My Father In Law 100th Birthday

Jorge Medeiros was born in New Bedford Massachusetts and when he was very young his whole family moved to São Miguel Azores. When he was seven years old, his mom passed away and the following year his dad passed away too. He was left with his older sister and two younger brothers. When he was 18 years old he moved back to New Bedford. He was drafted to the army during the Second World War. Once the war ended he became very sick, he was hospitalized for 3 months. The doctor advised him to move to a different climate and that’s when he moved to California. He has been living in California for over 74 years. He went back to Azores and met the love of his life, his beautiful wife Odilia. They married and made a home in Newman California. They build their lives and start their family. They had three daughters and one son. Life was very busy, Jorge worked in a creamery and his wife was in charge of their new adventure of raising chickens. Then he bought 10 acres of land and built new chicken houses and raised poultry for eggs. His wife and children were in charge of running the business. They picked the eggs by hand until he changed to mechanic picking. Life was very busy for many years. Children left the house and they were alone. They sold the chicken business and built their dream home. They travel all over the world with their family. Jorge being a businessman he decided to buy land and plant almonds. He also built a gated community townhouse which he called “Medeiros Vila”. Today Jorge celebrates his 100th birthday filled with love from all his family and friends. God has blessed him with good health and a wonderful family.

Jorge Medeiros nasceu em New Bedford Massachusetts e ainda muito jovem toda a sua família mudou-se para São Miguel, Açores. Quando ele tinha sete anos, sua mãe faleceu e no ano seguinte seu pai também faleceu. Ele ficou com sua irmã mais velha e dois irmãos mais novos. Quando ele tinha 18 anos, voltou para New Bedford. Ele foi convocado para o exército durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial. Assim que a guerra terminou, ele ficou muito doente e ficou hospitalizado por 3 meses. O médico o aconselhou a mudar para um clima diferente e foi então que ele se mudou para a Califórnia. Ele mora na Califórnia há mais de 74 anos. Voltou aos Açores e conheceu o amor da sua vida, a sua linda esposa Odília. Eles se casaram e moraram em Newman, Califórnia. Eles constroem suas vidas e constituem sua família. Eles tiveram três filhas e um filho. A vida era muito ocupada, Jorge trabalhava numa leiteria e a sua esposa estava encarregada da nova aventura de criar galinhas. Então ele comprou 10 acres de terra e construiu novos galinheiros e criou aves para a produção de ovos. Sua esposa e filhos eram os responsáveis ​​​​pela administração do negócio. Eles colheram os ovos manualmente até que ele mudou para a colheita mecânica. A vida foi muito ocupada por muitos anos. As crianças saíram de casa e ficaram sozinhas. Eles venderam o negócio de frangos e construíram a casa dos seus sonhos. Eles viajam por todo o mundo com sua família. Jorge sendo empresário decidiu comprar terras e plantar amêndoas. Também construiu um sobrado em condomínio fechado que chamou de “Vila Medeiros”. Hoje Jorge comemora 100 anos repleto de amor de todos os seus familiares e amigos. Deus o abençoou com boa saúde e uma família maravilhosa.
