Very nice windscreen. Folks that have never used one will be pleasantly surprised at the difference it makes with a small stove of any kind, even a twig burner or pocket stove
I've got the little 1qt bush pot and the new stove with the foldable pot stands that let the stove fit right into the pot. I like the convenience and the versatility of the size of each. I already had a windscreen like that one but I still don't have a little bag to hold it all in. I'll have to cannibalize one of my others for that. Still looking for a protector for the gas canister that actually has a zippered bottom so it can go into other units and not screw up the other things I already use.
Hi Dave, I've got your Pathfinder 1L/34oz bottle and cup set and use it a lot hiking. With many freeze-dried meals needing 250ml/1 cup of water, it would be great if the internal gradations on the cup went to 250ml instead of stopping at 500ml. Hope that's useful feedback.
Is that a masonic square and compass tattoo I spy on your right middle finger Dave?!! That's why you are so successful and come up with this legendary kit ITS ALL ILLUMINATI MAGICK FOLKS!!!!Mr. Canterbury you have some explaining to do😅
Why does the fuel canister have what looks to me like a beer koozie around it? Just general protection should you drop it? Was always more of a traditional camper hiking culture is new to me.
You can get a 1/4 lb micro propane tank and adapter so you can refill your fuel i stead of using the non refillable iso propane tanks. Its also smaller
Dave - Nice cook kit set-up... wish that was standard service issue back-in-the-day. Great sale price too. Thanks for the video & heads-up on the sale date. Happy Trails! 🇺🇸 🏕 🌲
What is the date the canteen with bat wing canteen cup coming out I know you said this month going to buy the whole cook set with the farro rod and inferno fire starter etc..
I personally prefer a alcohol stove for heating water and a twig stove for cooking. I don't like carrying a gas can and having no idea how much fuel it has. I watched a kid have to get rescued because he didn't know how to make a fire after he ran out of fuel. He said he could make food because he couldn't boil snow. It was ridiculous. Many hikers think they are survivalist because they have camped in the woods. So of the ultra light hikers are unbelievably unaware.
I think you should really push your provision line. I’ve tried them all. Peak mountain house fire pot etc. for the amount of water needed and price point they are by far the best. There is no way I want to have to use 2.5 cups of my water volume when I can 8 or so oz with your meals.
I don't know if I will ever be in a position to again return to any type of backpacking, overnight camping in a tent, or bushcrafting. I'm going to turn 70 in May, and my current morbid obesity *(+120 lbs.),* which I have embarked on a Carnivore style of eating to attempt to reverse, currently prohibits me from enjoying those things that I once loved to participate in. All of that being said, I fully understand the siren song of the compact, disposable, butane, isobutane, and propane canisters for use as a fuel source to heat water and cook with. The compressed gas fuel stoves represent the next logical evolution from the white gas/naptha fueled Svea 123 compact, liquid gas stove that I used for 99% of my last year in the Boy Scouts, the 2 years backpacking prior to my military service, all three of my years as a 91B medic, 3/4's of which was spent outdoors, and the next 10 years spent climbing, hiking, skiing, and camping in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. It's the disposable nature of the gas canisters that bothers me more than anything else. As I age, I have become increasingly aware of my impact on the planet as society has morphed from a recyclable, reusable one into a primarily disposable one composed of thousands of plastics that are in no way, shape, or form, capable of being recycled as metals and glasses are, or composted through decomposition as carbon based, once living plants and animals are.
I love that you share with your dog. They are a blessing from God.
Beautiful dog! Nice cook kit. Great value. Thanks for the video and for sharing.
I'm glad the dog had his own bowl even if you feed him your food instead of his own!
Awesome setup, I could go broke purchasing everything Pathfinder School sells😂. Great video Dave 👍
Another home run! Thanks Dave for thinking of us hikers - but then aren't we all! Blessings!
Wish you taught on the homestead here!

That’s an attractive price point!
Why does the fuel canister have what looks to me like a beer koozie around it? Just general protection should you drop it? Was always more of a traditional camper hiking culture is new to me.

How well does the cup and bottle kit nest inside the 1qt bushpot?
Thanks sharing👍🙏. But for me that's a bit too much gear just for a hike.
Dave -

Dave, can waxed dental floss be used as a trap in wire?

Can't believe I've never noticed that square and compass on your finger. Is that new ink?

That’s a great deal
What meal did you two eat, AKA what's the menu item of that meal/food
you made?

Is it a 750ml pot Dave?
