  • He has been dubbed a 'Prime Minister Slayer'. Former Malaysian Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir Mohamad is said to have brought down Malaysia’s first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman. He also played a pivotal role in deposing two Prime Ministers in a row-Malaysia’s 5th Prime Minister, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his successor, Najib Razak. And now, Dr Mahathir is hell bent on bringing down the Perikatan Nasional government of Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. Why is Dr Mahathir so obsessed with the desire to bring down the country's Prime Ministers? Will he be able to regain the trust of Malaysian voters and become Prime Minister for the third time? And at 95, does he really have what it takes to wage another bruising political battle and come out on top?

8:25 no one had toppled the Pakatun Haprakjadah, that old man resigned as PM and expecting the people to support him re-appointed again as the new 8th PM by the King. That old man is utter rubbish!

No. This all squabble is well designed by Tun M. Tun knows if he just resign normally after 2 years he and his family influence of politics will also put an end as well. It’s Muhyiddin who is too naive to withdraw Bersatu out of Pakatan Harapan and form a government with mainly UMNO and PAS. Surely, UMNO and PAS are willing to work with Bersatu at the start since suddenly they can be in power again without any elections but soon the Perikatan Nasional gov will eventually face problems which Tun M already knew it will happen beforehand. He already created a space or a well designed trap for a white mouse to withdraw their support from Pakatan Harapan since he knew ppl will try to be PM as he told everyone before that he will resign after 2 years. Therefore, he can now re shuffle the current political layout by being a backbancher for the time being. Tun M already knew that it’s impossible for Muhyiddin’s gov to stay long since UMNO will not allow Bersatu to take over their position of “Sacred Malay party” and eventually his government will shortly collapse after MPs start to withdraw their support. During this time, Tun M can pull UMNO MPs support who aren’t benefited from Najib and Muhyiddin. Then Tun M has more cards on his hands to play with Pakatan Harapan led by Anwar so the Pakatan Harapan will have no choice but to support Tun M again. Tun M will then in a very strong position again where most MPs beg him to be a Prime Minster again for a 3rd. Muhyiddin then collapse and Tun will be back again but with a way stronger support in the parliament and his family can able to influence politics as well after Tun M step down and pass away.

Since Malaysia have gone into privatisation in many sector why not make it all. Make all ministry as a corporate entity run by a CEO of calibre n oversee by a capable Chairman who is the Prime Minister or President of the Country. Each entity will have it's group of board members to oversee the running of the States. The Federal n States will have it's own responsibility to run the Country. Whatever achieved by the states financially should be channel back to the raayat. Then we will have a high performing government running the Country 😮😢😅

Tun tu yg punca langkah Shereton, die nk salahkan org, punca dia la PKR bergolak, kalo die xletak jawatan, die sendiri yg letak jawatan pengerusi bersatu dan PH juga. xke bodo Mahathir, pastu lps tu Muhiyddin la ganti, lps tu kata die xletak jawatan dipecat oleh Muhyiddin, mana bleh pengerusi no 1 kena pecat, gilo. die ni Mahathir sendiri xmau Anwar jd PM, die dah capai goal die guna kan PKR, kalo tanpa tun pun mmg PH diketuai oleh PKR dan sebut pasal 1mbd, Tun je datang tumpang. tgk la masa pru15, xda bantuan PKR dan bkan melayu DAP[yg dlu asalnya undi MCA atau india undi MIC] dah xlg undi tun yg partinya pejuang bkn dlm PH, dan juga lawan PH, dan bersama BN dan PH juga lawan 4-5 penjuru[Warisan ada juga lawan tp xsmua tempat smnjung], tp xpa la Warisan terutama Muda ni sekutu PH. atau boleh diharapkan. Tun M xbersyukur, dah la buat parti baru, menang kerusi pun skit, itu pun ambil tempat PKR dan Amanah, org2 pkr-amanah dan dap undi bersatu, lps tu dah la parti baru, parti dari bersatu Tun m jd pengerusi PH. dan jd Perdana menteri. paling penting Tun M, berjanji nak serahkan jawatan, xkira la 2 tahun atau 5 tahun/1penggal. dia yg punca segalanya. kalo die xletak mana mungkin Muhyiddin jd PM. dan mana mungkin Bersatu keluar dari PH. PRU15, bersatu dibantu PAS, dan org PAS undi bersatu, kalo x bersatu tanpa PKR-PH dan PAS, BERSATU sama mcm Pejuang xkan menang 1 kerusi telor ayam/zero atau paling2 bawah 5 kerusi menang. Bersatu byk org yg kaki lompat, kaki khianat, parti xsedo diri, parti yg tikam rakan dan byk yg xsetia, masa UMNO kalah org yg setia pada parti masing2 seperti KJ, Tok Mat, Ismail, Hishamuddin lebih dihormati sbb kekal dlm perjuangan parti. Azmin lg la x guna penant2 20 tahun sokong anwar last2 jilat sokong muhyiddin, Muhyiddin xpenah mengalami susah dan derita mcm Anwa,r, nk jd perintah/kerajaan je. Muhyiddin xbleh pakai. PAS kalo masih dibawah org seperti Almarhum Ustaz Fadzil Noor dan Tok Guru Nik Aziz tentu PAS xkan berpecah jd Amanah, dan PAS akan tetapi bersam PH, demi mengalahkan total UMNO-Bn, kalo x, UMNO mmg jd pembangkang 2 penggal dah.

When PH won, it's just like a miracle because we always thought it's going to be impossible and BN will still win the election. That's how we felt, we don't care about anything else other than bringing Najib down.

    • @sonicscourge

Yusuf Dude, Najib inherited a system created by Tun M. Najib did not create an authoritarian rule, the systems were already there for him to exploit. It is just that Tun Badawi before him did not use this system to do what Najib did. In fact, Tun M himself ruled like an authoritarian but the stark contrast is Tun M wife is Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah, which is much loved by the people. Frankly speaking I do not like Tun M anymore than Najib, but to call him an angel from heaven is Dr. Seuss level far-fetched at best.

Now, It doesnt take a genius to see that dealing with 31 million inhabitant, made up of three races each with its own complexities, and dealing with a country 459 times bigger than Singapore, is a whole different ball game. Mahathir should not step down because he was still the legal PM as long as there was no official declaration of he had lost support. When he made an official resignations, he had open opportunity to Muhyidin to collect support to become the new PM. Mahathir caused the collapsed of PH government without notice to the rest of PH leaders. He had made decision to resign without even discussed with the rest of PH leaders. What was bad all this happen strongly because of Mahathir refusal to pass tha baton to Anwar as promised. To conclude PH government fall simply because of Mahathir’s refusal to allow Anwar to take over.

With Tun as pm, malaysia has greater aspirations. Look at his track record to not just modermize Malaysia but to not let up on strengthening the Malay mindset, capabilities and competitiveness. Other PMs or even Anwar focus on appearing 'kindly' with handouts to appease and win support. He usually doesn't agree with these short term solutions to the ire of many lesser calibre politicians. I respect Tun and believe his heart is in the right place. Malaysia needs his brand of tough love to make real progress. All those who feel that his time has passed, there is no time limit to fight for what you believe in.

@Kitty so you want to talk about his 22 years tenure from the 80s until 2003? Alright. My comment above never touch anything about his achievements during that period. To begin with, there are pros and cons of his rule during that time. On the pros side, he accelerated rapid industrialization that made us became one of the respected manufacturing hub in the region. He developed the greater Klang valley into economic powerhouse in this country. His government at the time was full with people of respected corporate background and expertise that easily execute his plan with ease. Whenever he screwed up his plan, those people always know how to fix them. Mahathir's government of that day was filled with excellent think tank, he was really on his A-game, no kidding. There are many more good policies which he introduced but I couldn't remember. So that's it. I gave credit where its due. Now let's go to the cons. Corruption began to skyrocket during his era. His way of ruling inadvertently cultivated cronyism, nepotism, asslickings, money politics and racial tension that became cancer to our nation till this day. If someone stole the country's finance at that time, there will be no way to find them back. Remember Perwaja Steel? Forex scandal? PKFZ? NGPV projects? The list goes on and on. So then he retired in 2003. Personally for me, a politician that went into silence after retiring is the one who try to find redemption no matter how bad his rule was. It is a sign that he want to let go of the past, his legacy, his regrets, his connections to political world and try to open a new book for the remainder of his life. I'm really respect that. Just like Pak Lah. But Mahathir right now is doing the opposite. He still want to rule! How insane is it fo a man in his nearly 100 years old still thirst for power! As of TODAY, his party, the Pejuang party is finally allowed to be registered by the ROS, in which allows him to contest as a candidate for the next general election. That's insanity. So there it is, that is my problem as a citizen of Malaysia, and your problem too, regardless of your political affiliation.
