god i can’t wait to have one i absolutely can’t stop counting down the days i wish the days were faster and the money was coming in harder. i’m at around 7 grand saved i need about 7 more before i can comfortably get a c5 im 21 all i know is i need a corvette thanks for the video really love learning about these treasures
The little do hickie in the passenger seat foot well is called a LCM5 bypass sold by Compliance Parts for the steering column lock, which is a notorious problem in the c5, for which will also give the wait 10 second message on your DIC. Steering columns lock on these cars and you are unable to drive it.
FWIW, AGM batteries may not be the best choice in very hot climates (Phoenix, DFW, etc.) as the heat tends to shorten their life considerably. The AGM in our old Miata did not last 3 years. I'm staying with the old-fashioned flooded cell "sealed" style with an absorbent mat below in our '03. Great video, though!
Those are aftermarket rims. The originals were 17" front and 18" back, these are 18" front and 19" back. The key is keep the height the same. That way, the spedometer and the gear ratios don't change.
Also a splitter on the front is a bad idea being a bottom feeders. Also put a v2/coolit. On for remote high fan speed is a must plus you bust out more hp. Denser fuel means more hp and they run too hot stock.ive most every mod on my c5
@@theuploadzone6378 I understand. I daily drive a fourth gen Firebird that's pretty low. I hope to buy a C5 this spring so I'm searching up videos. Thanks for sharing.

keep working man, it will be worth it
I went straight out to my car and cleaned the radiator off. Found several leaves and two pieces of foam blocking parts of it. Good tip

I did run into that, luckily it happened in the garage. C5's sure are full of surprises.
Yep I did this a few years back. Stranded me at the gym. Never again!
On the door hinges I use motorcycle chain oil. It goes into the hinge thin and thickens up. Good video.
the info about the build sheet is super interesting

huh looks just like my Uncles old vette, was a 2003 with that white badge same color, had different chrome rims though.

This is good info !! I subbed!
I was wondering about #6!!

Lubing door hinges with grease is worthless. Use a liquid spray that penetrates and thickens is best . I’ve done this since I bought my first car .
2004 C5s use a top post battery.
Interesting thanks 😅
Nice. Did you make the skid plates or buy them?
Bought them. I would have made them longer and wider. This car isn't lowered, but still hits parking barriers no matter how careful I am.

The C5 is one of the nicest cars I have owned. Lots of performance, not too expensive.
Well done. C5 ownership will probably never happen for me up we can all live vicariously right
Column lock bypass is what that is called. The pull key and wait error has stranded thousands of C5 owners.
I removed my side ones
You really needed the BRIGHTNESS issue fixed?!?! Geez man...lol
Yes! It was getting really dim.
@@sinceyoudidntask3049 I hear ya. That is actually annoying when you need it in the daytime actually.
