Hey my friend Mae Mae girl I have 14 grandchildren and they are always ready to eat. Thanks my friend for coming by merry Christmas and a happy new year.🫶🏽🤗
When I do my greens, I always start with my water first and get that seasoned. I use salt, pepper, hot sauce, garlic salt, lemon pepper seasoning, onions if I have one or onion flakes sugar and butter and a ham hock. When I wash my greens, I do them one at a time and wash them very well, front and back. I don't wash them more than that and no, there's never any sand, dirt or any grit in my pot when I'm finished cooking them. As I'm cleaning and cutting the stems out, I am tasting my water to make sure that it is seasoned how I like it. After I am done cutting the stems out of the leaves, I just tear them by hand and put them in the boiling water. I cook my greens for about 45 minutes and they're always tender cooking them that long.
Ms.Judy the turnip greens with pigtails looks delicious 😋 l never in my life use fresh pigtails it was always smoke hammock smoke neck bones or turkey as for me l like pork l most definitely gonna try my next pot of greens with pigtails and hammock thanks for sharing God Bless you
August,20 2023. Sunday morning 6:45; first time viewer, excellent presentation. I’ve learned a lot about cooking turnips today which I have never cooked. Thank you. Peace in blessings!

Ok Mrs.Judy I love how this is going so far but I have never seen my grandmother or mother wash greens using a tiny bit of dishwashing detergent. I have seen them just wash them with water and soak them in salt. New one on me maybe thats why you have to wash them so much to get the detergent off of them. But love the rest of the video
Awesome but I know it takes more then 30 to 45 minutes to cook greens done? Well! Maybe your 30 minutes is two hours? Maybe! Or I need them good tender greens you cooked😂😁😊🙏🏿❤️
Why not chop up the stems instead of removing them? I got turnip greens going crazy in my raised bed and now I know how to cook them! I checked, and wow! my turnip greens look very different from these. These look tender - like lettuce - and mine are deep, dark green, and crinkled, with frilly edges.
You can but it takes longer to cook if you chop the stems up in the greens and these greens are baby tender turnup greens they are so tender it does not take long to cook about maybe one hour👌
@@cookingwithjudycaldwell6376 Too late for my greens now. We had several freezes, and I just had to let nature do its thing. I may have some turnips underneath though.... I should look.
Those greens and pigtails look delicious. Will try cooking them together.
Subscribed and turned my bell on. Thank you so much for the walk through. My husband will be so surprised! ❤❤❤

What kind of cooking oil did you use? 1/2cup 😳
You can use bacon, grease or canola oil or vegetable oil🫶🏽
Why do you add so much sugar to your greens and beans? That makes for sweet greens or are you going for sweet and spicy taste?
Sugar takes the bland taste from the greens and beans👍🏽
What a labor of love ❤️
