Btw, TBYS also poses as someone competent, who can give nutrition and fitness advice in this video - and yet outs himself as believer in baseless, half-baked woo (like his ramblings about the Candida) - and when it comes to the merit, shouldn’t be let off the hook.

Calling a critic a "creep" is a really good way to play at emotions, especially those of the female audience. It immediately sends signals that make their "ick" senses go off, and they will almost always side with the woman calling someone a creep vs the "creep"

About the whole fashion thing, TBYS was totally right. So many people think they are ugly, because they try to imitate the looks of celebrities when it comes to fashion and makeup, not taking into consideration their own body type and colors being vastly different from said celebrities, hence needing different fashion and makeup to match. Had he claimed to be a gay man, then he wouldn't have gotten this anger from those women in response. I, as a woman, actually really appreciate it when people share this knowledge. But I notice that women tend to take more offense if a man tells them, instead of another woman, or a gay man. But regardless, TBYS gave actual good advice in his video. He wasn't mean about it either, just very blunt and factual. I know many people think being blunt is rude, but he was in no way hateful or malicious.

Obesity is a societal issue. American cities are designed in a way that causes obesity. You have to go out of your way to get fit, so it's a lot easier to just run the fat acceptance grift. Fat acceptance isn't going away until it stops being normal to sit down 90% of the day.
This is a good point. Our society is designed in a way that makes being fat very easy. One of the reasons is how car centric our country is. You can't go anywhere without a car because cities aren't designed to be walkable and public transportation is limited. This is why rural areas tend to have more obesity than urban areas. People are discouraged from walking where they need to go.
Canadian cities are just as bad and our obesity rate is significantly lower than the usa (almost half). In fact Canada’s obesity rate drop from roughly ~30% to just over 24% in the past decade

If people could comfortably go to the doctor without it possibly costing you a months rent, we could probably catch issues sooner and get people into a better place. Even with health insurance you could unknowingly go to a doctor outside your network especially if it’s an emergency and be out tens of thousands of dollars. Obesity is as much an educational issue as it is a laziness issue.

Humans are naturally going to choose the path of least resistance, so if you live in a society with a lot of convenience, then most people will choose to be lazy, aka get fat. I don't think the solution is "well duh, just make things inconvenient again so that fatties HAVE to exercise regardless of what they want to do". i've been a 40 pound underweight cancer patient and a 30 pound overweight couch potato and it always bugs me how many people flatly refuse to admit that you have total control over your weight and fitness. During chemo i had to despicably find any foods i could stomach that could keep me at a healthy weight. I also went from a 0wheelchair bound chemo patient so weak i had to relearn how to walk. It's not easy, you have to make sure you're eating controlled, healthy AND you need a strict workout regime. I mean imagine all the normal diet and workout problems that people like her deal with ad imagine ALSO being so radioactive that yo can use an airport wiht0oput setting off gieger counters and you're pissing blood daily. You can abosuktyl control your weight.

Think before you sleep is brutally honest. I've struggled with lots of health problems which have affected me physically and i have up and gained loads of weight. I think back to the days of sleeping in and not wanting to get up to now where i need to get up and workout. You don't realise how precious life is until your own body starts to fail you

The whole "powerless in the face of being unhealthy" rhetoric is as obnoxiously ridiculous as people complaining they don't have a certain skill set like playing an instrument or drawing. Even with limited options and time, you can accomplish these goals. The problem is these mindsets want an excuse to not put in the work and self-discipline necessary to improve. With some exceptions of course. Obviously.
Global food corporations control the water supply of several towns in multiple countries. They sell people bottled water that they don't do anything to filter or purify. They have children laboring away in farms to get the raw materials to create their addiction-inducing products. They market to families, to the young and impressionable, they market to the vulnerable and the miserable. They use the funds obtained from sales to perpetuate myths regarding nutrition by bribing scientists and fabricating entire studies. If laziness was enough to explain why people choose to eat that way, the marketing, the false studies, the control over people's water supply, etc. Would be unnecessary. But it's not enough to blame it all on laziness. And those "exceptions" you try to add to your statement quickly become the rule when you factor in _everything_ that is influencing people's decisions.
As someone who has Hashimoto's it's an Autoimmune disease that attacks my thyroid. Untreated no matter what I did I put on weight, slept a lot, and was overall not feeling well. It came to a point where I ate like 8 oz of nuts a day or air-popped corn so I didn't faint. Still put on weight it was such a bad time. Once it got in order, with the help of my doctor healthy eating and light working out. I lost my 50 pounds and 48 more! I deal with chronic pain and migrines. If I can do this anyone can! Just say you're happy with your size don't say you're healthy.

my peers feeding me that advice as a child is exactly why I've grown up with a binge eating disorder, it sucks (I'm at a healthy weight now, but the disorder hasn't gone away) there is absolutely nothing wrong with watching what you eat, and I hate how people try to say otherwise just because they're insecure and wanna be the victim

When it comes to the global warming and kids thing, Greta Thunberg is autistic (a point so many people wanted to use against at one point) and as a fellow autistic, we do kind of go overboard when dealing with certain types of bad news. It feels disingenuous to use her as an example as to why we shouldn't teach kids about climate change.
It's kinda sad how autistic people are still so, hated. People love the when they're on their side because, we tend to be passionate about our beliefs. But as soon as our beliefs no longer line up with theirs? It's easy contentent.

I do see your point (and TBYS), but in the case of his argument, I still think using Greta Thunberg's extreme reaction as a reason is a bad choice.
@BillyBob-kj4qq I mean, if a behavior is considered "abnormal", which Greta's reaction absolutely was, it shouldn't be used as an example as to why you shouldn't say or do something for the general public. I guess bringing up her autism wasn't really necessary outside of relating why, in this specific instance, the behavior is strange. If someone with social anxiety breaks down because there is no seating chart at an event and they don't know where to sit (true experience in my case, lol), that doesn't mean every event ever needs to have a seating chart. That's all I mean, using a neuro-divergent example as to why you shouldn't tell a majority of neuro-typical kids about a very real-life problem isn't a very honest argument.

You really just took everything at face value and spread misinformation that encouraged people to dox her.

Honestly when I hear about body positivity,my personal view on this topic is that "while acknowledging that being overweight is bad for people and health in general, overweight people deserve respect just like any other human being, while being aware of need to change to better themselves" I know I'm fat but I don't need to make it my whole personality or be reminded of it at every moment of my existence. Problem is that they cause actual problems for society, like needing hospitals to have heavy-duty beds designed for zoo animals, requiring firefighters to use specialised lifting equipment, needing multiple seats anywhere there's seating, not fitting inside crematoriums, etc. Morbidly obese people create a whole series of problems outside of their own bodies. Obesity is a societal issue. American cities are designed in a way that causes obesity. You have to go out of your way to get fit, so it's a lot easier to just run the fat acceptance grift. Fat acceptance isn't going away until it stops being normal to sit down 90% of the day.
This is a good point. Our society is designed in a way that makes being fat very easy. One of the reasons is how car centric our country is. You can't go anywhere without a car because cities aren't designed to be walkable and public transportation is limited.
This is why rural areas tend to have more obesity than urban areas. People are discouraged from walking where they need to go.
Canadian cities are just as bad and our obesity rate is significantly lower than the usa (almost half). In fact Canada’s obesity rate drop from roughly ~30% to just over 24% in the past decade

i've been a 40 pound underweight cancer patient and a 30 pound overweight couch potato and it always bugs me how many people flatly refuse to admit that you have total control over your weight and fitness. During chemo i had to despicably find any foods i could stomach that could keep me at a healthy weight. I also went from a 0wheelchair bound chemo patient so weak i had to relearn how to walk. It's not easy, you have to make sure you're eating controlled, healthy AND you need a strict workout regime. I mean imagine all the normal diet and workout problems that people like her deal with ad imagine ALSO being so radioactive that yo can use an airport wiht0oput setting off gieger counters and you're pissing blood daily. The whole "powerless in the face of being unhealthy" rhetoric is as obnoxiously ridiculous as people complaining they don't have a certain skill set like playing an instrument or drawing. Even with limited options and time, you can accomplish these goals. The problem is these mindsets want an excuse to not put in the work and self-discipline necessary to improve.

If laziness was enough to explain why people choose to eat that way, the marketing, the false studies, the control over people's water supply, etc. Would be unnecessary.
But it's not enough to blame it all on laziness.
And those "exceptions" you try to add to your statement quickly become the rule when you factor in _everything_ that is influencing people's decisions.
As someone who has Hashimoto's it's an Autoimmune disease that attacks my thyroid. Untreated no matter what I did I put on weight, slept a lot, and was overall not feeling well. It came to a point where I ate like 8 oz of nuts a day or air-popped corn so I didn't faint. Still put on weight it was such a bad time. Once it got in order, with the help of my doctor healthy eating and light working out. I lost my 50 pounds and 48 more! I deal with chronic pain and migrines. If I can do this anyone can! Just say you're happy with your size don't say you're healthy.
Have that too, luckily my parents caught on early, and I got thyroid suppliments before I got too insanely fat

If it was the year 2000 and a song got 50 million listens or something then most people will know their name (at least in america) because stuff like youtube, Instagram, tik tok, etc, didn't exist to expose us to every talented or interesting person on the planet. When it comes to the global warming and kids thing, Greta Thunberg is autistic (a point so many people wanted to use against at one point) and as a fellow autistic, we do kind of go overboard when dealing with certain types of bad news. It feels disingenuous to use her as an example as to why we shouldn't teach kids about climate change.
It's kinda sad how autistic people are still so, hated. People love the when they're on their side because, we tend to be passionate about our beliefs. But as soon as our beliefs no longer line up with theirs? It's easy contentent.
Ilyssa is autistic too, and I imagine a lot of her audience is. She should be mindful of what it was like for us when we were all young kids (I am as well)

If someone with social anxiety breaks down because there is no seating chart at an event and they don't know where to sit (true experience in my case, lol), that doesn't mean every event ever needs to have a seating chart. That's all I mean, using a neuro-divergent example as to why you shouldn't tell a majority of neuro-typical kids about a very real-life problem isn't a very honest argument.

Problem is that they cause actual problems for society, like needing hospitals to have heavy-duty beds designed for zoo animals, requiring firefighters to use specialised lifting equipment, needing multiple seats anywhere there's seating, not fitting inside crematoriums, etc. Morbidly obese people create a whole series of problems outside of their own bodies. They physically _cannot_ be treated normally.
