** UPDATE TO CLEAR CONFUSION ** Flanges must be shaved by 4mm for all kits, newer updated kits do not need machining for spider teeth, only flanges need to shortened.
Nice!! I thought that I had to send the gears for surface grinding, which would cost more than the kit itself.. But if installation is this easy, I'll go get a kit right away! Thanks, very instructive and helpful video!
Just a heads up, I came across one of racingdiffs videos regarding diff failure after their kit is installed. One of the points mentioned in the video is proper application of thread locker on the central locking pin bolt. I noticed you don't show that part in the video, might be worth giving that video a watch to make sure everything is shipshape
Hey bro love the vids very interesting stuff I remember when I did the seals on my diff there is a distance their supposed to go in, if they don't go in that set distance the diff seal will leak also replace your locking rings on your output shafts
Its been good so far, locks up well most times, i dont think its meant for heavy use like a track or drifting for extended periods of time, its good for daily driving
@@charlieclancy4006 Honestly I haven't driven with it yet to have any opinions, I will definitely make a review of the kit once I start driving the car again
Does this act like a welded diff in how it make tyre skipping when turning at a slow speed like for parking or does it allow the wheels to rotate at different speeds
fuck the racingdiffs lsd. literally went thru two kits and both failed within 1k miles. my e90 330i makes around 280hp and that was enough to shear the center pin that comes with the kit. also the screw that holds the cap on the central pin will unscrew itself and cause the cap to come loose even with threadlocker. diff oil is known to eat away threadlocker. also was a major pain in the ass to install center pin without shearing the c clip. went thru like 15 circlips that sit inside the bore of the central pin on installation of both lsd kits. got super lucky that on both times when my wheels locked up i didnt hit anyone. just slid out. super dangerous kit. DO NOT TRUST THESE. these should be illegal imo. went with an mfactory lsd and have been happy ever since.
Hey mr klein i have a few question of my e46 and things I want to get done to it is my first e46 and is auto wanted to know if you have ig and ask you some questions if is possible?

Yeah i thought so too.
how is the kit holding up months later?
@@mjacque6stacks You should post the question in the main thread mate.

Thanks for the video I just ordered the kit as soon as I saw this video 👍
Still waiting for update and nothing after 8 months hello mister
any updates? still holding up? hows it for daily driving? any complaints? thinking about ordering for my e46

@@_mrkleinis the lock up Change very noticable? Hows the drifting now If you have already tried?
maybe a forest green? white could look really good too
I was thinking white too, i got something a bit more wilder than that though haha
@@_mrklein Oh hyped to see it. Was thinking about wrapping my E46 too
Did you have the shafts ground down 4mm?
nope apparently the updated kit doesnt require it
They must have updated their kits. You use to have to get the spider gears milled down some. Hmm.
Yeah i thought so too.
Gotta show us a video of you doing some skids!
Most definitely
@@_mrklein also would you recommend the kit? ive got a 330ci i want to have some fun with but i dont wannna fork out $2,000 or weld my diff

@@_mrklein hurry up and drive it I wanna know how it is…
A fan of your videos btw
Do you shim you spider gears? In the previous kits this was a must. Thanks
Na didn’t need to, update kit doesn’t require it
Nice! How much differential oil did it take?
just around 1.5L
Looking forward to see in action. Is not the same as diff welding?
Not really, apparently it should behave like a LSD
The output flanges dint you machine them? I got mine and the instructions say they have to be machine 4mm so they can fit with the lsd
Newer kit doesn’t require machining
hello, from where did you buy the rear bumper diffuser?
its the OEM mtech 2 bumper with just a universal diffusor i found on amazon
Did u have to machine the output flanges?
Nope, the updated kit doesn’t require it
Does this act like a welded diff in how it make tyre skipping when turning at a slow speed like for parking or does it allow the wheels to rotate at different speeds
Should work like a normal LSD, no parking lot chirp but should still lock up when you put the foot down
What wing are you running?
NRG GT carbon
is it still holding up?
Yea so far seems good
U can better drift witht this diff?
Should be able to, I guess we will find out
why do you explain what you did instead of showing?
Hi
I’m confused are you putting a big wang and an lsd on a 325i with an automatic trans? Just buy a manual 330ci…
Impossible to find a clean one where i live, all projects start somewhere

dam bro i guess ill see what happens
Whyd your wheels lock up those 2 times were u trying to skid or was it by accident?
Hi, it's phantom grip or Racing diff ? I'm looking for my 320d snow. 😢.
I done sold my car already. Like actually
