This is great, Ive benn looking to build my own for ages but wasnt happy with spending £40 on a urine diverter. great thinking and ive ordered 5 now to make 5 compost toilets. Thank you very much
What about using flooring vinyl for the sides? It would be a little bit more durable than the wall vinyl. I like the lighter design of this composting commode. (suggested name: com-com)?
I was thinking of using laminate for countertops or a piece of vinyl flooring, both would be far better for durability. I went with the least expensive and the color match's everything in my camper.
I used the specimen catcher thingy from Amazon, It was $2.99 last year. The separator from "Throne" is $95 plus shipping! Sorry but I'm gonna pass on that for now, just a little to much cheese for me. I did find one on ebay for a little less but the shipping from the UK is the killer. I have not used it yet but it is essentially the same as version one just not as stable. I will be screwing it to the RV toilet flange.
For now the liquids go into a 1 gallon catch (iced tea bottle) I have room for a larger receptacle (which I would strongly suggest) but eventually It will be plumbed into my holding tank on my RV. I tried to use rare earth magnets to hold the diverter in place but they were to strong and kept pulling away, meaning the glue was not strong enough so I decided on a simple dowel attached to the diverter and small hole in the front of upper frame, not the greatest but with the seat down it keeps everything aligned.
You could get one of those, probably for free. Next time you go to the clinic ask the nurse for a "hat". That's what it's called. You will also need to cut the hole in it yourself.
Men will have a problem with such urine diverters, wouldn't they? The rim is leveled with the seat and boys have to sort of drop their members into the receptacle.

Have you tried this out a couple times yet? I was thinking of using a similar diverter. Which did you get?

Did you add plumbing to that diverter? And how did you attach it?

Where did you get the plans you mentioned in the video?
I can't find that urine diverter at all. Any chance you have a link? Nice job, btw!

Graduated specimen collector, if this like does not work use that in the search box. $13 for 5 or $7 each. Damn inflation!
@@adventurezinrecovery You are awesome! Thank you so much!

Where did you find the urine diverter?
Amazon, I believe it's called a specimen catch. I guess it's called a top hat in the nursing community

Why don't you share where you bought that cheap urine separator? There's nowhere to find one under $40!
