  • A long-simmering power struggle boiled over on February 24th, 2020, when Dr Mahathir Mohamad unexpectedly announced his resignation as Malaysia's Prime Minister. His decision prompted members of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, or better known as Bersatu to pull out of the ruling Pakatan Harapan coalition en masse, along with nearly a dozen members of Parti Keadilan Rakyat or PKR. The mass exodus led to the collapse of the 2-year-old government under the weight of internal rivalries and plunged the country into a deep political turmoil.

      @@kamilazman2943 Don't mistake tolerance for "stability". There is no such thing as equality in this world especially here but there is only so much people can take before the cracks becomes a fissure. I hope your race don't push the non's too far. Even until now you've got idiot politicians going around with phrases like "Apa Cina mahu lagi". Do you really think that kind of phrase would really be tolerated in other nations who you claim have unstable race relations then this country? Come on man.

      @Snipe42 Malays are simple creature when it comes to race relations. Stay off the 3Rs (Right, Religion & Royal) and we’re good. You said it right there’s no such thing as equality and yet there are many of the nons challenging the constitution. When the push happened of course the Malays going to react, it’s basic cause & effect. Just so you know, there are countless politicians and leaders in multiracial developed nations making racist statement publicly towards the minorities. From Australia, to the UK, the USA, Canada even Singapore, all have their fair shares of political idiots making racist remarks even worst than “Apa lagi Cina mahu”. For the record, there were no Malays politicians made the “Apa lagi Cina mahu” remark. It was a news headline by Utusan created by the editor.

    • @wannasrul1436
      @wannasrul1436 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@muzzmuzz1482 it's interesting that you stated the 3R's, as a Chinese-Malay person myself i've been observing the race relations issues first hand for quite some time and has seen a lot of problems both in parliament and the public's view to the race relations in Malaysia. I don't think any of the other races has any problems with the Religion and Royal part but the Rights part is very problematic. In a united multiracial country, no rights should be afforded only for a specific race. You can observed this in larger countries such as US, UK and Canada, I challenge you to name me one right that has been afforded to whites that are not afforded to blacks or hispanics which are some of the majority races in those countries. Sure as far as I know, no one in the government has outright ridiculed a race but you can blatantly see in the government that most of the MP's are putting Malay over other races since forever. The politicians must realise that the country is not for Malays, it's for Malaysians and that includes the other races as well. As stated in the video, Muhyiddin even said quote " I'm a Malay first but that doesn't mean that i'm not Malaysian" now do you really not see the problem in that. A politician let alone the prime minister should not blatantly favour a race over the others and he's right, he is a Malaysian which means the inclusion of all races. The thing that i've been hearing again and again is the argument that "the special rights for Malays are in the constitution" even you yourself made the argument that they're trying to attack the constitution and that's true but you need to understand why it's happening, we need to give the same rights to everyone regardless of race. Anyone with any sense would support equality of opportunity even if you're the most selfish person in the world because you would benefit from other people's success for example, say you open a business in an area where Malays are the minority, you would want everyone to conpete with eachother so that you'll find the best of the best regardless of race so that you can hire them and exploit their talents. Key word is compete, now how are you expected to compete when you're not on a level playing field. The biggest countries in the world have made certain amendments to their constitution as it's no longer relevant, we're not in 1961 anymore it's 2020. Lots of things has changed and the constitution must the tweaked to fit the climate that we are in today.

    • @muzzmuzz1482
      @muzzmuzz1482 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Wan Nasrul Just because some countries guarantee ‘equal rights’ to the people, doesn’t mean that it’s been applied. This is to answer your challenge, a simple search of ‘white privileges’ over the internet will give you hundred cases of unfair treatment towards minorities in white majority countries. You can argue ‘it’s mostly remote cases’ or ‘it is not as bad as how it is in Malaysia’ but it doesn’t change the fact that it exists even in those countries.
      The race issue will always dominate Malaysia political landscape doesn’t matter how much you’re sick and tired of hearing it. In the case of Muhyiddin remark, he simply highlighting Article 153 of the Constitution regarding Malay special privilege and protecting the rights of the Non, which resonates well with the statement “I’m a Malay first but that doesn’t mean I’m not Malaysian”. I don’t see any problem with that, if you think it’s a problem, then I guess it’s your problem.
      To say everyone needs to be treated equally is akin to say women who gave birth should be paid less than men because they take maternity leave. Some people have certain advantages in attributes of capability cultural, wealth, accessibility, economic, gender and so on compare to the others. How’d you want to ‘compete on level playing field’ when the inequality of these attributes are not being addressed?
      Just because ‘biggest countries’ amended their constitutions doesn’t mean we should too. Different countries have different values. Malaysia won’t simply amend its constitution on Malay privilege just as how USA won’t simply amend the right to bear arms in its constitution regardless whether it’s being relevant in today’s context or not.
      I challenge you to name one country that doesn’t have structural racism applied by its majority race towards the minority.

      It’s crucial Anwar becomes pm to implement reform n for Msia to progress forward like Singapore or Korea. We need smart leaders with vision n courage to introduce reforms. Msia has the resources but leaders are corrupted if they r not smart, smart like Tun but allow race politic to cause turmoil in politic in the country thus affecting economic development as FDI as a force to provide employment, increase personal income & revenue will not be a factor to b counted on. We need reforms n only Anwar can do that.

Usually people who have nothing to bring to the table takes the most away from It, are you one of those? Malaysia is in need of a good shakeup, it'l been resting on it's rotting laurels for too long. The corrupted political practices must be stopped, this health epidemic has proven the incompetence of many public officials, all they do is politik. Many people's incomes are affected. Agree. It was planned by Mahathir because he didn't want Anwar to be the next PM. Mahathir joined forces with the other Pakatan Harapan component parties with the sole aim of toppling Najib but not to implement reforms. If Mahathir had intended to transfer power to Anwar as agreed before the PRU 14. he would have appointed Anwar as his deputy right after Anwar won the forced Port Dickson by-election. (Anwar's wife Dr. Wan Azizah was holding the Deputy PM post waiting for Anwar to take over).

    Politics in Malaysia must follow the standard practice of other countries.
    Reasons:-
    No countries in the world are having a 94 year old man as a Prime Minister.
    No countries in the world are having an ex convict as a Prime Minister.
    No countries in the world are governed by minority race who decide all the government decisions.
    No countries in the world are so divided in terms of racial unity like Malaysia. This is true and can be seen in languages, education system, religious beliefs, politics, entertainment and almost in every aspects of life of Malaysians.
    Almost all of the above scenarios have ended recently with the rise of PN.

      "No countries in the world are having an ex convict as a Prime Minister."
      Questions:
      How long did Mandela spend in prison?
      How many people died a as direct consequence of his actions?
      How many people did his wife (Winnie) murder, before, during and after Nelson was in prison?
      Go find out, then get back to me.

      @@utubecomment21 utubecomment21 My statement or comment is too general for you to relate it to one particular country only or a few countries only and forget about the rest of the world.
      Are you a Malaysian? Well I am a Malaysian. I know what's happening in my country that's why I stopped short of commenting about other countries and focus on my country.
      Furthermore, you are also giving me examples of countries who are also not adhering to the standard practice that I am talking about. Why don't you include Japan, South Korea, Finland etc as examples. Take the current Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin just to name a few.
      When everybody in the world are glorifying the black community success in their freedom struggle against apartheid regime in South Africa you are bad mouthing them with wild accusations.
      Just to single out one or two individuals in South Africa and implicated them with crimes against their own people is also not a normal practice in a world where international community respect and appreciate their contribution to South Africa's nation building. Even Chinese people are admiring him. Watch this video.
