    Well done! I must keep a Homer Bucket, with the ringed seat, in the back of my pickup truck! The windows on the P/U shell are heavily tinted. On any travels, be they local to interstate travels that bucket and bag of, yes, fine cut sawdust goes with. Not scared in the least to pull off in whatever convenient parking area and take care of business. Note: In March of 2019, I was misdiagnosed 2x in 3 days by a military ER Doctor who, after cursory examination, told me I was simply constipated. After second visit I passed my entire dead large intestine in my house. 10 days in ICU. Now, I don’t give a damn where I am at when the urge hits, I have very little response time! One of the large intestine functions is extract liquids, I cannot do that anymore!
    My story may be gross, yes, but I do think you hit a great idea for your throne!

    Thanks Christopher, this is a educational, and needed video. Thanks for caring to do this one!

    It may be that the 'stack effect' alone, i.e. warm air rising, will create negative pressure, although larger diameter might be needed.

    Nice setup. It would be easy to add a standup area for the guys just add another trap and plumb it into the other line. I really enjoyed this build and will he doing something similar but i will capture the urine as ferilizer. Just have the urine go to a 50 gallon resevoir. If that resevor is at a higher elevation than your crops. You could add some water to the urine at a 3-8 To 1 ratio and then drip irrigiate it out.

      I think the standup area for the guys is known as "outside".

    great set up, thanks for sharing. Just a note, that fan sounds a bit loud for the setup. Not sure what you are using but 100mm cpu fan are super quiet, cheap to buy and run and should suffice. Either that or you have some cobwebs or bugs caught in your fan! My experience tells me they need cleaning out after a while.

    I’m gonna guess that the oblong seat is better than the round to fit everything?

    This looks to be a good design for reducing bucket-emptying trips!
    Good idea, that P-trap & sprayer….can that be used as a bidet, as well (because ladies need bidet sprayers that work front-to-back)?
    What is making that buzzing sound? A computer fan shouldn’t make that kind, nor decibels of noise!?
    What did you use to make the urine diverter?
    Could you please post a parts list, in the video description?
    Total cost?

      Had to watch the video again to determine what is making the buzzing sound. Most likely it's the bathroom exhaust ceiling fan. Also, we do use the sprayer as a makeshift bidet. You just have scoot forward a bit to capture all the water to the correct area for drainage. Everything is off the shelf items except the urine diverter, which I ordered from an ebay seller.

    I’ve seen some designs where the base is trapezoidal, do you find the square design hits your legs? Great name Christopher 😉

      At first it was a little strange feeling compared to a conventional toilet, but we're just used to it now. Thanks for asking....

    I think computer fans use the 5V connections in a PC if that helps.

    • @amicusfirepits

      Some fans do, others are available as 12v. I've even had the 120v models. In this case, the fan is 12v powered by an adapter from my household 120v system.

    What about the curves of bucket ? Maybe some # 2 hits outside of bucket.

    • @amicusfirepits
      @amicusfirepits  ปีที่แล้ว

      Everything has always ended up inside the bucket I've been using this method for 5+ years. Occasionally, some hit the side of the bucket on the inside. This has never presented a problem as the saw dust absorbs the moisture and there is seldom anything sticking to the inside wall when I transfer the contents to the incinerator.

    I didn't really see how the dryer vent is installed at the bottom. Can u please explain that.

    • @amicusfirepits
      @amicusfirepits  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because most of what I need isn't available as an off the shelf product, I spend a lot of time roaming around home stores looking for anything that might work. In this case I used a PVC storm drain cover, cut out the center portion where the holes are, leaving enough plastic for at least 3 screws to anchor it over the opening in the toilet. Same thing through the ceiling and exterior wall. The dryer vent fits snug but I still used large hose clamps to secure it in place. Hope this helps.

    Hi. I wonder, would you, please, share your source for the urine diverter piece that attaches to the seat of your toilet?

    • @amicusfirepits
      @amicusfirepits  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you check out my other video showing the gold glitter urine diverter. I found it on eBay. I cut away the rear portion leaving the front lip for the solids to overlap the 5 gallon buckets rim so any urine that may not make it down the correct drain will at least get captured in the bucket. Men usually don't have a problem with flow/direction control while seated to pee. The ladies however, well it's a little more difficult to control where it goes, though nudging forward a bit is usually all it takes. The "Golden Toilet" is made from fiberglass so it's easier shaped with a flap disc on an angle grinder.

    MANY USE PINE PELLETS

    • @amicusfirepits
      @amicusfirepits  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do use a layer of pellet fuel in the bottom as a absorbent for any urine that gets in the bucket. It's supposed to go down the urine diverter though.

      LOL. As a person that cleans our toilet every day at home and at the office. Why wouldn't I keep it fresh daily? It takes 3 minutes a day and it always stays nice. I say people need to get a reality check on plumbing waste. If we are smart, we will all have a portable bucket system for power outages and traveling. I do not understand people thinking that waste is something not to be bothered with. It's a big deal and this is genius! I love creative inventive people! Your comment made me 😆🤣 LOL.
