My dad gave me great advice when growing up. "Don't assume."
I think that motto applies here. She wouldn't have used again if they bothered to give her the benefit of the doubt.
but isn't this how junkies take advantage of others? rather than giver her the benefit of the doubt, i'd rather go for empirical evidence, I'll believe the test. if the test is inconclusive take it again.
When I decided to quit the addiction I had to stop talking to my family for a while, I took myself to a rehab clinic they gave me methadone,I kept going to the clinic every day to get my dose and ones a week I have therapy,two years later I got clean and started going to the clinic only ones a month then I called my family and I didn’t have to tell them that I quit drugs because they noticed that by themselves, I gain weight back my face got life again 😊, trying to quit drugs with your family around is not fun, because if you just look different immediately they say I’m using, try to explain but they don’t believe you, so I get angry because I stopped using for few months but they don’t believe me, so I just go and start using again.
Now I’m 5 years clean, but I still go ones a month to stay clean.

A lot of NA people would say that taking methadone isn’t the same as being clean, but keep doing whatever works for you brother

I get it that drama is needed and his character, but just wait for the results.
If she's clean it's needless drama, if she's using she's using and go from there.
A simple fix would be to have someone say "Probably not a good idea to accuse a recovering addict in stressful situation without evidence."

i agree he shouldnt have accused her but u can also see why he did. if she had done it before then whats to say she wouldnt do it again.I definitelu agree that he should of just kept it to himself instead of making the situation worse tho

@@Sniperboy5551 Addict is the wrong term. If you have chronic pain, and they don't give you painkillers, you get into alcohol and that is also very dangerous.
Most legitimate chronic pain sufferers are NOT addicts, just trying to survive another day in a little less agony!
There’s a big difference between addiction (substance use disorder) and dependency. Everyone becomes dependent with chronic use, but not everyone becomes an addict. A lot of people like to say “if you have withdrawal symptoms, you’re an addict,” but that’s pretty ridiculous. The DSM-V is clear.
The husband has to get therapy. Sounds like she did some really dangerous and hurtful things when she was using and the constant worry of truly caring about an addict is difficult. But he can’t use his fear to bludgeon her with blame everytime life takes a left turn😢
She should have taken him up when he offered suboxone - it’s amazing, all the pain relief & no high! Changed my life of chronic pain!
Question: If you can do a heart scan by wheeling over a scanner and taking ten seconds, why not do it to EVERYONE who is involved in a physical trauma?

No reason to check the heart and waste time if you don't suspect a heart issue.
They did use simpler methods like her vitals and checking her with a stethoscope hearing muffled heartbeat before using the sonogram.

It's just not such a simple thing.
It’s actually not a scanner (as in CT), it’s an ultrasound.
Everytime they use a machine in the hospital it costs money to use it.
Doctors assuming everyone is seeking drugs is the reason I have no sensation in my left leg and am in constant back pain. I went to three hospitals in Toronto looking for help from excruciating pain in my left leg. They all sent me away with Tylenol. I had two herniated discs in my lower back and my Sciatic nerve was caught between them, getting shredded by shards of bone, for two weeks before they finally realized there was an actual problem. I had emergency surgery but it was too late. My leg is dead and the back pain is constant. I use marijuana to help with pain and nausea but nothing gets rid of it completely. This is my life now thanks to doctors who didn't take the time to listen and do their f-ing jobs!!
If you went to the ER, I can understand them just giving you medicine and sending you home, since it wasn't life threatening. However, if it was an appointment with a doctor, it is terrible that you did not get a proper examination
I live and feel just like this woman and it is so hard. To be in pain all the time. Etc. Sigh.

she’s not actually in pain, it’s the body’s way of telling her that she needs more opioids. Part of the addiction.
@@seromiccyt4670 It may be, it may not. Chronic pain is a thing and opioid addiction doesn't exclude it.
If anything patient maybe should be offered rehab or other ways of pain management in tandem with addition tratment

If there’s no structural reason for the pain to be there, her neural pathways have developed to make her expect pain, and to amplify it…the only thing it has in common with painkillers is that once they’re stopped, she feels that 100%, full force.
I know this, because that happened to me. Even though they fixed the mechanical issue, my brain insisted that it was still there. It took several ketamine infusions to break that neural pathway.

My mother has Lyme disease and needs a double knee replacement, and they still don’t wanna give her any pain meds even though she can’t walk without any. Unfortunately people who abuse painkillers to get high are keeping people who actually need them from getting the medication. Think about that if any of you read this and are on opioids for fun. There’s so many people suffering because of that.
Pain is how most get hooked. Pain doesn’t keep you from getting addicted. They stop working fast you need higher and higher dose. It’s a mess! Canada doesn’t give them for crazy surgeries and they don’t have the issues we do. Everyone I knew that was on OCs had physical pain and got them from a doctor, she in this show said a doctor is who got her hooked on them. OxyContin was supposed to be non habit forming. Now they have meds to keep you from withdrawals. It’s a huge money making monster in America
You can’t live taking narcotics every day even if in pain. Less you are unaliving with cancer or something
@@rachellefebres4183 i’m sure I know it’s really addictive, but you have obviously never had a relative in excruciating pain for years at a time with no other option for pain meds(not a judgement and I still value your opinion). If they could make a new pain medication that was non-addictive, and actually worked, that would be the best way to stop people from taking opioids. But I don’t think the higher up people want to do that either. Which sucks. America sucks in a lot of ways. Lol
I wouldn’t even blame addicts for it, it’s mostly to do with authoritarian government restrictions. After the opioid epidemic was declared, the government has started auditing prescribing and they’re the ones who’ve made it hard to get opioids even when needed.
This is true. There is no stopping people from doing drugs and opioid addicts are just trying to fight m psychological pain. What we need is a more well informed public and for the state to stop telling people what they do and don't need. We aren't children or animals though they seek to treat us as such.
As someone in pain everyday i dont see how ppl get addicted i sometimes forget my dose and take as i remember i have pain everywhere. Endometriosis, ibd, fibromyalgia, levator ani syndrome
There are some things that you can use if you wish. Don't be totally dependent on painkillers as they can cause side effects. Try something natural from nature that won't have any side effects.
if you don't notice you've missed a dose, you're not in that much pain.
Today I have the same pain as you, I can forget a dose and take it only when I get pain and realize I forgot it.
But when I was at my worst, I can promise you that not a single dose was forgotten, all doses were taken at exactly the right time, around the clock.
But I had side effects from my strong pain meds, so as soon as the pain was manageable on other meds I stopped taking the strong ones.
Some people gets a very positive feeling of strong painkillers, like a rush, which makes them feel good, that's when you create an addiction, when you chase the positive feeling that the medicines give.

I take several different things for different symptoms my pain tolerance is high but as it's winding down I know it's almost time to take it because the stabbing feeling Start come on. If I miss a dose I come out of remission. If I fall asleep the pain awakes me. No day is the same. Very silly of you to assume what u don't know about. Pain differs everyday and medz are expensive I can miss a nerve medz but I can't miss my morphine or it's hospital

As a person that’s on pain killers and other meds for cronic pain I feel this the way her husband treated her. Even tho I’m not addicted ur always seen as one and when the partner is spiteful they will use ur medical condition and meds a way to hurt u.
Wow are people here really attacking the husband, she was endangering the loves of their children multiple times of course he had to make the hard choice and protect the kids.

I have a few suggestions for you if you wish to no longer be 100% dependent on pain killers meds but instead, take something natural from nature that has no side effects to it instead.

Kratom is a life-saving plant, I agree.
And also has the exact same side effects of opioids just to a lesser degree along with some others that narcotics don't have. It's a matter of biochemistry. Where do you think the first pure drugs came from? Directly from the plants that made them.
