ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

I'm all for everyone having representation. Heck, I loved it when The White Tiger showed up in a comic with Spider-Man when I was a kid! But with this, you have one of the oldest Marvel characters with many decades of established history. Making that change in the comics in the main universe would be something close to changing the origin of Batman or making Superman be from a planet other than Krypton. Miles Morales seems like an example of a workable route, where you don't eliminate the original (Peter Parker) that millions love. You bring in diversity / representation through an expansion of that part of the universe. That approach appears to be much better embraced by all fans, old and new.
@@jimwheeler9840 Namor was always biracial and specifically held a hatred for for the "white man". The parallels between Namor's people and the colonization and genocide by Spanish colonization fit perfectly with those decades of comics history.

While the points you make are valid, they don't invalidate what I said, which is that a substantial percentage of people, myself included, find it frustrating when a character they know, love and experienced a certain way in the comics - whether the back story, history of the character, personality, costume, whatever - is substantially altered (especially in ways that aeem unnecessary) so that it no longer looks or feels like that character to them. Example: MJ in the first Spider-Man movies. They selected Kirsten Dunst to play the role - an actress who looks nothing like the character and, even more so, who portrayed MJ in a way that was far removed in most ways from her comic book portrayal. Don't much care for the recent interpretation either. Why? Because I wanted to see the MJ I knew from the comics. That's all. Same with the way they reimagined Vulture almost entirely, Rhino as well, etc. Same with the black leather costumes in the X-Men movies. If they can do it better than the comics in these different aspects when moving to the big screen, great. But they didn't. And characters become beloved over decades for a reason. You are never going to not have some backlash when you mess too much with the look, story, or portrayal of a character people long have known a certain way. And that dynamic extends WAY outside of comics to any screen adaptation. If people can't grasp that simple dynamic, I'm not sure how there can be much point in trying to discuss any of this.

Earth 199999- The MCU verse, where i get MCU figs.
Earth 453- The Earth where all Spidermen and different heroes hang out sometimes
Earth 199999B- The street level MCU verse, I know that its weird that my street level and main line MCU heroes have different universes, the street level MCU verse consists of heroes like Moon Knight, Daredevil, Hawkeye etc.
Earth 616B- This earth has comic heroes, but only like 6 heroes in this universe. Its a very small universe with not a lot of heroes
All these heroes have team ups and crossovers all the time
I'm glad they went this route with the MCU version--representation matters!
It honestly seems weird until it happens to you. Like damn. This person looks like me, shares my culture, and is kicking ass in a blockbuster movie. Not saying that you can't relate to them if they're not physically like you but it just makes things all that more meaningful. The only other Mexican man in the mcu that I can recall is antmans friend, who is comedic but low key stereotypical. This is long overdue.
I didn't care that namor was going to be Mexican, until I saw who was playing him. Now I'm hyped as shit.

Thanks for the review. As a fellow Latino happy for my fellow Mexican Marvel fans but Namor never was Latino or Mexican. The Aztec direction was a very creative angle to for the film universe. I hope the actor Portayed Namor well.
Well, his ethnicity was never confirmed in the comics, but an old panel makes it clear that he's not white.

Talks of live-action Namor was rumors to cast an Asian actor to cater to the Chinese audience before they try to cater to the Latino audience. Since Marvel movies are longer playing in China. Our number gets called up.
Namor should have a "suntan" skin color. The MCU's Namor looks more like an Aztec warrior, which is quite disappointing tbh... I would rather have the actor who played Xerxes in the 300 movie.

Great figure out the box, fun to pose around would of been an easy 10 if it had butterfly joint. 8.5 out of 10 imo 😊

I hate they didn't even added some scales or some texture to the generic boxer briefs... it feels clumsy since all costume designs in the film look great so far, but those.

Namor can be posed in any way possible he can swim extremely fast(can we make underwater diarama fishtank style as a set up for underwater figures a thing btw) and he can fight well on the land and he is incredible in the air and SPOILERS but the way he takes down those wakandan jets with ease and a noticeable way/pattern is incredible and with his strength and abilities he is a good opponent for almost anyone

honestly surprised about how much im digging this figure now, after watching the review. might have to actually pick it up. been moving away from MCU figs. unless i really enjoy the design. im not too big a fan of the septum piercing or the giant earrings, so i didnt really care for this one initially. but it looks like his head jewelry is alot more toned down for the fig. he looks great and the articulation looks fun. already have ideas of people to pose him with too lol

Namor has aleays been one of my favorites Marvels heroes , I'm happy we will get Namor in live action but at the same time a bit upset cause they changing his origins, it is a bum Dc stole the whole origin of this character and put.it first on cinemas but we know Sub-mariner is the original king of Atlantis .

I'm a long time Marvel fan, so I am disappointed with the casting of Namor. Invaders and Defenders are among my favorite team books. The departure from the comic roots of one of my all time favorite characters is jarring to say the least. The figure looks nice and appears to be a good representation of the actor. Nice review

Good review. Interesting figure. I'm not a MCU Legends fan so don't mind me. I love watching historical documentaries on the Aztecs and Mayans so I think it's a pretty cool concept. I'm not going to see this movie though. It's just too sad to me without Chadwick Boseman.
Ok the toy looks better in your review than in other pictures and videos I’ve seen. Maybe your camera was better quality. They looked cheaply made in the others. Not that I looked at a lot of them. Maybe 4 videos total and only photos from tone of those same sources.

To me, if you want to get a specific ethnic background then create a new character. This guy looks nothing like Namor.. at all.
Hate to say it, because your love and excitement for this one is so huge, but this looks bad to me. Honestly, this looks like a really lazy effort from Hasbro - the lack of any musculature on the legs, the lack of any shading on the skin. Even the arm, belt and ankle bands look like plastic, not metallic - it just looks like a toy, not a collectible.
I get that it's an MCU representation, not a comic version, but I think he looks more impressive in the view glimpses in the trailer. I'm sorry, but it really feels like they just took a lot of shortcuts with this. Just my opinion - don't hate me - I love your channel!

One thing I can't get over is the boxer briefs with no texture whatsoever, speedos or not it was super lazy, shocks me cause Black Panther movies usually have near perfect and detail costume design, but the green Fruit The Loom boxer briefs feels clumsy 🤣😅

That being said... I dunno I think I'll probably love him in the movie but it is not a figure that I want for me - at least not as Namor. Perhaps to use as fodder for a custom but to me Namor is that one from the comics 🤷🏻♂️
I thought the movie was the best marvel film in this latest phase other than Bo Way Home. I ordered Namor and Sheri’s black panther after I got home from the movies. I thought the film was just as good and possibly better than the original black panther

You I have been reading comics since I was 5 or 6 years old, way back in 1972 or 73 !! Yes 1973 and I am a fan of most kinds of comics. Now wait I am getting to my point. Due to my enjoyment of comics , I naturally gravitated to toys. Starting with mego, to Kenner, Mattel to toy biz and now hasbro . And I have thousands of action figures. But this poor excuse of an action figure is an easy pass, as most of the new waves of the M-SHE-U hasbro is offering up. I enjoy and will buy most of the comic based figures. But choose to opt out on the movie and tv waves. Just like I do not watch any of the phase four M-SHE-U crap. You guys buy what you like me at the age of 56 I am too old for crap to go on my shelves.

I'm a latino too so I like it when movies show some love but Namor is one of my all time top 5 marvel characters and I just cant help but feel that they COMPLETELY butchered and ruined his charachter for live action VISUALLY. , Plus I've always pictured an Asian decendent man playing the role , Daniel henney would've been the PERFECT live action Namor , he looks like the charachter and he's a good actor , good at acting like a jerk too lol. Nah just cant get into it . Too much for me man . I'll just wait around for a little Blue Beetle lol. Ik they'll do Latino representation right 👍

Only bad thing about this figure is the ugly ball hinged neck joint. Idk why Hasbro doesn’t make all there figures with double jointed necks, some have it and some don’t. Ball hinged neck joints are outdated.
The lack of muscle definition in the sculpt compared to the comic version makes the comic version look more like a real person. Particularly those goofy smooth legs.
Not for me, I’m out on MCU figures after the abomination that was Eternals and Multiverse of Madness and Thor 4. If I enjoy the characters and the movie, I’ll buy some, but only after I actually see the movie. I don’t want any reminders of the crap they have been putting on screen of late.
