- A new Rakdos storm commander and honestly. I think this one is good. We can get a lot of triggers from this commander. Not only that other players will give us triggers to.

If there ever was a Pestilence deck, this is it! Ob Nixilis even grows to avoid dying to the damage

Woah, nice! I completely spaced on the fact that it's any source of life loss. So opponents fetchlands, force of will, or even necropotence. Nice catch! Reading the card explains the card😂
This is really fun when an opponent have necro in play.
Grapeshot could be a storm payoff with underworld breach. It wouldn't feed the graveyard like brainfreeze but you would get a + 1/1 counter and exile the top for each storm. Sorta becomes like a manual storm. I'm pretty sure you could get there even if you don't combo off Ob would be able to oneshot anyone after that
I think I will have grapshot inside thie deck just because of the Really big amount of card draw you can get from it. Feels like an all star in this deck.
I love how this takes so many cards and just makes them kind of amazing. Passionate Archaeologist for example goes from a little extra damage to just basically adding draw a card to most 1 cmc cards you cast
It will only work it the spell cost 1. BUT STILL!
@@cedhtv It seems to me like Prosper is probably something Ob would want to be playing and paired with Passionate Archaeologist, Prosper makes the idea of a list heavily focused on 1 cost spells become kind of interesting. Disciple of the Vault for example would function both as a just reasonable card by itself and with the others also a pay off
Finally pulled him five seconds ago because my LGS didn't have a single, and BOOM first video on my feed....the stars have aligned
This commander looks bonkers. Kederekt Parasite, looks great in this deck, I love that card anyway so love to see a commander that really can take advantage of it. This is like a much stronger Florian. Prosper and Ob is also best buddies. Prosper even has 1 power for that extra value!
The deck can also play stuff like Sanctum of Stone Fangs and Spear Spewer. Loyal Apprentice too.
I have loyal apprentic in the deck currently. There are just so many strange cards that just works with this boss.
@@cedhtv So true. Retreat to Hagra could be cool too, I used to play that in Florian. One fetchland = exile your top 6 cards and gain 6 life for your Ad Naus :) Hope to see a full list and see some gameplay vids with this commander!

Also, I built Heliod, card draw storm so i might go on and try this Ob Nixilis style as well. Stay with the theme of storm
The first rakdos commander i might build. Mayhem devil in this deck is amazing. Pressuring live points to get value also works against opponents ad nause.

I just made a v1 of the deck on Moxfield call "Ob Nixilis Manual Storm v1" (subbing in Rograkh and Tevesh because Ob Nixilis isn't selectable as a commander rn) This seems like a really fun new take on Rakdos in cEDH and I like it
I already build around this card in my prosper deck. Its gonna be nuts. This with ruthless technomancer is awesome. Also great with chandras ignition :3 with urabrask is awesome too.

Can you imagine if he was a 1RB 1/3? Cheaper and triggers the first time he attacks? Yeah they probably gave him more than 1 power on purpose lol
I am surprised you didn’t mention the fact that he goes infinite with all will be one, yes it’s 5 mana but if you deal 1 damage after that is on the field it’s just infinite
Another commander that goes infinite and wins the game when you have “All Will be One” in play.
Better colors than “The Red Terror”
Also makes playing Manabarbs and Burning Earth playable.
All combat dmg is dealt simultaneously, ob will only trigger if one 1/1 deals dmg. If you attacked with two 1/1 and they both go through you deal exactly 2 damage.
reckless fireweaver, sensei's divining top and some sort of cost reduction effect for top = win
If Ob is blocked by a creature with 1 or 2 toughness, you can assign all but 1 damage to the creature to ensure he triggers himself
Don't think that will ever happened. Because he grows quite big.
@@cedhtv You can do it even if Ob is bigger. A trampling creature's controller can choose how the damage is divided, as long as enough for expected lethal is applied to the blocking creature(s). For example, if Ob has 10 power and is blocked by a 1 toughness creature, you can assign 9 damage to the creature and only 1 damage to the defending player.
@@Garryl367 indeed! This is also why Trample equipments are problematic in Slicer, as opponents can choose not to deliver trampling damage to your opponents HPs. Evasion or Protection from effects are just better with that archetype!

That feels like a second fire brand acrher but better. More expensive. But STILL!.
@@cedhtv I dont really know about what removal is played in the format, but I think the additional mana investment for increased toughness is stronger, as it no longer dies to 3 dmg removal spells. As an additional ping effect it seems great.
Another idea could be electrostatic field, as it is the cost of archer, is more durable and can efficiently block tymna/etc. Wondering about your opinions, love your videos.

@@cedhtv we gonna use our tutors to find Reality Scramble to use it on our Guild Artisan to flip into Omniscience, our commander is gonna allow us to recycle ♻️ our graveyard 🪦 to keep tutoring , drawing and producing mana with rituals until we get Enter the Infinite draw out library and win with Jace, Wielder of Mysteries. In that list I’m also looking for Hullbreaker Horror, but it’s probably not necessary and could stay with the Omniscience/Jace, Wielder of Mysteries line only.
You could run that enchantment that when a creature with power 1 attacks, it deals 1 damage to target creature! Cavalcade of calamity!

Another 1 card combo in the command zone with All Will Be One
Quick question: I know you say to not include bad cards because of a good synergy, such as [[roiling vortex]], but in this case the synergy feels very powerful, with ob "drawing" you 3 cards a turn. What is the line that a synergy would have to cross to be considered inside a commander, and how many of these cards would you even consider playing
So the big gameplan is to get ob nixilis into play. So in this case I would say we can include cards that demand synergy. But not to many.
So a Shock won't trigger this? Ob Nix says they have lose exactly 1 life, while Shock deals 2.

Reckless firewaver and sensei's top seems good. Propser or birgi makes this infinite. And they are all good anyways
Yeah. I am not a big fan of sensai top in generall. Not my kind of card. But I think I will eventually add it to the deck. It feels like a really good card potentially for this deck.
I see what you mean. I don't run it in a lot of decks personally but it provides top deck manipulation for the exile effect and with firebrand archer and kessig flamebreather being great options that provides 3 cards that let you dig very quickly.

It is a leaked card. It is not supposed to be spolied yet. wizard has sent Pinkertons to get these cards back and all kinds of strange things.
I am not kiding they have sent pinkertons to a persons house.
How does this card compare to Prosper?
Pretty sure it's better than Prosper. This can activate as many times as you can proc it in one turn, Prosper just once (and it's really good).

Yes. You need lightning bolt 3 damage effects in this deck.

This is a great commander, definitely gonna give this one a go. Just the interaction with mana vault, fetch lands and pain lands gives you so much draw.
I just playtest him and even recorded a game. And he feels like a mystic remora. People play so many city of brass effects.
@@cedhtv yeah that's how I thought he might play. The temption is to include a lot of ping effects but that might be "win more" just drawing of the pain lands and fetches is amazing and getting him out on turn 1 or two is key I feel. Bit tevesh and Roger, though this guy has a bit more the way of legs I feel.

Because it's both a staple for voltron strategies (Ishai, Slicer, others I guess), and in this case you did mention the voltron aspect of this ob nixilis, as with Jeska you can kill a player when your commander hits 7 power. And at the same time synergic with this very particular commander.
Also you can ping three opponents for one damage on the -X and proc ob nixilis three times.
Potentially if you cast it with two loyalty, you get turn one ping with -X, ob nixilis gets to 7 power, second turn you swing a player for lethal commander damage.
@@cedhtv consider this: you get the same effect of jeska's will for the same cost by using Jeska (PW) except you get +3/+3 on your commander instead of getting the mana. Almost like having two copies of Jeska's Will in the deck. Can't be that bad.
