Dr Berg, your previous videos on the topic saved me from a massive deficiency a year ago. The symptoms were weird and seemingly unrelated (inability to sweat, stumbling, very fast heartbeat, confusion, intolerance for any stress, depression, panic attacks, nightmares, inability to exercise, memory issues, brain fog, loss of muscle mass, shaking, IBS and more). I knew going from specialist to specialist and endless tests would not identify and address the core problem, and would drive me to bankruptcy. I followed your advice. Thank goodness!!! After 10 months of daily 1,500 to 2,000 mg of thiamine and benfotiamine, I am back to feeling human. Dr Berg's B1 videos saved my health. Forever grateful
It’s incredible isn’t it? 👏🏼 👏🏼 I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety, depression for 35 years and in the last 10 years with fibromyalgia. One year mega dosing b1 with benfotiamine and high dosing D3 with k2. It’s like a whole new me and whole new world. 🙏🏼 Congratulations to you.
Every symptom you mention, EVERY one…was my mother. She found out VERY late in life she was a celiac as well. Also found out our entire family (almost) has different combos of the MTHFR genetic defect. Likely THAT root of all. Must take methylfolicacis. The synthetic is literal poison to us and the reason any flour product causes issues, it’s ADDED to USA flour, per FDA! 🤦♀️🙄🤦♀️
@@downunder1988 my personal advice would be to please read up on how to take it and dosing. I have had very little help with a lot of drugstore vitamins. For me, There were a few side effects that seemed like my symptoms were worse. But I vowed to give it at least two weeks. I’m thankful i did. After 3 weeks I increased dosage and again after another 3 weeks. I personally use the benfotiamine kind. Elliot Overton from EONutrition has an amazing mega dose protocol as well as dosing instructions.
Glad you are listening to Dr Berg ( and others Ken Berry MD & Motavational Doc) . My younger sister passed from Parkinson's over 2 years ago. I was suggesting things I learned from Dr Berg and other like minded ones but she wouldn't take me seriously and always said she'd have to ask "her doctor" and he always said no. Best Wishes !
My elderly mother got dementia, restless leg, balance problems, lost hearing in one ear, and sever insomnia. I started doing some research and found that a low dopamine causes all of these things. Next I simply started googling for the things needed to produce dopamine, and had her tested for deficiencies. I found she was low in B1 and iron, started giving her high doses of both, and Bingo her restless leg disappeared, severe insomnia was gone, her memory is getting back to normal and she's hearing out of the ear again. Dopamine is needed for memory and normal brain function, so the low B1 and iron was causing the low dopamine. I read where some people use velvet bean extract to increase dopamine, and get rid of restless leg, but the way I look at it, that is only treating the symptoms and not the cause. I found out a severe B1 also causes muscle wasting and weakness. She also had a place about the size of a quarter on top of her big toe that wouldn't heal for 2 months. Once I started her on B1, the thing healed up in 3 days. I found that B1 is needed for collagen production and wound healing. Incontinence was another problem she had that is now going away. It blows my mind that just that one vitamin deficiency caused all of those things. Her doctor said she just had dementia and there was nothing that could be done to reverse it. Luckily we had the internet and access to all this information from doctors like Dr. Berg who know that the body consists of vitamins and minerals and imbalances are causing medical problems.
Everything mentioned in this video is something I regularly complain to my GP about. His solution: More pills and/or operations. I wish our doctors can stop thinking about their bank accounts and start to do what they studied for. Thank you, Doctor Berg. You are helping me a lot.
Doctors training doesn't cover nutrition in some countries or in others they get a few days of it. Their training is identifying symptoms of diseases and what drugs to give for it. Root causes are rarely ever looked for. That's why we are so blessed to have worldwide online access to Dr Berg and all the other functional/nutritionally trained practicioners to educate us. ❤
Doctors are practitioners of western medicine, which is exactly what you have described. If you want a different approach, best go to holistic practitioner
It may not be that they are thinking of their bank accounts. It could be more of problem that they weren't taught this type of information in school, so they are only able to speak and recommend from what they do know.
I nearly died a few years ago. Was hanging by a thread. Started taking high dose B1(1800-3000mgs) and stopped my seizures. Literally saved my life. I had encephalitis and was down to less than 90 lbs. was not holding food in any longer and couldn’t stand. Actively dying … and B1 stopped all of this. I had ehler’s danlos and had hit mortality point. I’m slowly healing. Taking high dose copper and minerals and am now around 1200 mgs of B1 per day. As I get better, I can take less and less. But it truly has been a lifesaver. I take hcl type because I’m too sensitive to benfotiamine.
Am I right in assuming, after a little googling that standard B1 is basically Thiamine HCl? I found better results with Benfotiamine for my neuropathy of the feet. Perhaps it works differently with different conditions. What symptoms did you get from Benfotiamine when you mentioned you are too sensitive to it?
my daughter lost the feeling in the tops of her legs and the dr did not know what is was so i looked up on Dr berg youtube and the problem was B1 deficiency. Thank you Dr Berg
As an orthopedic nurse, some of our doctors are now routinely prescribing Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) post surgery. I tell the patients it's to help them handle the stress of surgery. This video sums up all the post surgical side effects it can help with. We also commonly give this to anyone with history of alcohol abuse, especially if they are likely to be detoxing, for the same reason, trying to eliminate potential symptoms of Thiamine deficiency that they likely have.
@kennethrhodes7143niacin is probably what giving you the redness and tingling. It always made me feel and look like I had a sunburn. I'm not a professional but maybe don't take the niacin 🤷♀️
@@weloveriot keep in mind, studies show that the Niacin "side effects", go hand-in-hand with the benefits. You're missing out on positive effects as well.
Great to hear! Would you be willing to share your protocol that has helped you? So many people suffer from these symptoms, including me. I have done many things related to diet etc., which have helped, but I am still looking for improvement. I learn the most from others' experiences.
A quick note in case it might help some patients....I have read reports that rather than using only one form of B1 (i.e. Thiamine Hydrochloride, Benfotiamine, Allithiamine, TTFD, Sulbutiamine, etc.), a combination of two or more forms taken in divided dosages daily can speed up the healing process. I strongly encourage anyone who discovers they are B1 deficient to also exercise in-home without weights. Lastly, diet is tremendously vital. Being disciplined with your diet WELL BEYOND your peers is simply necessary. The food industry, including the grocery stores, restaurants, convenience stores, and farmers are slowly poisoning everyone, including children. However, we have to take RESPONSIBILITY and ACTION to select the best ingredients available to us. I would recommend inviting more people to view Dr. Berg's 2024 videos so they can start to get a grasp on just how toxic our lifestyles have become, and what solutions are now available. Good luck!
It varies depending on where I travel to and what's available at any given moment. At this exact moment I only have MK Thiamine HCL and Arcalion Sulbutiamine. Without going into brand names further, my hypothetical preference would be to try a combination of Sulbutiamine, Benfotiamine, and TTFD. In the past I've tried Nutritional Yeast and freshly crushed garlic, but both were difficult on my stomach. I even tried Beef Liver, but the taste was revolting. Thiamine HCL also appears to be difficult on my stomach. Important Note: You might need a highly specific Vitamin B COMPLEX in addition to B1, which includes B3 (Niacin). I currently use GENFAR Complejo B. I take 3 tablets a day in divided dosages. @moniryousefian8782
Wow! You've just cured most of my medical issues...and I'm not kidding! I have absolutely every issue you mentioned including chronic kidney disease, cataracts, unexplained peripheral neuropathy, hearing loss, sleep apnea, Barrett's esophagus related to GERD, etc. I have to have B12 shots monthly. I don't know its relationship to B1, but it sounds like they're in the same ballpark! Thanks so much, Dr. Berg! I'll let you know how it works out!
I had a problem with my np not accepting that I was having many symptoms with blood pressure meds and asked if they can be changed her reply was no. After that I completely stopped on my own. The dizziness, headaches and falling have no longer been an issue but I know its important to see someone who can help but I feel no one can help.
I had been suffering from neurological disturbances for over a year. Hospital admission, neurological specialist, couldn't find cause. I was positive it was nerve related siezures, excessive sweating, palpitations, lots. Was Hospitalised 2 months ago for different reasons and was given Vitamin B1 as it was deficient. Changed my diet abit, SUGAR 😢 and have NOT had a seizure, confusion, anxiety since. Im so grateful to the doctor at the hospital for being on the ball.❤❤❤
I have all those symptoms daily. The one that I couldn't figure out was getting up or laying down in bed I would get dizzy. I am evening laying down flat and my head feels dizzy. Its only when I go to bed or get up from bed. I am apprehensive when I walk especially just walking down the aisle at work, I walk like I am semi-drunk and I feel embarrassed I can't walk steadily. I thought I had vertigo problems and saw a specialist. She gave me a quick basic physical check. She didn't see anything and just said I was probably not getting enough air or blood to my brain when getting up or down quickly. I love how the doctors never say... oh you need to take more B vitamins, take those for about a month and let me know if it makes somewhat of a difference. Doctors will never say, take this vitamin or eat more or less this kind of food or drink. They have all your bloodwork but the medical system will not require or offer testing for what vitamins or minerals your body is lacking. They just want to prescribe you pharmaceutical drugs for a lifetime. Legalized drug dealers.
Great vid on B1. Also, check your salt and potassium levels, Book-The Salt Fix. I started taking 1/2 to 1 tsp two times per day, POTS symptoms stopped for me.
Some of the quest laboratories will let you order vitamin blood test without needing a prescription. But I’m sure they are costly, but might be worth it.
Dr. Berg, thank you again. 😊 I've been praying 🙏 for some answers, without breaking the bank and seeking out physicians who only band-aid the problem with prescription drugs, as to why I'm feeling the way I do, and do believe you're onto something. Thank you for your help and expertise. God bless your heart ❤
I started having restless leg syndrome, and edema at the same time around when my thyroid diagnosis in 2006, after a traumatic event. Just recently, I am struggling with GERD since surgery. But I never knew their connection! But being anemic from blood thinners, it caused alot of issues. 2 surgeries to stop the excessive bleeding. All because of multiple occurrences of clots caused from medications to treat PCOD and Endo. Once u get clots, you are prone for life. A reason I do not take any new meds or jabs which are unpredictable. I cannot do keto, but eat 2x a day at most, high fibre and try high iron. The nutritionist put me on baby cereal which made a huge difference. Its very high iron and vitamins. Following that aspect of eating pattern is all I tolerate. And tachycardia initiated after medically induced thyroid failure in 2018. Cannot tolerate extreme temps anymore. And salt intolerance came from thyroid failure as well changing my life. It’s like diabetes but with salt! no medication to regulate it aside water and beta blockers. WOW. I will make it my new priority. I thought nutritional yeast was enough. I tolerate it well. THANK U DR BERG for making it CLEAR to me that I must take it. How much I do not know. I will figure it out. IF I tolerate it; as I cannot ingest B12, or iron supplements. I have motion sickness and eye vision issues too lately, ear ringing, and sleep apnea - unreal. All due to B1!!? THANK YOU I have tears that an in person doctor won’t solve a simple deficiency but make you feel that it’s rather in your head. My journey is unbelievable and sounds like a storyline for a script if I would tell anyone all the details of the entire history.
Hey for your GERD - start drinking kefir, fermented foods, real salt (Redmond is good), put a copper pipe (4") in your water pitcher, take MINERAL MAX (up to 4/day but adjust to you feeling better) & digestive enzymes. You'll feel a lot better along with the B1
@@te7931I have had GERD and other GI issues (IBS, Barretts Esophagitis), and autoimmune diseases. I go to an acupuncture practioner originally from China. She treats my GI problems as well as pain & inflammatory pain. Acupuncture has worked better for me than drugs re: GI issues. My acupuncture doc says that, in her experience, patients who generally don't react well to western medicine will react well to Eastern medicine.
Thank you Dr Berg, B1 was a game changer for me. I used to get deeply depressed like I was carrying around lead weights all the time, it was so debilitating. This supplement lifted that depression so quickly it was like a miracle. I get depressed occasionally now, but it doesn't have that heaviness and goes away quickly.
@@stellaancimer8505 Yes, I had intrusive thoughts. I just take the regular B1 thiamine. I also take a vit B complex, maybe it all works synergistically. Hope this helps.
Dr. Berg you have literally just solved a 12 year old mystery I have had with a numb spot on my feet. Every time I ask a doctor they say they don't know and blow it off! Now I know it's bc I'm low on B1 which makes sense bc it started when I was pregnant. I later got pitting edema. All the puzzle pieces are coming together. Thank you.
It changed my life to follow your B-1 suggestions, now I take both L-theanine & DL-phenylalanine ~ when I began I had overall body pain and in three days of taking these my pain was reduced 80% - now I have even less. 👍👍👍👍My doctor can’t believe the difference in me.
Im from India. Im a great fan of dr.Berg. Now my husband too has started taking B1 capsules. Thank you n God bless u with a long life so you can advice millions.
Thank you so much Dr berg. I was thinking of starting B1 after listening to in to Dorothy Bryans video on the B1 on Parkinson’s really praying it helps both the parkinsons and the neuropathy , that would be a miracle .. 0:36
@@DrbergWanted to let you know. Thank you soo much for letting us know about taking more vitamin D for SAD.(the video was a lifesaver) First winter I felt great! 😊
I can attest to this. Under the carnivore diet I was so energetic but when I reintroduced carbs back in my diet the lethargy came back until I started taking this vitamin. Ty for sharing
This is honestly the most helpful video I have ever watched and I have watched a lot of videos on all topics. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m going to share it with my husband when he wakes up. Almost everything you listed is some thing I’ve been dealing with, neuropathy has made it to the point I can barely work am a relatively young lady. Also, the brain thing, starting with an a ( antexia?) is part of the problem. I was sent to an emergency room because I wasn’t thinking properly. They did an MRI, they said I had a problem with my brain. They didn’t know what it was, sent me home, dazed and confused. I certainly understand you’re not dishing out medical advice, etc. but I can tell you one thing, I’m going to start by taking fat soluble B1. Thank you.❤
I have been a diabetic for over 22 years. Another Dr. Recommend alpha lipoic acid 600 mg a day. I started taking when first diagnosed and I still don’t have neuropathy.
I’ve been low on B1. Multiple doctors couldn’t find the problem. ER visits, hospital stays. It was a neurologist that checked and found B1 and copper deficiency. It took months to fix.
Dr. Berg, I've thanked you before, but I'll thank you again for your research on Vitamin B1, a few years ago you did a video about B1 and one of the symptoms was air hunger, wow did that video put me on the right path, i continued to research it, and other good doctors like yourself confirmed what you said, i couldn't believe how much B1 has helped me, my prayers to you and your family 🙏
@@RetrnRetrn ... yes, I felt short of breath, always trying to yawn like that would give me a deep breath of air, but no success. Very short breaths, also I had sleep apnea, and I don't need my c pap anymore. I still have sleeping issues, but I'm not sure where it's coming from, had a little child hood trauma, but I think I'm healed from that, so I upped my B1 dose recently to 400 mg of pure encapsulations Benfothiamine, and I think it's starting to help, along with magnesium and potassium everyday among other supplements, but B1 Benfothiamine was a game changer for me because I really felt like my breathing issues were becoming unbearable. Also, Dr. Berg has an older video on this, so does EO nutrition
@@amirhamza7610 I bought my b 1 from Sprouts Market. The brand is Solaray. I chose Vitamin B-Complex 100. +Energy +Red blood cells +Nerve Impulse Transmission It’s a pretty clean brand.
@@healthyketoexperiment7964 Thanks. I have a cardiologist who says I’m perfectly healthy. Last week I checked in with a homeopathic therapist. Who also recommended a few vitamins along with acupuncture. I know I’m going to be just fine one day at a time.
I started taking benfotiamine about two months ago, and my restless leg/crawling sensation in my legs has basically stopped. I also take a B- complex vitamin for all the other B minerals.
I made a post soon after you sharing my similar experience with Benfotiamine (an oil and water soluble for of B1) alternative to traditional B1 (Thiamine) which is only water soluble and hence absorbed less through the lipids in cell walls.
B1 with B3 in the form of low dose Nicotinic Acid is a gamechanger. Allithiamine would be best taken with Molybdenum to help the sulfation pathway detox as most people are deficient in both. Magnesium Chloride in the form of a spray is the best way to absorb Magnesium. Hope this helps y'all.
A very important point about B1 deficiency. When you start supplementing you can get a so called paradoxical effect, especially if you take a high dose. So your symptoms can actually get worse before they get better. So if you start supplementing and things don’t improve or get worse, just hang in there and wait it out because it will get better. It can take a few weeks or sometimes a few months depending on how deficient you are.
@@healthyketoexperiment7964 Thanks for this information. Im trying to find a clean vitamin b1 that is without magnesium stearate, soy and is also gluten-free
It is also important to make sure you are supplementing with the other B vitamins as well as magnesium. Magnesium is a cofactor in B1 converting food into energy.
I went through a horrible experience. Long story short I was having tingling sensations like pins and needles in my arms and I went numb across the front of my body. Turned out to be inflammation in my spinal cord at C3 neck bone (8mm x 8mm). 6 months later I had another smaller attack just under the last one (6mm x 6mm). 6 months later I almost went blind in my left eye (optic Neuritis). I had small inflammation blotches in my brain. My neurologist did numerous scans and tests. I passed them all as normal but he believed I had early signs of Multiple Sclerosis. I also felt very tired. I felt quite normal otherwise. I got sick of seeing my Neurologist and decided to research. The only thing I was doing more than usual was drinking alcohol. Not a lot but maybe 5 drinks a week (Spirits), normally Id have one a month. Bottom line: I was low on B1, alcohol was preventing my body to absorb B1 which is very important for the Meylin protecting the nerves. I was also building up my immune system with supplements at the same time. I now take a Complex B supplement and a few times a week I will have a B1 Benphotamin supplement (its the fat soluble version - its 350mg). I was taking the B1 every day but after a few months I developed very itchy heels and a very strong urine smell when peeing. I was overdosing hence why I have 1 or 2 tabs a week only now. It has been well over 12 months now, symptom free and I never went back to my doctor!
Every B1 video of yours feels like it's designed for me. Every video contains different sets of symptoms and yet, all the symptoms are ones that I've experienced or am currently experiencing! It's crazy.
I have fibromyalgia and if this b1 works for all this pain I’ve been battling for the last 8 years I’m going on a b1 campaign for everyone. My legs are swollen right now and I have almost everything as far as the nerve issues he mentioned and it’s been crazy trying to navigate life in all this pain. I can’t wait to get some tomorrow. Thank you in advance doc , I have faith it’ll work for me to.
B1 when you suggested that I tried help me sleep and not wake up in the middle of the night. Thank you so much for all your information Dr. Berg. My life is infinitely better because of everything you do.
I have most of these symptoms! Taking B12 but not B1. Will get some for all of us this week. Thank you. Not even my intergrative doctor picked this up. Cant wait.
Dr.Berg you are a life saver! I was in so much pain throughout my body, tense, tingling and numbness in my feet, muscle weakness, trouble with my co-ordination. B1 has helped tremendously! God bless you!

The Incredible importance of B1, wow!!! I knew absolutely NOTHING about B1 until I watched Dr. Berg's videos on TH-cam. Thank you, Dr. Berg, you are an INCREDIBLE source of information to humanity!!!
Thank you, Dr. Berg. This couldn’t be any more timely as I have been dealing with my Dad and diabetic neuropathy related complications. B1 was recommended by a doctor friend as well, and your detailed video answered all my questions. Thank you very much.
My youngest daughter died from thiamine deficiency last year, 11/26/2022. She had a massive seizure that caused her brain damage that was irreconcilable. She had no level of thiamine in her system.
Well I just ordered 2 bottles of b1 from your website. Because you literally just solved the issues that have plagued my family for 20+ years. Not all the issues but a great deal of problems and almost all the stuff you mentioned in this video is an issue for my family. My husband, sleep apnea, anxiety, depression, horrible nightmares all the time and guess what we drink all day..sweet tea. I also have some of these things going on along with my mom who is diabetic. I am going to try this out and I know that it will help with these issues but if this helps with the hubby's nightmares, that alone would be well worth it. I would love to have a good night's sleep 😴 💤.
Considering the array of symptoms caused by thiamine deficiency, the drug companies would lose a fortune if people all became thiamine replete. Millions of drug prescriptions gone.
In Canada, they want to start regulating vitamins and minerals, (trust issues) which are not to expensive! Once the Gov't gets involved - Big Pharma will capitalize on restricting them. God help us!
Dr. Berg Thankyou I have most symptoms you mentioned. Just took Benfotamine and magnesium (the right type, per you) as I get ready to sleep. Thankyou for not making us listen to long lectures before sharing the recommended vitamins🎉
I started taking b1 a few weeks ago. it's life changing. Biggest difference I immediately noticed was brain fog is gone. Able to focus again. Neuropathy also gone. Everyone should supplement it.
This vid hit I have a lot of these. Update: I’ve taken B1 for 2 weeks now along with K2 and magnesium. Initially I only took D3 didn’t feel any difference for 6 months Dr eve said I was still low on D3 I took 20,000 almost every day. My legs and especially calves were sore and burning every morning, I have sleep apnea (I did take out my tonsil in August which helped), I was constantly overthinking thinking for more then 12 hours sometimes the whole day it was like I had no control. Two weeks has past There were noticeable improvements, I’m not sure if it’s the combination of things but with the added B1, K2, and Magnesium (even though its oxide), I have huge improvement with energy, I’m not running in my head it slowed down, it feels like everyone is in slow motion sometimes because I’m not use to normal speed, I actually feel like doing things, my calves and legs are less sore, I went jogging and for the first time I could push myself in years, and when I’m pushing myself my eyes doesn’t feel like it was going to shut down. For years I felt like I was allergic or didn’t have the Will Power to move or push myself when it came to anything. They should Dub your 30s “I found what Vitamins were for“ Update 2: My leg and back were still in pain with noticeable improvements of pain level it went from a 8-9 to a solid 6-7. I made further research and decided to add Potassium glycinate, and that was the final step towards lowering my leg and back pain from a 6-7 to a steady 1-3 pain. It was “fucking” amazing. I have been jogging for 5m I’m not out of gas before even starting an activity, it’s a slow start but hey for years I didn’t have the energy to work out or do physical activity it was like my body was lethargic to it. Out of the all the vitamin I notice that the 99mg potassium I bought for $1.56 did the most to my body. I was sick from post Covid-19 in 2022 lost my job and my health. I was ready to give up but luckily I didn’t. I improved a lot from 2022. I still have these super bad brain fog that last for months and I feel like I forget who I am or what I’m doing. Now I snap out of it some what faster these days it’s no everyday for long months it’s maybe 1 month now which is a huge improvement. I suspected potassium because of the leg cramping at just a movement and muscle weakness, heart palpitations and other symptoms. Who knew it was potassium. Also I don’t really eat vegetables and fruits and I only ate once a day doing many activities, it was like I needed to do this to be successful if I was eating too good or having to healthy of a lifestyle I would lose my drive to work hard.
Wow, going to try, I've been getting only 2 hrs of sleep a night , I have sleep apnea, rls, heart issues, fibromyalgia, so much more. Going to give this a try. Loved hearing everyone's stories of improvement.
@@violetmorris369 potassium improved it a lot however it still comes and go but shorter intervals. I notice that since C19 I get sick easily and when I do I get bad brain fog. Potassium helps. I take lions mane mushrooms and that seems to help a lot however pricey vitamins. Then again I’m not use to taking any vitamins at all. Potassium stopped my feet from cramping, waking up with extreme painful legs, stopped peeing 2-3 times a night. I also have permanent back dmg from a car accident so if I’m not careful I can flare up the back and then I would be in bed for a week and in pain. Potassium did decrease the constant pain and flare up by a lot I say 80-90%. I’ve also added Acupuncture into the mix. It’s help with my brain fog and my eye that was feeling the most affect by brain fog seem to improved
Thank you for sharing much needed info. I have pots and gastroparesis, along with increased irritability, anxiety and slight depression. I actually found one of your videos about B1 for POTS last year and was very hopeful but ironically had just gotten blood work so when I mentioned it to my doctor he said my levels were normal. After watching your videos again tonight I realize that test isn’t accurate for B1 deficiency so I’m determined to give it a real chance this time. Genuinely so grateful.. it’s hard to have hope sometimes. 🙏🏼
I am new here Dr. Berg and you seem like one amazing and knowledgeable doctor. I have severe fatigue, depression, concentration issues, and horrible constipation issues. There are more symptoms but those are the main ones. I was a weekend binge drinker for years but I have been completely sober for almost 13 months and i love it. I will never drink again. I think those years of alcohol abuse has destroyed my system and stripped me of vitamins. I just ordered B1, D3+K2, magnesium and collagen powder and i am hoping it helps. I have been to the doctor for 3-4 years and they just dont care. So b1 deficiency can also cause constipation. Due to my severe constipation, i now have bleeding (only sometimes).
I was showing all the signs of B1 deficiency after starting methotrexate for Rheumatoid arthritis. My Rheumatologist ignored all my concerns (peripheral neuropathy was debilitating) and kept saying all I need is higher dose of methotrexate for aches and pains. I heard that folic acid deficiency impacts absorption of B1 and methotrexate blocks folic acid. Though I was supplementing with folate my symptoms got worse every time I took methotrexate. More over due to wheat allergy I was eating white rice in every meal. No wonder I was deficient. At one point I felt I can’t move my legs to walk and I told my family that it feels like I am about to get paralyzed. I started taking be benfothiamine with other form of B1. I felt like a new person in just two days. Thank full for all the videos online. God is great!
I’m studying, learning and using the Mega dose B1 protocol that Elliot Overton from EOnutrition has. Let me tell you, I’m a new person. I’ve also followed dr Bergs high dose D3 with K2 as well as magnesium. I’ve been keto/ketovore for almost 5 years. But since doing these protocols the past year. I’ve been able to discontinue two of three of my anxiety/mental meds. While that’s huge, another amazing benefit is my fibromyalgia pain and symptoms have disappeared. Seriously, gone. I’m taking the benfotiamine version. I’m a 57 year old female and have learned You have to be your own advocate and researcher for your health. Unfortunately, you can’t take your physicians word for what’s going on with you. They need your help too. I’ve been on mental meds for about 35 years. I’m almost off of all meds now, I have one pill remaining and it has to be titrated ever so slowly. I’m praising the benefits of high dosing b1 and d3. I’m living proof. 🙏🏼 🕊️

Now I know my why my cycle stopped vit d. I never gave up. Next to figure out what's causing these deficiencies.I owe it all the our Father. Praying for others ❤❤❤
my dad had Vertigo really bad sometime after he returned from WW2. he would have it SO bad sometimes that my mom had to drive with him laying in the back seat to the emergency room to get something intravenously...then finally a doctor told him to take Thiamine with Niacin and it helped, he basically took it the rest of his life, sometimes doubling up on it because he would have flare ups, but I remember his face getting real flushed and red when he did, I guess because back then there wasn't "no flush" niacin, although maybe there was and the flush actually helped with the vertigo/dizziness, I don't know but u may want to try this, I don't know the dosage, might just have to experiment with it...I've always heard that if u get too much b vitamins you just pee them out, I guess that's true, I know it causes the pee to be VERY yellow... Amazing info, thank you for sharing. I always feel like my muscles are screaming for energy, and when I do anything physical, even my heart feels like that, so I’m definitely going to try B1
Thank you! I watched a similar video you made this summer and realized I had a B1 deficiency. I had nerves in my face and nose that felt like but it and pins and needles and I was hyper sensitive to smells and even wind or small brushes of air. I also was diagnosed with POTS. I took the forms of thamine you mentioned and within 30 mins all my nerves were tingling in a good way. I knew I was taking the correct vitamin. After 2 weeks I hiked 30 miles with zero Issues. Life changing !
I haven’t slept in 2 days now and almost every symptom you said I have. I must be vitamin B1 deficient I’ve been losing my damn mind trying to figure out what’s wrong with me. Thx dr. Berg
When I decided to take Vit B1, I felt that I was in an oxygen chamber. It was so radically incredible. I suppose I really needed B1. I readjusted my tea consumption. Thank you so very much, Dr. Berg 🙏
Dr. Berg, I've been profoundly aided by your videos. At min 5:21 you suggest… to uplift the outlook of a friend… slipping a B1 tablet into their coffee. But coffee blocks B1. Maybe one could slip it into… I don’t know… their garlic? I’m being silly. In the aftermath of a neural shutdown, 3 days into a disastrous antibiotic, I managed to get your allithiamine and Nerve Support over here in France, via Holland. I do hope this option remains open. My sincere thanks.
My 21-year-old daughter has many of these issues, including pots due to Ehler’s Danlos syndrome. We find that magnesium helps her with her blood circulation and minimizes the symptoms. She recently started having seizures out of nowhere and was diagnosed with psychogenic non-epileptic seizures due to stress and anxiety. I know they mentioned that she was low in b vitamins as well. Will definitely be passing this video along. Thank you for the information.
I am following a B1 therapy for Parkinson with megadoses B1HCl. This therapy gives me positive results. In case of Parkinson’s this is not a deficiency of B1.
My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about 7 months ago. He’s 52. He hasn’t started taking any Levodopa yet, but suffering with muscle weakness, tremors and achy muscles on his right side. May I ask what dose of B1 HCL seems to be helping you? I heard some people need very high doses to feel improvement.
When I attempted to stop drinking, I was advised by the doctor to take B1. It was as clear as day to me that I was mentally slower, decently forgetful and my focus was pretty off. Although I didn’t get off the booze all together right away, I noticed that my mental state decently sharpened pretty quickly. It’s not like I went straight to being stone cold sober and my diet was still a struggle. It was obvious that B1 decently had a fast impact on my overall mental state.
I have nearly all symptoms - being tired (and also no power on the bike), reflux (I don't know how often I had to sit up in the bed and had to swallow down again what I have been eating two hours ago), excessive tears, nerve problems (cramps in the feet and legs, about a week ago I even had cramps in my fingers, I sat in the office and could barely type on the keyboard), trouble with adapting to high or (especially now during winter) low temperatures (I needed several pullovers to feel warm), edema (even in the arm after I broke my elbow seven weeks ago, one hospital refused to operate me as my hand was really extremly swollen, but also in my left foot/lower leg), mental confusion, trouble with breathing (on my bike, although riding with a low heart rate of about 140, I felt like breathing through a drinking straw). And there is another issue: are jug ears caused by any deficiency (vitamins or minerals)? I used to have such ears - I thought they were caused by wearing FFP2 masks (which I am still wearing), but when I looked in the mirror today, I had to confirm that my ears have become normal again, as I take "All-in-one" from Pure Encapsulations (they have a high dosage of Vitamin B1) for several days now.
I'm thankful for you and all you do to educate and inform. I just started taking your Vitamin d and K I think it's helping. I noticed a few bumps on my tongue not sure what that is. But tonight I was scrolling and this video came up. I believe all things happen for a reason if we are searching for answers. I suffer from every symptom you stated and I am about to cry thinking of how my health care doctors are failing me. Putting me on prescriptions that are so dangerous. I said no I will walk and eat better and meditate stretch sing laugh dance. I lost 200 lbs stoped 13 meds and then COVID hit and I gained 90 lbs with more sicknesses. I'm back on my journey but my health is a roller coaster. I will be taking the B1 after I read over your transcripts and get the best type for me out of what you mentioned. 😢times are tough for so many but doctors human compassion keepers like you save lives help improve quality of life and inform us what we need to know about our bodies and maintenance for longevity and wellness. You Rock such a super human you are thanks again.
I suffer from most of the symptoms you had mentioned. Heartburn, intolerant to heat and the cold, irritability and inability to think. I just bought some B1 at my local health store today. Hopefully success or improvement within a couple of weeks of taking it.
Dr. Berg. Hi.. This evening... I concocted a little experiment --because I had a strong tingling itching sensation around my ankles... which borders on serious itching. One of many health issues... but I am seeing this itching with more frequency --and greater intensity-- along with neuropathy on the bottom of my feet.. So I took 250 MGs of regular B1... just to see if the tingling sensation would go away.... and I was kind of shocked when I noticed (after about an hour or so... that it did. I have tried MANY different supplements... but never noticed any noticeable effect on those two symptoms.. Then I said to myself... I should go on TH-cam and see what Dr. Berg has to say about vitamin B1. My symptoms are very similar to the symptoms that you described in your video. So very helpful, Sir. Keep up the good work.
Where is…Confuses? My head broke the windshield in my car at 37 then hit my head same place on the drivers window at 57…. I had thought the recovery was good at 37 but being the very same place at 57 I could never expect to work again. I’m slow like dementia (but isn’t). What I think I’m seeing here is lacking in Vitamin B1 could be the reason I feel failures…almost everywhere in this TH-cam message. Dr. Bergs Adrenal message and supplements have made a huge impact on my health at 83. I’ve always been strong and have gone down severely in my recent surrounds with “stress”. I have the OURA Ring and see that I can often just wake up startled and my stress signal is charted in high zone before I’ve even gotten up. I think I must be doing it to myself…I think it’s all in my head…even the urology speaks to Vitamin B where I instantly pee my pants during certain time frames so then I question if I’ve gone completely incontinent or is this in my head as well.
Hello, I know this is an old comment but reading what you wrote sounds like post concussion syndrome. Please see a doctor and get checked out. I had similar issues for years after a bad accident, and what you describe sounds like concussion syndrome from mild traumatic brain injury. There is treatment that can help and when you say you think it’s in your head - it may very well be because of injury- not your imagination. B1 helps but you need targeted therapy.
@reds2312 thanks for your comment, I should do the same as I had a bad concussion 7-8 years ago, just starting to notice neurological symptoms in the last couple of years. I never had proper specialist treatment, just an x-ray a year afterwards and a "nope, skull isn't fractured, you're fine!" I'm not fine, I'll go talk about it with my GP and get a neurologist referral. THANKS HEAPS for both your comments!
since listening to your info... I have been able to be more assertive with my doctor about getting blood tests. Apparently you have to have good reason to have B12 deficiency to get a blood test. For the last 15 years, I have been trying to get to the bottom of my issues. Now with more knowledge from you, I can show the doctor why I need this test. I don't know why the dr's are not investigating my issues and they say all my blood tests are fine. Thank you so much for showing us the symptoms and how to treat them. Yes, I have changed my doctor. But I'm seeing a pattern these are the guidelines they have to follow. Thank you so much for helping my life along
I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety, depression for 35 years and in the last 10 years with fibromyalgia. One year mega dosing b1 with benfotiamine and high dosing D3 with k2. It’s like a whole new me and whole new world. 🙏🏼
Congratulations to you.
I have all of this right now. Sent hubbie to the store to get some vitamin B. Fingers crossed Dr Berg just saved me too!
Martine, did you just supplement with a multivitamin or get a separate high dose B1?

Lol, doctors do not have this knowledge . They are brainwashed by the big pharma funded medical schools. Few ever breakout of the mind control.
And they get so bent out of shape when you tell them what you've learned.

As an orthopedic nurse, some of our doctors are now routinely prescribing Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) post surgery. I tell the patients it's to help them handle the stress of surgery. This video sums up all the post surgical side effects it can help with. We also commonly give this to anyone with history of alcohol abuse, especially if they are likely to be detoxing, for the same reason, trying to eliminate potential symptoms of Thiamine deficiency that they likely have.
Can I ask you, is it safe to take Allithiamine with a separate multivitamin containing all your recommended B1?
Yea i got IV thiamine when I was in detox at the hospital for GHB use
@kennethrhodes7143niacin is probably what giving you the redness and tingling. It always made me feel and look like I had a sunburn. I'm not a professional but maybe don't take the niacin 🤷♀️
There is a "non-flushing" niacin that does not cause the same side effects.
@@weloveriot keep in mind, studies show that the Niacin "side effects", go hand-in-hand with the benefits. You're missing out on positive effects as well.
I was suffering from daily crashes in energy and chronic fatigue for years and years. Watching your b1 videos saved me. Thank you so much.
Great to hear! Would you be willing to share your protocol that has helped you? So many people suffer from these symptoms, including me. I have done many things related to diet etc., which have helped, but I am still looking for improvement. I learn the most from others' experiences.
Share your protocol please
Good luck!
Correct✅💚
Could you please share which brand of vitamin b1 you're taking?! Greatly appreciated 🙏
Absolutely agree with you on this, 100%!!!
Is there a supplement you'd recommend that has two or more of these forms of B1?
Thank you and I look forward to your update! Take care!
How are you doing? Did it help your GERD at all?
I had a problem with my np not accepting that I was having many symptoms with blood pressure meds and asked if they can be changed her reply was no. After that I completely stopped on my own. The dizziness, headaches and falling have no longer been an issue but I know its important to see someone who can help but I feel no one can help.
Any update?
Keep in mind that B12 and B1 together can cause inflammation

I had been suffering from neurological disturbances for over a year. Hospital admission, neurological specialist, couldn't find cause. I was positive it was nerve related siezures, excessive sweating, palpitations, lots. Was Hospitalised 2 months ago for different reasons and was given Vitamin B1 as it was deficient. Changed my diet abit, SUGAR 😢 and have NOT had a seizure, confusion, anxiety since. Im so grateful to the doctor at the hospital for being on the ball.❤❤❤
SUPER!!
thank you for sharing. i am having neuro issues and was just admitted to the hospital last weekend for seizures.

Medical training doesn't include nutrition at all or a very small amount only.

WOW!!!. I can't believe that most of those symptoms I am having🤦♀️. I will purchase B1 ASAP. Thanks a million for your advice 🙏

May i ask, what u mean by air hunger ?

Thanks.
I have a cardiologist who says I’m perfectly healthy.
Last week I checked in with a homeopathic therapist. Who also recommended a few vitamins along with acupuncture. I know I’m going to be just fine one day at a time.
Just bought some too!
So cool 🎉🎉
Unfortunately it's hard to find in pharmacies
How much b 1 did u take daily
I’m very sorry, God bless you and all who have dealt with a close family loss
Be sure to avoid maltodextrin, dextrose, etc. Which are in most brands and that can cause issues, especially at high amounts, not the b1.
@@healthyketoexperiment7964
Thanks for this information. Im trying to find a clean vitamin b1 that is without magnesium stearate, soy and is also gluten-free
It is also important to make sure you are supplementing with the other B vitamins as well as magnesium. Magnesium is a cofactor in B1 converting food into energy.
@@BacknRC agreed. well said and don’t forget potassium.
Do you know if both forms of B1, benfotiamine and thiamin, cause paradoxical effect?
It's crazy.

Cant wait.
Are you feeling better yet? Have to remember we sometimes need to supplement with magnesium and potassium. There are other cofactors, too.

I started taking b1 a few weeks ago. it's life changing. Biggest difference I immediately noticed was brain fog is gone. Able to focus again. Neuropathy also gone. Everyone should supplement it.
What dosage did you start at?
Thank you for sharing the benefits you noticed. What form and dose of B1 are you taking?
How much did you start with
I'm thinking that everyone should be taking about 2,000 mg of b1 per day.
They should Dub your 30s “I found what Vitamins were for“
Update 2: My leg and back were still in pain with noticeable improvements of pain level it went from a 8-9 to a solid 6-7.
Thanks for the updates. Wish ulots of good health. You've been very strong. You deserve to thrive.
@@valerienellenback7525you'll be fine. You've come a long way. It's not easy living this life. Wish you strength.
Was potassium defiecency causing your brain fog
Would you share which brand and how much you take please

my dad had Vertigo really bad sometime after he returned from WW2. he would have it SO bad sometimes that my mom had to drive with him laying in the back seat to the emergency room to get something intravenously...then finally a doctor told him to take Thiamine with Niacin and it helped, he basically took it the rest of his life, sometimes doubling up on it because he would have flare ups, but I remember his face getting real flushed and red when he did, I guess because back then there wasn't "no flush" niacin, although maybe there was and the flush actually helped with the vertigo/dizziness, I don't know but u may want to try this, I don't know the dosage, might just have to experiment with it...I've always heard that if u get too much b vitamins you just pee them out, I guess that's true, I know it causes the pee to be VERY yellow...

Dr. Berg.
I was so meant to see Dr B's message. Described everything I have. I'll be getting some B1 today.

Thank You Dr. Berg for all your efforts in educating us!
Glad to help!
@@Drbergmay God bless you ❤
since listening to your info... Thank you so much for helping my life along
wow where do you live? In my country anyone can take that test
You can pay quest diagnostics directly to have it done also
And natural doctors will order it for you!!
Thanks Doc. I have had chronic digestive problems. I will up my B1
B1 has some great benefits. I enjoyed hearing how Dr. Berg talks about the many good things we can benefit from .❤
Me too! Some of Dr Berg’s videos /articles on causes of b1 deficiency may be of interest.
