I started the B1. I've been on a machine for CSA for years and NEVER sleep through the night. The face masks always slip off. LatelyI've had to tighten the mask to the point I was waking up with a severe pain in a muscle in my neck. So I started the B1. The nightmares are gone, I got off the machine and last night I slept ALL night. I can't thank Dr Berg enough!!!! (I checked my blood oxygen this am - 98%!)
Can anyone advise me what to look for when buying vitamins? I have heard that chemically forged vitamins are nearly useless. Which ones are worth buying and what do I have to look for. Same goes for the other supplements, for example Selen, Zinc and others.

Dr Berg, you need to be the head of the FDA!!! We need someone who is normal and sensible , and does not lie to the people!!! You see this silencing and keeping Medical advice from us!!! Thank you for what you do and your informative videos!!!
I am morbidly obese( over 400lbs). I had sleep apnea and I just assumed it was because I was overweight. I recently did a diet called the Daniel Fast which you can’t eat added sugars at all. I dropped 17lbs in 2 weeks. And even though I am still overweight, my sleep apnea is completely gone, and my wife says I don’t even snore anymore. He really knows what he is talking about.
Lots of doctors who advocate low-carb diets mention that many health benefits are seen in obese people shortly after starting the diet and long before the patient gets to a normal BMI or normal height/weight ration.
THANK YOU for actually telling us what we need, unlike the vast majority of these videos that tell us for 15 minutes that “there is a food that’s in our kitchen right now that’s killing us” only to refer us to their book or program for a price. You just gained 100% credibility with me.
My baby died of SIDS at 9 weeks of age. Spent the next 28 years feeling guilty that I must have been negligent in some way. This is sort of comforting because its not something that I could have reasonably known.
I’m so sorry. Don’t feel guilty. Sids usually is caused by vaccinations, but doctors don’t warn parents this is a potential risk. They always say safe and effective. You should check out Justice for Evee. The mom who runs it lost her daughter from sids at 6 months just a couple days after her vaccinations.
@@LynnW444 I actually raised my concerns about vaccinations and SIDs and the nurse very strongly argued the case for vaccinations. In the end, with 1 in 500 babies dying of SIDS, I thought - its very unlikely and then had my baby vaccinated. Baby died 10 days later. I was admitted to hospital. The same nurse came to visit me in hospital - very defensive and almost aggressive, and I was the one who had to calm her. from my hospital bed (and I was a wreck). I knew that it was just because she felt really bad.
@@LynnW444 I think you're making a big assumption there, that vaccinations cause SIDS. What if the child had never had a vaccination because they died at 1 month old and didn't have any vaccinations yet?
Thank you for clarifying that there is more than one type of apnea. Everyone can benefit from good nutrition, certainly. But put the expectation that increasing B vitamins will address all apnea is not realistic. Still, the B vitamins will help central sleep apnea. Obstructive sleep apnea is a beast, though! :D
David Cox thanks for that clarification! I was diagnosed with both/complex sleep apnea and the docs can’t seem to figure out why a young thin and in their eyes healthy woman could have central sleep apnea.
Daniel Whittaker, visit your local ENT or OMFS surgeon. There are numerous surgical interventions that can help with OSA. Be sure to attempt natural methods of improving OSA before cutting on yourself obviously. Those natural methods meaning losing weight! If weight is not an issue then for sure it’s a condition of hyperplasia of oropharyngeal tissue. Untreated OSA can really make you feel like total crap. It also can cause heart failure as you age and is totally and completely treatable
I have sleep apnea. I am not low on B vitamins. I studied Sleep Apnea in Respiratory Therapy class. Some people have small airways. Being overweight can effect the airflow in our airways. That is what caused mine. When I am at my healthy weight I stop snoring and sleep without any difficulty breathing. Adults can be tested and diagnosed but babies can't be tested if they have restricted airways. If we could it would save a lot of babies.I have never heard this theory before so I am reluctant to believe it is the cause for every case. I take B vitamins and it hasn't resolved my sleep apnea. I have obstructive sleep apnea. I tested with a sleep disturbance every 20 seconds all night long. My heart rate went from 50 to 80 which was pretty severe. First PA didn't understand the sleep test and didn't contact the sleep doctors to get their feedback. It caused me to get a lot of negative side effects that have me extremely fatigued and unhealthy. I was unable to finish college. I am loosing weight. Another 20 pounds down and I will be much healthier.
There was an episode where Joe Rogan brought on a specialist to talk about this. A big reason why so many people have small airways is due to under developed, small jaws. The reason is we aren’t eating the way we were as hunter gatherers. We don’t spend hours every day chewing modern food, and genetically our jaws are getting smaller as a result. If you weren’t already aware of this, you might want to look it up. The specialist actually widened his jaw with a contraction he designed to reverse the problem.
OMG! My sleep doc never said a word! She checks to see if I'm using my machine and sends me on my way, exhausted. I tried the B1 and yes it's working in just 2 days!! I'm still on my machine of course but for the first time in YEARS I haven't awaken several times a night! I can't believe it! Thank you!!!!
The fact the FDA approves formulas with little significant values of B1 knowing the connection between B1 deficiency and SIDS, shows just how corrupt this government doctrine of modern medicine is. That's why i like Dr. Berg, he breaks down food and diet in an easy to understand and also calls out these organizations

When I switched my diet to whole foods, cut all added sugar, processed foods, and vegetable oils my sleep apnea and horrible snoring of a near lifetime disappeared completely. No joke. I now sleep regularly and well, it feels incredible to wake up rested and ready to go.
I did 3 months of carnivore eating, just to be my own scientist. Have had snoring, apnea issues, allergy issues, sinus infections since my pre teens. After 3 months, zero snoring, zero apnea issues, zero allergy issues(seasonal), not 1 single sinus infection. As a bonus, i went from 210 lbs, to 185 lbs. Now I make no claims as to carnivore eating being the way to go, or healthier. I haven't had any blood work done, and that's probably important. In fact, for me, carnivore eating simply isn't tenable. I need some variety. Having said that, it helped me pinpoint certain plant foods that were affecting me for years, and I didn't even know. I've slowly started adding the veggies I dont react to, with a specific focus on fermented foods. I'm still eating pretty low car, moderate protein, higher fat; and have maintained the results/health benefits. I think everyone could benefit from trying this for a couple of months.
@@jacklabonte6839 You used the carnivore diet as an elimination diet. That is an excellent idea. Do you eat all meats and fish or specific meats? Did you eat organ meats? Which vegetables were problematic in addition back into your diet and how long did you wait between adding each vegetable? I like this idea and would implement it with more information. Thank you.
@@lindahathaway3519 I appreciate your interest Linda. Thank you. I had grown frustrated with my health, and things being good for me one year, and bad for me the next. All I knew, was that I wasn't getting better, just worse every year. So I finally said f--k it, and decided I was going to be my own scientist for awhile. I chose to try and eat a cow, "nose to tail", as they say, and waste as little of the animal as possible. Found a farm locally and bought a grass fed animal. I ate muscle meat, steaks and roasts, but also the liver, kidney, heart, tongue, pancreas, spleen, thymus glands....etc. I did not eat the brain, as I was warned away from this, due to potential for mad cow disease. Honestly, some of these items were tough to get my mouth and brain around, as you can imagine 🤑. I didn't take any multi vitamin, except for vitamin C , which is tough to find in animals. All the organ meats pretty much took care of my vitamin and mineral needs. I tried to eat some kind of animal organ at least twice a week. As I side note, some animal organs, especially liver do contain a minimal amount of carbohydrates, so it isn't accurate to call it a zero carb way of eating. In addition to cow, I also ate wild salmon, salmon roe, oysters, clams, chicken(skin on), eggs, and the ground up shells(calcium), bone broth(from the cow bones), Pork, and pretty much anything else that is an animal. I ate zero vegetable matter during the 3 months. There was definitely an uncomfortable adjustment period, as I went from a standard carb rich Canadian diet, to very few carbs, protein and fat. I wasn't miserable, but digestivly needed a solid 2 weeks to adjust. I didn't eat at specific meal times as normal, but allowed myself to be hunger driven. My palate was the biggest adjustment, especially as I didn't use any sauces, except salt, or butter. Mostly I cooked in Lard, tallow, duck fat....etc. eating organ meats was a tough adjustment mentally, and to my taste sense. I had multiple containers that I used to collect fat drippings. Hahaha! It was definitely extreme, and I'm sure my wife thought I had gone mad. After my experiment was over, I slowly started adding veggies and fruits back in to my diet, and I still am adding to my list. I would try tiny portions at first, like a teaspoon at each meal. I would do this for a week. I could feel a reaction to some things immediately, and others were a more moderate or even minimal reaction, but in all cases I could tell fairly quickly. Tomatoes, and Citrus were an example of a fruit and vegetable that I was immediately reactive to. Cabbage and Asparagus were moderately reactive, kale, and carrots were minimally reactive. I categorized all of these in a journal. To my great pleasure, raspberries and blackberries were completely non reactive. My favorite berries😀. During my carnivore months I also learned about lacto fermentation. Some of the foods that caused a strong reaction in me, I could eat easily, if they were fermented. Saurkraut is one of my current favorites 😍. Its pretty cool. This has opened back up the world of veggies for me. I dont know yet what it is about the fermenting process that makes reactive veggies edible for me. I'm still researching. Apologies for the crazy length of this, but I am grateful for your interest. If you have any questions, regarding my experience, I am happy to chat with you about them. My current diet consists mainly of moderate amounts of protein, with an emphasis on fatties meats + veggies I can tolerate well, but specifically lacto fermented veggies. Also, if its of interest to you, I am running self experiments on having cold showers, and intermittent fasting. Don't be scared to be your own scientist! Jack Labonte

After COVID, I kept waking up not breathing. It was very scary. I had a sleep test, neurology visits, but that didn’t do much. I cured myself within a couple weeks by taking a B1 sublingual. And it stuck too, no recurrence for over a year. Thanks to Dr. Berg.
I had the same issue during the time I had Covid last April and for a while after, even though it hadn’t settled in my lungs. B1 definitely helped with that.
Good to know. I had covid in August. Didn't get too serious, but since then I wake up not breathing many times during the night. It's terrifying because I'm not sure my lungs will start up again. Def going to try B1. They prescribed it for my husband who was in ICU for 2 weeks. We are both otherwise healthy, late 50s.
Thank you Dr. Berg. I’m a diabetic and a CDL holder. I control my diabetes with diet and exercise. I ballooned up to 287 lbs, and lost 93 pounds. Sleep apnea was my biggest fear. Thank you again. This was very insiteful.
Peter: I lost 30 lbs in less than 5 months by putting 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a soup mug of water and heating it on the popcorn setting of my microwave and drinking that daily. I was not trying to lose weight. My physician had been trying for 9 months to get my long term blood sugar down without success. I drank the cinnamon tea to balance my long term blood sugar. It worked. We were raised on home baked yeast bread. It took many years for me to convince my body that yeast bread was not essential. The dietary change that finally worked was gradually phasing in 12 ounces of salad alternating days, then having fewer carbs and increasing fiber from salads. I can go months at a time now with not even a slice of bread or a cracker. Chamomile tea will take puffiness out of the body without weight loss.
You got that right Dr. Berg! For 50 years I’ve been losing a lot of sleep because of my husband’s loud snoring and watching him not breathe so I can make sure he breathes. He sounds like a revving motorcycle when he resumes breathing. Thank you for this very important information.

@@Winnie-2609 It's possible that you're both right and wrong at the same time. There are multiple classes of sleep apnea, including central (CSA) and obstructive (OSA). As far as I know, loud snoring is a good indication of OSA, i.e. "BLOCKAGE". However, a person can have both OSA and CSA at the same time, in which cases B1 could be at least part of an effective treatment for CSA.

Thank you for making a video that is concise, informative, easy to understand, and is not too long. Many doctors on TH-cam make lengthy, repetitive videos that go on and on without ever getting to a point or giving any useful information. After a minute or so with no good information or the name of a product, I move on to something else, and they will NEVER get my subscription. I have noted that most of them are promoting a product of their own, which is fine as long as their videos are not lengthy. But they seem to think it's necessary to make a long, rambling infomercial about it. Your videos are refreshingly different from those, and I find them very helpful and informative.
@ jonna osborne--THANK YOU!!! You really said a mouthful of truth that most ppl feel the same way about. And you expressed it clearly & intelligently .
Without meaning to sound rude, I call it "American" advertising. Drives me crazy...on and on and on, never getting to the point. My take: give me the facts, tell me what you are selling and how much and I will decide without a long repetitive diatribe...lol!
I remember watching a bodybuilder's video saying he's in the fitness industry yet his heart and body was failing. So basically he took a sleeping test and found that he had sleep apnea and basically he found that every single day he had essentially just 30 minutes of actual deep sleep. This was caused by the deviation of cartilage inside of his nose that caused breathing obstruction. He went to a surgeon and fixed it. So if you guys are tired all the time, consider taking a sleeping test. And if you have sleep apnea, consider maybe an obstruction of your nose during sleep that you might not be aware of, which you need to talk to the docs or specialists to find out. Just another possibility out there for you to consider. Good luck!

Nurses and doctors only know about big pharma, not about the value of healing w nutrition. This lack of knowledge is the reason people think holistic natural healers are quacks. They are not part of the big corporate controlling medical system, but they are the "real" doctors bc they do heal.
I heard in a seminar recently that B1 would stop nightmares, so I started and am keeping it up. I am getting more rest as well. Glad to know that the B1 is doing more than nightmare control.
Pretty crucial information that he neglected to include, lol! Most people have never even heard of central sleep apnea. CSA is often due to neurological diseases or damage. I have a neuroimmune disease, and doctors assumed my CSA was probably due to brain inflammation. I just had another MRI done since it's been several years, and I now have a lesion and damage to my brain stem. It's looking like I've developed MS. 😕
Finally someone to shine on light on the Charlatans....interesting the preacher didn't make that clear from the outset in the video.... "what I am about to tell you will help about 2% of you.....".... wake up folks, your desperate and need hope, but don't buy fools gold...
He didn't clarify because it shoots his initial comment about diabetes out of the water. It's safe to assume that a majority of diabetics are overweight. Overweight people typically have OSA. The solution there isn't B1 or less sugar, it's a CPAP.
@@simbalantana4572 Thanks. It sucks, but what can you do, right? Somewhat ironically, just before I first became ill I almost died from a very severe B12 deficiency that was missed by doctors. It mimics MS. And, it can end up causing central sleep apnea because of damage to the brain. Not only did I have that, but also a severe D deficiency and almost no detectable iron in my blood. I honestly thought I was dying. I learned the hard way that they literally spend about 2 days learning about this stuff in medical school, and too many doctors don't even think to check the things that our bodies need to function. I had a ton of other scans and tests done to look for the big things like cancer, but they overlooked the basics. It's crazy. I was curious when I watched this video, wondering why he's pushing B1 for apnea, especially without clarifying which form. B1 deficiency is actually pretty rare & usually happens in conjunction with another medical condition. B12 deficiency is more common than we realize, and can become incredibly serious. Anyway, this video is just odd to me. 🤷

Life without added sugar, Whole Foods makes every difference in my health. So many good things happened, even a keloid scar disappeared from my chest. I sleep better, and am so grateful to have learned what sugar was doing to me in time to raise my kids with this knowledge.
Yes, our food must be our medicine, as we eat day in and day out. When it comes to sugar, it is important to * eat real sugar and not the tampered sugars( -oses) and such, but cane sugar. Also, what most lack, is enough *combustion of your food= enough excersise to burn you food to not leave residues in your body. I bike 5000 km/year and am very trimmed: my cells are effective even when I sleep. When it comes to fats, it's the same story: stay out of processed fats; semi -hardened and such. Back to real butter, coconut oil, olive oil, flax seed oil, rape seed oil. These cost more, but it gives your cells nutrition, so you eat less. Hunger is the blood signaling lack of nutrients. Eat right =eat less= same cost as bad food. Bake a cake at home and substitute some sugar with ripe bananas(3/cake); garantied good :). Eating well doesn't mean lack, only other things. If you can't understand the contents table on the package: don't eat :).

As Dr Cox mentioned, there are two types of apnea. Central sleep apnea happens because the part of the brain responsible for keeping the lungs functioning during sleep stops functioning properly; this is usually due to a chemical imbalance in the body, hence diet will help. Obstructive sleep apnea is more of a mechanical issue. This generally happens in overweight individuals and has to do with how the body folds onto itself during sleep (tongue can roll back, a goiter can press upon the throat, chin folds adding excess weight on the throat region etc.)
You forgot the 3rd one. Menopause symptoms also cause sleep disturbances. Hormonal imbalances. Nutritional yeast doesn’t taste great. How much do you need to consume?
@@amandadupreez6105 sleep apnea is different from sleep disturbances. Sleep apnea is when a person stops breathing in their sleep, and then suddenly wakes up and starts breathing again. The part of the brain that detects low oxygen in the blood notices the drop in blood oxygen concentration, and wakes up the person enough to take a gasp of breath or reposition themselves to help them breathe better. It can be quite scary if once in a while you’ve held your breath too long in your sleep, which happened to me a few times. Other times, it happens in such a small scale that you don’t realize that you’ve been doing this cycle of not breathing, waking up and gasping, then going back to sleep all night. It can lead to incomplete or unsatisfactory sleep. And the long term consequences are worth enough to address this health condition. Diet change as mentioned, and definitely weight management. I’m not learned about the hormonal issues you mentioned, though I know that’s definitely something that disrupts sound sleep. CPAP machines help with severe conditions, but it’s uncomfortable and cumbersome (a big old breathing machine you put on your face like a mask). Better to make lifestyle changes. If however that doesn’t help, there are other options available. Take care of health seriously. It is among God’s greatest gifts. Edit: oh, forgot to mention. Severe anxiety and/or panic disorders can also cause temporary sleep apnea. Usually resolves as the anxiety is managed. There might be other causative factors too, but that’s the extent of my knowledge.

After battling the effects of sleep apnea for a year and having to give up my job as I was just so tired and could not focus on my work, taking B1 has completely resolved by sleep apnea, heart palpitations, arrhythmias, weak legs and other more minor issues. The GP’s who thought it was stress or referred me to specialists ; ENT, cardiologist and a so called sleep specialist who said I didn’t have a problem and could be waking because of noises in the night, were of no use whatsoever and it was a very expensive and soul destroying process. This subject needs to be revisited. The sleep apnea you are referring to is Central Sleep Apnea (CSA), which I now have. I'm eager to try the B1 route to see if it helps. Another type of sleep apnea is Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). I also had that years ago. For me, that type was only cured by having a surgery to move my top and bottom jaw out to open up my airway because my airway was tiny. My tongue would cap over my airway while sleeping. It was considered a birth defect. OSA can also be attributed to having a thick neck and the need for weight loss. I think it's very important to know the difference, so each can be treated properly. Thanks for all your wealth of information.
Interesting. How was the surgery called that you had for this? Also, what do you think about maxilla expansion surgery to fix this? The theory is that we are supposed to always breathe with our noses and have proper tongue posture (keeping the tongue flat and in touch with our palate) and if we don't the maxilla becomes recessed which causes the jaw/mouth to become smaller.
CSA is "central" sleep apnea? My brother-in-law has CSA, but it's called CHRONIC sleep apnea, meaning it recurs constantly, and in his case, has been ongoing for many years. I'm retired from 45 years working in healthcare, and never have I heard of it being called "central" sleep apnea.
@j b it's called Central Sleep Apnea. Not chronic sleep apnea. I've been a registered sleep technician for almost a decade and have worked in sleep labs for over 8 years. There is no such thing as chronic sleep apnea.
@@samk.620 I started a liquid form of a b-complex vitamin, but I also started using an inversion table at the same time. I was tested again about 6 months ago and I no longer have Central Sleep Apnea.

When in hospital for testing they found my heart would simply stop for up to 5 seconds. Buggers kept waking me up to tell me.

One of the most common reasons for B1 (any many other nutrient deficiencies) is due to gluten (wheat, barley, and rye) consumption. eating something before getting up in the morning helps a lot. I had 5 pregnancies and only in the first one did I really throw up. After that I prevented nausea by eating something before getting up. Also grapesugar helps when you are at work in between meals.
When the first COVID lockdown happened I started exercising and eating better. I also starting taking a B supplement, it keeps the mosquitos from biting me! Anyway I was a lifetime suffer of sleep apnea but since I started my routine it has gone away.
You'll be better off finding a food with B vitamins in it than taking a supplement which is just expensive urine and supplements are also owned by pharmaceutical companies as well

If this video is true, then it is the only place in the entire internet that has this info! I’ve been researching a cure tirelessly for weeks since I developed Central Sleep Apnea, and I came across this just today!! And I’m surprised to see so many who have improved their conditions with B1! Gonna try this starting today. Thank you, Dr. Berg!! If this works, I want to make it my personal mission to get this word out there!
Hi Paul, did you try it yet, any success? I'm pretty sure I have central. Over the last month I wake at half 2 to 3am, then 5am then when I have to get up. I wake with a completely dry mouth, headache, and feel brain fogged for the day that I can't shift. I don't snore and I'm not over weight. I also grind me teeth in my sleep so I'm back to a mouth guard the last few days as I thought I'd stopped that but my Mrs woke to me doing it.
@@carling5214 your symptoms don’t sound like central apnea to me, though I’m not a doctor and can’t be sure. When I wake up from each episode, I feel tingling throughout my body from the adrenaline of waking up to breathe, and also from lack of oxygen. I also sweat from this happening throughout the night. To answer your question, I did start taking Vitamin B1. I’m not sure if it’s working. My condition has indeed gotten better, but I think that’s also due to time. You see, my condition is unusual in that it was triggered from a shock to my nervous system one month ago during a traumatic incident. I started acupuncture treatment this week and it has also helped. So I’m unsure how much the B1 has actually helped. I am attacking it from all angles - acupuncture, B1, Whole Foods diet, supplements, walks in the park, regular, camomile tea before bed, and consistent sleep schedule. I follow this religiously, or else I have trouble sleeping. Good luck with figuring your illness out. Sounds like you need to get a sleep study done. Or videotape yourself sleeping at night.
Thank you for this video, Dr Berg! In addition to the risk factors you mentioned, other people that might want to consider adding Thiamine (B-1) are those who drink alcohol on a regular basis-not just those who may be diagnosed with alcoholism. Alcohol consumption depletes Thiamine and can cause sleep apnea or worsen the symptoms of it.
I used to have obstructive sleep apnea. I started sleeping on my side and it went away. Or rather, I no longer stop breathing in the night, I'm sure I still have it. No cpap needed for over ten years. Now that I'm losing weight, my snoring is going away so I'm sure my apnea will to. May not work for everyone, but it's free to try.
Thanks Dr Berg, I'll give it a try. I was diagnosed with sleep apnoea at age 40. From childhood up to age 40 I had chronic mouth ulcers (like 50% of the time. Multiple ulcers and often large and painful). From the time I started using CPAP 21 years ago the ulcers stopped coming. I put it down to dry mouth being fixed by using a humidifier attached to the CPAP machine. I have raised this with my doctor and dentist. Seems they never heard of this. I hope someone out there can benefit from knowing this.
I've tried sublingual B1 and a host of other USP approved vitamins and a decent diet. I'm not overweight. Nothing worked so I went back to my Sleep Apnea mouthguard. Episodes went from 22/hour to four. I wish it would have worked.
My husband has diabetes and after research had bloodwork done and confirmed that he had really low vitamin D levels. When he took vitamin D, his glucose returned to normal for a time. Still working on reducing sugar intake!
With central sleep apnea, yes, I can see this. Folks who have OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) is purely related to their anatomy whether that be airway anatomy, obesity, etc,...

Dr Berg, it should be clarified that you are referring to central sleep apnea, not the obstructive type. Anesthesiologist here. Love your work!
I was diagnosed with both/complex sleep apnea and the docs can’t seem to figure out why a young thin and in their eyes healthy woman could have central sleep apnea.
be lovely The word thin stuck out to me. Do you mean nicely slim, or on the skinny side?
Yep, I have obstructive. Very good point whicj should have been made in the video.

This is a description of CSA Central Sleep Apnea. Less that 2% of apnea suffers have CSA. The other 98% have OSA Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
@@missMediaChick That happened to me as well for many years i kept deteriorating until i (luckily) had a chemical poisoning from some walls my family had drawn.... A friend took me to a good doctor and found that basic staff(iron,b12,D) other doctor's have been missing out in general hospitals. Damn even for cancer.
I still wonder if i could do something for my father who suffers apnea but he doesn't want to check it out or speak about it :(

Beautiful info. Sleep apnea is a major disorder in stressed people who mobilize glucose forcefully and also run on adrenaline despite being asleep. B1 deficiency is often accompanied by poor digestion. Many report great results from taking B1, though I personally take a good multivitamin.

Keep up with the good work.
He's misleading people into thinking B1 will help obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). It won't.
It only helps with central sleep apnea (CSA).
Doctor I want to thank you so much for this advice. I went and got B1 complex, witch has 25mg of vitamin D1, took it a few hours before bed and it cured my sleep apnea! I am very grateful, its been so long since I slept 8 hours and woke up supercharged!
I like your expression " supercharged ".
25 mg of vit D1 or B1?
the best natural food sources of B 1 are macadamia nuts ( 1,2mgr/100gr) , pistachio ( 0,9mgr), oats ( 0,8 mgr). chia seeds ( 0,6 mgr) and brazil nuts ( 0,6 mgr)
For the convenience of other viewers, I just looked up the best natural sources of B1:
Fortified breakfast cereals (ok, that one is not really a *natural* source)
Pork
Fish
Beans, lentils, Green peas
*Enriched* (ok, so,again, not actually natural) cereals, breads, noodles, rice
Sunflower seeds
Yogurt
Awesome! Great video, I'm diabetic and have sleep apnea. I'm going to start taking B1 and see how much my sleep improves. Thank you for the advice!
This happened to me for the first time. I was fast asleep and dreaming when all of a sudden I stopped breathing. I remained asleep but was aware I had stopped breathing. Very glad to be of help.
Thank you sir, for helping me with years of sleep torture. This is an answer to prayer.

While I agree with Dr. Berg, if it were me, I would look into overall nutritional deficiencies. Especially vitamin D. Most people are deficient in vitamin D.
And a lack of Vit D can also cause Sleep Apnea.....
@@valeriestewart1578 Completely agree, as that is exactly my case. My sleep apnea has a significant improvement as long as I keep my D level between 60 and 90. Thank you so much Dr Berg, I am so grateful to you for sharing this information. Thank you again Dr Berg, you are an absolute star and it gives me some hope that there are some knowledgeable and caring doctors out there that think outside of the box and know something about the importance of nutrition.

Have you tried the B1 and has it helped your central sleep apnea? I have central sleep apnea as well.

Same thing for marijuana users and anybody with gut issues.
Great point
My ex daughter-in-law passed away from Covid complications and heard that her untimely death was her sleep apnea . She was overweight.
The connection is that I have had to take B-complex supplements for the last 30 years because I have a sluggish metabolism and low energy. Lately I also noticed when I take vitamin B supplement at night I sleep through the night and do not awaken several times. What an amazing connection!
I started B12 injections and magnesium. My sleep apnea disappeared.
Yes, After I started B12 Injection, I can sleep very deeply.
@@trembling3674 Actually there is a course of 15 B12 injection 💉 My doctor gives me injection 💉
What kind of Dr. did you see for this?
@@sankhuya can u not jus take supplement of vitamin B12?
@@x-relaxxy_breath--9172 The B12 supplement can work but it takes too long to be effective and sublingual will be best. While Intra Muscular B12 💉 injection straight away absorbers in blood and goes directly to the brain and where ever it needs
Awesome, thought that it was going to be an infomercial. Thank you for some great information. I trust the information so much more since it's not tied to selling something. Sounds like something I need to try. Thanks again.
Well done and thank you! Excellent for getting right to the point about which vitamin is needed, shows you care and didn't drag it all out until the end. I'm subscribing, I like your style! :)
Bingo!!!! I’m doing both now, Dr. Berg!!!! I have sleep apnea, and I am taking vitamin B one in liquid form, and I also have nutritional yeast finally again, and I’m trying to take that every day!!! I have not been on a CPAP machine for a long time… I still wake up, basically wants throughout the night to go. P, but we/I will forge ahead with this!!!! Thank you so very much for this nice short video!! Thank you for all your wonderful videos! Love to you & your family!!! ❤
