I keep a composting toilet in my work truck just use two trash liners and mylar bag in the bucket I use for the ease to just toss the bag into a trash can. When I built my composting toilet I just made out of wood and I didn't bother putting a separate container for urine. Especially when I use a mylar bag with two regular trash bags, and it's conspicuous ain't anyone gonna pay attention anyway.
It is truly amazing on how we can get excited about purchasing holes in the appropriate places. I am with you on this but are we over thinking pooping and peeing?
I just ordered my diverter. I printed the plans from their web side and have my wood all cut out. I think I may make it a tad shorter than the Throne plans and use the 5 gallon bucket. It is just a little tall for the wife with the seat on. What is the height of yours? I'm from Michigan too. We have a 20' converted Cargo Trailer we travel with our Motorcycle. Thanks for the review, but I'm already on board. 😊 Not sure how far up-north you are building, but we love the UP, except winter. Cheers from Lapeer.
Hey Mr. Lapeer, A friend lives in Lapeer. I purchased 11 acres last Nov. in Oscoda, just bare land with a nice trail and shallow well pump. My 29' trailer is working perfectly except in the winter, I have seen a few people who converted cargo trailers, pretty novel Idea... My girlfriend was very resistant about the whole idea but she recently used it and was very happy with it, I guess she was just a little confused but I just kept reminding her of the vault toilets we used up in the UP last summer, very stinky and not a good experience.
@@adventurezinrecovery Tawas, Oscoda are our often visited locations. We just recently stayed a week near the Lumberman's monument, at the cook dam. I solo motorcycle camp around there a cpl times a year. My motorcycle and my hammock. My wife has no interest in it. It looks like a nice piece of property you have there! Enjoy
I got some inexpensive vinyl fabric on ebay for $11 and simply glued that on and it has been working really well so far, light weight and easy to clean

Thank you!! All this info is new to me and you've helped me a lot.
That’s really nice. I’ll try mine for awhile. I built 24’ Shantyboat. Will be interesting.
Thanks for sharing. Jim
a little sink strainer will keep sawdust out of wet diverter.

This may seem like a silly question but do you plan on lining the bucket with a trash bag?
I do use trash bags, I do not plan on using the compost for humanure which is used for ornamental plantings only.
