Thanks Craig..Good thinking..I thought about a 'Ring' of grease, silicone or something similar, to stop the water getting in in the first place..I can see the washer you show helping that, but also holding it in, the water that is, even a wrap of greased string, or that stuff they use in the sanitary business might be of help..Thanks for the vid..I have subscribed as own '56 407 SW
If the space is filled up with grease no moist or condens will come in. The upper seal should be enough when the unit will be regreased with 1 -2 pumps from time to time. Fullfilling only bearings with low rpm! All bearings and joints of my DS21 from 1971 have a nipple.
Cool, I've had one ball joint replaced last year on a C6, had another one done last week, and the one replaced last year failed yesterday, so yeah, I'm sitting here scratching my head what to do. Prolly my guys at the shop bought some aftermarket ones instead of SKF. One of them was rusted to bits, so I wonder was it the seal or the cheaper bearings.
Yer there shit only by skf bearing but hears a good one genuine peugeot skf unipart badge up is skf qh is all so skf part number qsj33165 and gsj4707 and different price unipart cheapest and by peugeot 507 metal cover for over top
