install.
      On my black C5 even those 6 piston calipers are shaved quite a bit to clear my iforge arrow 19’s in front, the rears have plenty of room.

    I read in the comments you have a c5 with C6 Z06 calipers. A great video would be comparing the performance of that setup and the 4 piston setup. I've always wanted the c6z brakes but like most American's these days I'm on a budget.

    • @JWsGarage
      @JWsGarage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That would be interesting comparison although both these cars are heavily modified the red one having a wider stance and contact patch where as my C5 is a built competition car with the comfort of AC etc.
      Be interesting on a stock platform to measure the gains beyond the obvious improvement.

      I had to put a 2mm ring between hub and caliper to center the caliper on the disc and and 20mm hub centric spacers to keep my Gumby wheels, I think 2mm spacers would have sufficed but went 20mm for the look.
