What really impresses me is the fact he kept attempting to do unique moves during his hit combo. If you get into a good flow you can seamlessly have a clean and flowing combo going, but to incorporate combo moves/gadgets (and not using the same ones constantly) is very impressive because it can mess with your brain flow, for me atleast sometimes.

I like the batmobile..I just don't like how it ruined some boss fights. I would prefer a hand to hand battle with the arkham knight or deathstroke over using a tank to fight them or do a tank fight first..And after batman destroys their tank, they duck it out on a rooftop or something

Honestly in my experience, the only time I found the tank annoying was on my second playthrough where I saved all the side missions for last instead of having a balance between side and main missions like in my first playthrough.
The car was only ever a button away, so I rarely used it. The tank stuff was stupid, I'll admit. The narrative implication of having unmanned drones Vs a guy with a no killing people rule aside.

I used to know Mayo a little personally. Met him online back when he first started with Mortal Kombat videos and he was chill then. His video on Marauders from Doom Eternal blew up and I talked to him less, but he had good takes back in the day. Slowly over time, I think he realized he gets more views (and, therefore, more money) posting negative content and I think he just took the opportunity to shit on anything and, God, he hasn't changed in years. It's so sad to see a TH-camr you've watched since their beginings slowly morph into this annoying one. Been unsubed for a long while now and it's sad to see that he hasn't changed :(
a major point that I feel a lot of critics or reviewers seem to forget when creating a review about a game, especially with mayo here, is that If there is a negative aspect about the game, they just seem to completely blow that negative aspect out of proportion, misunderstand or ignore great parts of the game, while also not explaining or at the bare minimum understanding WHY the negative aspect, is a negative aspect. it's absolutely mind-boggling to me, just, you know, explain why you don't like that negative aspect in a manner that makes sense, and not just say "It's soooo awwfuuulll" and want the game to end. Mandalore specifically has a style of game review where he splits the review into seperate segments dedicated to critiquing aspects of a game (visuals, sound design, plot, etc.) This is good because everything he has to say about an aspect of the game stay contained within their segments and all his criticisms doesn't spill out into the rest of the video. His reviews are not really based on his personal tastes but based on what his viewers might like or dislike from the game unlike Mayo who has a tendency to compare games he reviews to games he puts on a pedestal. He doesn't even blow bugs out of proportion and tell his viewers that the game is "literally unplayable", he only tells the viewer of certain bugs to be mindful of and is even kind enough to let people know of a possible patch or temporary fix if he finds one. And then he neatly wraps up the review with his overall thoughts at the very end of the video.

But saying “there’s too many markers” I was in 8th grade when knight launched. I was in 5th when city came out. If you have trouble playing those games you shouldn’t actually play games.

While i do agree that the Batmobile is a bit over use, people has been asking for a playable Batmobile and having it only as a traversal mean would serve zero purpose aside from style point because gliding is just better 99% of the time so they probably think that implementing it into puzzles and combat would give the players more chances to use it

Difference is everything in Doom Eternal is color coded. For example, the color light green will ALWAYS be armor. You will never mistake or see the color light green for anything else in the entire game

Maybe not to the extent that Doom goes for, but it's definitely not "random shit everywhere". An example being if you see any bright green, it's a super obvious indication that there's a trophy around. Road mines have a distinct red light. Towers and air drones are super easy to spot even from miles away even tho the game is filled to the brim with neon lights.

It isn’t remotely terrible the gameplay is incredibly fluid and the side missions really allows you to do something that impacts the environment as a whole permanently which is just incredible however it’s unfortunately tedious which for me I personally don’t care. The story is probably the weakest of the entire Arkham franchise in my opinion but I can’t help to notice that the story has a lot of good moments like the batman fear toxin scenarios at the near end of the game etc. lastly, Arkham knight is hands down the most beautiful game in its generation in my opinion which also says something since the game is made in UNREAL ENGINE 3 which is an engine commonly used for 360-ps3 generation of games.
Exactly. Arkham Knight is very flawed (some of the side missions, boss fights, the Batmobile was a good idea but they did use it a bit _too_ much even if it was only 20% of the game, even the story) but criticising the combat? Arkham Knight probably has the best gameplay mechanics in the series!

That part about forgetting about the gadgets is laughable. I actually use the REC in combat far more often in Arkham Knight than I did in Arkham City. It's very helpful to keep brutes away and will knock over enemies with stun sticks. In Arkham City, it's pretty much useless except against armored thugs. Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but the REC's usefulness in combat has definitely improved.
I only used it in city against Mr. Freeze in his boss fight and against Mr. Hammer and Sickle since their attacks would hurt the enemy thugs around them. Other than that it is only useful for trolling in Predator encounters by causing thugs to wildly shoot.

Under the Mayo is heavily biased against any game that doesn’t play like Doom eternal, streets of rage or ninja gaiden. You can clearly see he only likes games with constant action. This is why he hates souls games, because they require patience, muscle memory and timing. He also hates style meters because they remind him that he has no skill.
Style meter that has no bearing on any gameplay benefits does not indicate skill btw. The reason why DMC3 and 1 is so beloved is because all your moves benefit from being able to style and the game eases you into that.

Listen, I get that all you comic fans who are dedicated to the universe of Batman already knew who it was, but as someone who wasn't really into any superhero besides maybe Spiderman due to the Sam Raimi films, I had literally ZERO idea who it was. I had never heard of Red Hood at all. People forget that these games were also meant to introduce the Batman mythos to a new group of fans who maybe were still new to these kinds of things, which I was. So, the reveal while still expected due to the "flashback" sequences was expected, the over-abundance of "it should have been someone else because I called it immediately" is overdone. Congrats, you are a superb detective, now leave some fun for the rest of us.
My biggest problems with Arkham Knight are the story, underwhelming side mission and the tank battles. Driving around with the batmobile is great though. Other than those, the game is still great. It doesn't reach the heights set by Asylum, City and even Origins but it's still a solid game. It's the best Batman has played in combat, stealth and traversal and the DLC was added so much content.

Before the played the game I've been told countless times about how annoying the batmobile is. But I ended being one of the few people who got sad the Batmobile blows up around the 3rd act. Until the Mk2 randomly just shows up out of thin air ofcourse.
I like the riddler driving sections and the chasing sections I even look forward to them and the combat with it is alright it isn't something I hate or love it is just fine.

What really impresses me is the fact he kept attempting to do unique moves during his hit combo. If you get into a good flow you can seamlessly have a clean and flowing combo going, but to incorporate combo moves/gadgets (and not using the same ones constantly) is very impressive because it can mess with your brain flow, for me atleast sometimes.

Well, I found it a little bit weird that Batman would summon this loud ass supply drop like 10 meters away from the guys he wanted to take out. But I just wrote it off as shit that happens in a video game and I gladly played the tutorials and even more gladly received the sweet upgrade point they gave me.

Honestly in my experience, the only time I found the tank annoying was on my second playthrough where I saved all the side missions for last instead of having a balance between side and main missions like in my first playthrough.
The car was only ever a button away, so I rarely used it.

I used to know Mayo a little personally. Met him online back when he first started with Mortal Kombat videos and he was chill then. His video on Marauders from Doom Eternal blew up and I talked to him less, but he had good takes back in the day. Slowly over time, I think he realized he gets more views (and, therefore, more money) posting negative content and I think he just took the opportunity to shit on anything and, God, he hasn't changed in years. It's so sad to see a TH-camr you've watched since their beginings slowly morph into this annoying one. Been unsubed for a long while now and it's sad to see that he hasn't changed :(

a major point that I feel a lot of critics or reviewers seem to forget when creating a review about a game, especially with mayo here, is that If there is a negative aspect about the game, they just seem to completely blow that negative aspect out of proportion, misunderstand or ignore great parts of the game, while also not explaining or at the bare minimum understanding WHY the negative aspect, is a negative aspect. it's absolutely mind-boggling to me, just, you know, explain why you don't like that negative aspect in a manner that makes sense, and not just say "It's soooo awwfuuulll" and want the game to end.
I guess that's what I get for trying to make sense of a bad take...

Mandalore specifically has a style of game review where he splits the review into seperate segments dedicated to critiquing aspects of a game (visuals, sound design, plot, etc.) This is good because everything he has to say about an aspect of the game stay contained within their segments and all his criticisms doesn't spill out into the rest of the video. His reviews are not really based on his personal tastes but based on what his viewers might like or dislike from the game unlike Mayo who has a tendency to compare games he reviews to games he puts on a pedestal. He doesn't even blow bugs out of proportion and tell his viewers that the game is "literally unplayable", he only tells the viewer of certain bugs to be mindful of and is even kind enough to let people know of a possible patch or temporary fix if he finds one. And then he neatly wraps up the review with his overall thoughts at the very end of the video.

Difference is everything in Doom Eternal is color coded. For example, the color light green will ALWAYS be armor. You will never mistake or see the color light green for anything else in the entire game

It isn’t remotely terrible the gameplay is incredibly fluid and the side missions really allows you to do something that impacts the environment as a whole permanently which is just incredible however it’s unfortunately tedious which for me I personally don’t care. The story is probably the weakest of the entire Arkham franchise in my opinion but I can’t help to notice that the story has a lot of good moments like the batman fear toxin scenarios at the near end of the game etc. lastly, Arkham knight is hands down the most beautiful game in its generation in my opinion which also says something since the game is made in UNREAL ENGINE 3 which is an engine commonly used for 360-ps3 generation of games.
Exactly. Arkham Knight is very flawed (some of the side missions, boss fights, the Batmobile was a good idea but they did use it a bit _too_ much even if it was only 20% of the game, even the story) but criticising the combat? Arkham Knight probably has the best gameplay mechanics in the series!

That part about forgetting about the gadgets is laughable. I actually use the REC in combat far more often in Arkham Knight than I did in Arkham City. It's very helpful to keep brutes away and will knock over enemies with stun sticks. In Arkham City, it's pretty much useless except against armored thugs.
Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but the REC's usefulness in combat has definitely improved.
I only used it in city against Mr. Freeze in his boss fight and against Mr. Hammer and Sickle since their attacks would hurt the enemy thugs around them. Other than that it is only useful for trolling in Predator encounters by causing thugs to wildly shoot.

mind you this guy was told by a dev of DOOM Eternal to fix the Marauder’s Shield. If you shoot the shield he spawns his wolf. Bug: Other demons can hit the shield and he spawns his dog. Mayo said not to fix it as the community is used to it. Which this bug makes the Marauder tedious. He has other shit takes.

It's really disappointing, Mayo's channel was great back when his focus was Doom Eternal. It's ashame that's the ONLY thing his channel actually had that was good quality.
Under the Mayo is heavily biased against any game that doesn’t play like Doom eternal, streets of rage or ninja gaiden. You can clearly see he only likes games with constant action. This is why he hates souls games, because they require patience, muscle memory and timing. He also hates style meters because they remind him that he has no skill.
Style meter that has no bearing on any gameplay benefits does not indicate skill btw. The reason why DMC3 and 1 is so beloved is because all your moves benefit from being able to style and the game eases you into that.

On a serious note, there's another thing about Arkham Knight criticism that I feel is overblown. The identity of the Arkham Knight being Jason Todd. Listen, I get that all you comic fans who are dedicated to the universe of Batman already knew who it was, but as someone who wasn't really into any superhero besides maybe Spiderman due to the Sam Raimi films, I had literally ZERO idea who it was. I had never heard of Red Hood at all. People forget that these games were also meant to introduce the Batman mythos to a new group of fans who maybe were still new to these kinds of things, which I was. So, the reveal while still expected due to the "flashback" sequences was expected, the over-abundance of "it should have been someone else because I called it immediately" is overdone. Congrats, you are a superb detective, now leave some fun for the rest of us.

My biggest problems with Arkham Knight are the story, underwhelming side mission and the tank battles. Driving around with the batmobile is great though. Other than those, the game is still great. It doesn't reach the heights set by Asylum, City and even Origins but it's still a solid game. It's the best Batman has played in combat, stealth and traversal and the DLC was added so much content.
Under the Mayo is the shining example of someone who thinks they are smart, yet says the most out of pocket, objectively wrong stuff. He’s like one of those know-it-alls we all knew in middle school, expect he’s a grown man who never really grew up.

@@channel45853nah, the general consensus regarding Arkham knight is that the story isn’t as good as city but the gameplay is leaps and bounds better, almost every person I’ve spoken to who has played knight says the same thing.
Batman arkham knight is my favorite game it's probably my idea of a perfect game tbh. I can see how the batmobile can be annoying but it's not overused at all imo and it makes a lot of sense for Batman to use it a lot since he's literally going against an army
Before the played the game I've been told countless times about how annoying the batmobile is.
But I ended being one of the few people who got sad the Batmobile blows up around the 3rd act.
Until the Mk2 randomly just shows up out of thin air ofcourse.
