      Well I have been using oils and it has been working for me. My hair has been growing especially when I used to take Medformen as medication and it's true, it does take your hair out among other things. I took myself off of it. Started using oils to grease my hair, and my hair has been growing since.
      I've used jbc, coconut, tea tree, peppermint, lavender, rosemary.
      They've worked for me.
      When I was a child, my mom used bergamont, sulfur 8, and the blue one, I can't think of it right now, the company that makes the grease also makes a perm kit, but it wasn't blue magic.
      My hair green and it was long.
      You don't have to grease your hair every day, but for us naturals you got to have something on your scalp. Our hair gets dry.
      I spray aloe vera juice, or water on my hair. Works well for me.

      They usually say it because natural girls use products that have a lot of oils and then add more, so they end up with oily hair that will remain dry, because on top of using tons of oils they don't shampoo often and don't remove that oily layer from the hair.

Planning on leaving soon but gathering all the techniques first so I can tweak to my preference. The owner doesn't even want products with oils in it like mielle, curls, and doesn't use a leave-in at all. We do use sulfates so that's a plus. Oh and we also cannot promote or do any other styles besides the wash and go. (Clients and stylists!!) Been wanting some box braids but she'll tell me to take em out. I won't be there long.

    I think there might be a misunderstanding. The notion, from my understanding, is not to use raw oils on the hair. Products formulated with oils are fine if you are using a strong enough shampoo to remove it. Products with oils can also work to lubricate the strand. Using oils and butters and then only co-washing or using very mild surfactants can cause dehydrated hair.

Something I have used alone is vitamin e oil and that oil has actually created new hair growth (around my edges where was little hair due to stress , breakage , etc) after about two months you start seeing this growth . If you have coarser and thick hair like from 3 to 4c hair (or combination hair ) , coating your edges and ends with castor oil will definitely protect your hair from breakage etc . Jamaican Black Castor Oil...... I love how you broke this down because it’s some cosmologist that are online saying oils and butters are bad unless they are with in a product. That penetrating oils block your hair from getting water in etc. I tried to wash and only have the oils from my leave in and moisturizer my hair was like no sis you know better. At the end of the day it’s like you said balance, it’s about how much you are using of anything. Just like too much water can be bad for your hair , having a lot of build up from oils and butters can be bad as well. I have learned in my almost 50 yrs and been natural for more than most of it, listen to your hair and do what our hair responds well too. Make sure to clean you scalp appropriately and to clarify at least once a month depending on what products you are using. Not everyone can do wash and goes ie my hair hates gels of all kinds and I have 4 clearly different textures in my hair so I don’t have a unified curl pattern to work with. But I can rock twist outs and braid outs with no issue or just a puff. Loved loved this video thank you ☺️

      Unfortunately coconut oil sits on top of my hair, makes it hard and sheds, and smells likw throw up on my hair. So one day I decided to use it as a body moisturizer & I was in the car with my dad when he said "Whatever you used on your hair don't use it again." and proceeded to open the window. When I said it was something I used on my skin all he said was "OH"😬 Never used it again 😂

    I've tried a lot of different oils like coconut, shea nut, (black) castor, avocado, almond, olive, Amla, argan, hemp, but what works the best for my hair and scalp seems to be vitamine E. And it works wonders for your skin and nails to without leaving an oily shiny residu. I always use a very small amount with some water when applying it on the skin

    THANK YOU for recommending an oil that's equivalent to coconut oil! I know coconut oil has so many beneficial qualities, but my hair hates it! I've tried it every which way, too. By itself, in a blend with other oils, in leave ins/ creams....but nope. Any product with coconut oil disagrees with my hair. My hair responds well to argan oil though, & I've been wanting to try others

      How do you tell if coconut oil is the one causing issues in your hair?

    • @VengefulAngeI
      @VengefulAngeI 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@geetika6540 It took me a long time to realize coconut oil was a problem. I'm a hair product junkie and have tried a lot of products - literally zero leave ins, stylers, or oils/ oil blends that contain coconut oil work for my hair. But, like I mentioned on my original comment, I've tried it as just the oil - which was awful. But I know sometimes your hair only does well with certain oils used in certain ways. So, also like I mentioned, besides using it alone & hating it, I've used it in more than one blend of oils, as well as many, many stylers, and all of them gave my hair the same awful feeling. I'm also a total hair product junkie, and since I always read the ingredients list, over time, I began to get an excellent grasp of what works for my hair and what doesn't work. For example, Certain ingredients are only good for my hair if they are only towards the bottom of the list, others my hair loves no matter what. I actually just recently caved and bought Camille Rose curl maker, despite coconut oil being the 2nd ingredient after water. People with similar textures, density, and porosity as myself were getting such amazing results, so when I saw a travel size curl maker while at Wal-Mart, I decided to buy it. At 1st it seemed great! My curls actually felt ok at 1st, and looked nice. But, within less than 24 hours, that ick feeling in my hair again, and I had used it pretty sparingly.
