Hey man, never feel bad about using stuff like Rewind or Save States, especially on 80s and 90s games. Two things that are always true about the classic Mega Man games: 1. The music is FUCKING AWESOME 2. They’re controller throwingly hard (5 did have a slightly flatter difficulty curve than the others though)
The name Rockman was actually a pun of sorts. The idea was that his name was either shortened to Rock or his real name was simply Rock, and when you mention him and his sister, you get Rock and Roll. This is also why Protoman was called Blues in the Japanese version. Oddly enough, Bass is known in Japan as Forte, meaning that Capcom USA went with the naming scheme that they discarded for two other major characters when the Japanese version didn't even use it (I checked, and there doesn't seem to be any real connections to music for Forte).

Yeah my MM trajectory was weird…. MM4, MM2, and MM5 (in that order) as a kid then the other three classic MM games later on emulators as a teenager/young adult
I just recently decided to play through all the classic megaman games for the first time. Really neat to see Scott review the first game right after beating it
I still don't get why this channel only has 250k subs I mean compared to most people thats a lot but it deserves so many more. When I discovered it a couple months back I thought oh this guy must be a large channel half way through the video. Then I looked and thought (in scotts voice) "huh."
I had Mega Man 2 for NES as a kid, so I got a replacement copy a year or two ago. Then I bought Mega Man Legacy Collection for DS or 3DS, qnd I have a 500-in-1 NES cart with Mega Man 1-6, and the Wiley Wars on the Genesis Mini... but I just got Mega Man 1 and 3 for NES today, because Mega Man games are too difficult, and my daughter gets frustrated and quits... cue the Game Genie!
I remember getting this game for xmas and popping it into my nes for first time my parents didn't see me for a week plus this is the game that caused me brake my first controller 😂.
I always felt like Mega Man 1 had better enemy designs and gameplay than Mega Man 2. The pellet-firers are more satisfying to dodge - and everyone has so much more personality! Like, I love how the Sniper Joes jump into position when you first encounter them. Mega Man 2 is definitely the better game, but I feel like before the Dr. Wily stages, Mega Man 1 is a pretty good rival.
I genuinely preferred Wily's Castle in the first more than the second, felt more intimidating and climactic to me and made better use of all of the powers. Also I couldn't stand that Boss in MM2 that you need to use the Crash Man weapon for.
THE REWIND BUTTON was my greatest friend through Mega Man 1 - 6. I played through Mega Man 1 and 2 without it. Then replayed those games with it. Saved me a ton of frustration. I played through 3, 4, 5 and 6 with the button. I didn't have it in Mega Man 9 or 10 and I died A LOT. The REWIND BUTTON is a great feature for these 8-bit revivals. Worked wonders in TMNT games.
I have been playing Mega Man and I've been a huge fan of being a man since 1992 and this is the first time I've seen the European Mega Man box art and it is freaking awesome
I was actually willing to start out with Mega Man 1, but I immediately dropped the game when I saw how it had really unfair and shitty game design right off the bat and general design flaws. I just jumped into Mega Man 2 and it is a much better experience in every way. At first I was confused what's up with this video series, but now I totally get it, please make more of these.
3 years late but I'd recommend giving MM1 another chance if you haven't already, it has lots of replay value thanks to each Boss Weapon being useful and by playing the levels in different orders you'll find more and more uses for them. It's a tough game but that just makes it all the more satisfying to get good on, I generally don't think it's all that unfair (save for a few moments). I also think Mega Man 1 did Wily's Castle and Weapon balance miles better than MM2 personally.
Honestly, MM1 is my go to Mega Man game. I love how all of the weapons are useful, it adds a lot of replay value to the game. The only other MMs I can think of (off the top of my head, anyways) where all of the weapons are good are MM4 and MM9.
You know, Capcom is actually quite impressive... they made a sh*t ton of characters that could actually work as a company mascot...

You're right, I am lucky I did get to start with Mega Man 4. First video game I ever played in my life when I was 3 years old back in '91 been a fan of the series since. it's a good vid you got here and it's nice to see a bit of the younger generation get into this franchise too.
Yeah my MM trajectory was weird…. MM4, MM2, and MM5 (in that order) as a kid then the other three classic MM games later on emulators as a teenager/young adult
Man why do I keep doing this to myself each time I click on one of Scott's videos I almost died from laughing they're just really well-written
3:58 It is literally the perfect box art.
I just recently decided to play through all the classic megaman games for the first time. Really neat to see Scott review the first game right after beating it
When he says he played it “back in the day” but he means on the Wii 😂
Ok boomer
I first played the first one on the Gamecube Mega Man collection
My mind still cant comprehend that the Wii is that old
Because he's a 1997 baby.
I still don't get why this channel only has 250k subs I mean compared to most people thats a lot but it deserves so many more. When I discovered it a couple months back I thought oh this guy must be a large channel half way through the video. Then I looked and thought (in scotts voice) "huh."
glad i'm not the only one waiting for mega man soccer legacy collection
Jasoncrafter82 I know, right?
well, there's only one Mega Man Soccer game... so why not just have an HD remake?
Douglas the Quilava that’s the joke.
r/whoooooooooosh
Thank you for finally slowing down how quickly you speak. Infinitely easier to understand in this video than in the past.
00:16 "Mega Man: Capcom's golden child" more like "Mega Man: Capcom's *BLUE BOI* "
Scott is just super nerdy thanos
NERDY THANOS
NERDY THANOS
Thanos but with 90% less death
then where's his infinity glasses?
I love the Mega Man GAMES
"rewind button saves you alot of time"
i thought so myself until i replayed megaman :(
yellow devil made me cry
Ain’t no way he just called Fire Man “Flame Man” who was introduced in Mega Man 6!
GuYs I dOn'T tHiNk He Is JoKiNg
Finally, the series my favorite game belongs to! I swear Scott, youre the new age of game reviews, I put respect on your name for that.

so they made their own box art
*bankrupt*
me: "yeah, time to sub"
I love MM3 more than any other classic Mega Man games
MM4 is better.
This is the kid from Goldbergs right? Where's Barry?
he is 23
Dark _ HSD das da joke mane
THE REWIND BUTTON was my greatest friend through Mega Man 1 - 6.
I played through Mega Man 1 and 2 without it. Then replayed those games with it. Saved me a ton of frustration.
I played through 3, 4, 5 and 6 with the button. I didn't have it in Mega Man 9 or 10 and I died A LOT.
The REWIND BUTTON is a great feature for these 8-bit revivals. Worked wonders in TMNT games.
It’s BLUE MAN!
I have been playing Mega Man and I've been a huge fan of being a man since 1992 and this is the first time I've seen the European Mega Man box art and it is freaking awesome
With the release of Megaman 11, they’ll add a Megaman skin to Fortnite
RidonkulousMG That sounds like it would happen
Nah, we got DMC5's MegaBuster to promote the game
Though, Megaman doing the default dance as a official thing would be quite the sight
I think if they add a mega man skin the cringe will crash all the servers
Don't forget about Shovel Knight. He'll be in Megaman 11 somewhere.
The good thing about the Legacy Collection is that when I fuck up in a level I can scream *“IT’S REWIND TIME”*

Lets pour one out for Starforce never getting any attention outside of videos like these
MM is my favorite in the series...Still to this day I can't tell the difference in control compared to the others.
Who thinks Scott should review Mega Man 2?
11:25 Megaman Zero has a nice homage to this in the first game's ending and the second game's opening.
A much better experience ey.

Mega Man NES cover art is beautiful change my mind
Honestly, MM1 is my go to Mega Man game. I love how all of the weapons are useful, it adds a lot of replay value to the game. The only other MMs I can think of (off the top of my head, anyways) where all of the weapons are good are MM4 and MM9.
Mega Man 4 is one of my favourite games.
I like all the mega mans game I have played I don’t really have a favorite although I am terrible at playing it
Everytime someone says that’s not even scratching the surface I’m like what were we doing before petting it?
