thank you for another great video.
got my 1290 SAS at the end of april. mine is grey as well. put on comfort seats mainly because the originals are not heated. the wiring is there though.
already put on 6,500 km. done two trips. the first one to Çeşme/İzmir with my better half. the second one to Çanakkale alone. BMW GS might be a bit more comfy, but the performance is incomparable. this one simply explodes when you open the throttle.
as you aptly stated "Dr. Jekyll & Mr Hide character" of the bike is awesome.
I owned a Honda CBR 1100 Superblackbird and a Kawasaki ZX-10 R in the past. that background was the reason I chose this over a BMW GS and it did not dissapoint.
when you want it, the bike is a comfy two up adventure tourer. when you wanna hit some curves for some spirited riding, it feels like a tall superbike. second and third gear power wheelies and all the manic stuff.
can't wait to take it to a track day at Istanbul Park :)

Merhaba:) I am planning to buy one tomorrow as well. I have couple of questions if you do not mind?
      What about the service.
Are you still happy with the bike?
      Did you change the tire?
Do you have these head shaking (kata salami sıkıntısı) at 210km ?
Thanks for the great comment btw :)

I appreciate his honesty considering he's a BMW Rider. Let's face it most of us don't go out on Long hauls or take those thousand Mile trips. We stay around home. The fun factor is in the KTM. I honestly believe that the LC 8 engine in the KTM is arguably one of the best engines ever built into a motorcycle frame. And yes they're very reliable!!

I had a 2022 1290 SAS. It's a pretty great bike. Some flaws: the indicator control was horrific, since fixed for 23 as I saw in a dealership! Unfixed: For a massive engine, it's surprisingly easy to stall. It turns over more than you'd expect to start it. Very occasionally the dynamic preload would crap out and the bike would need a restart (dealer said 'yeah, they just do that'). But that's about it really. Otherwise it's a face pulling monster and a comfy tourer. If you don't want a face pulling monster, then yeah, a GS is a solid alternative. The KTM seat isn't all-day comfortable that's for sure.

I have got SAS 23 in Orange since July. I had 990 SMT and 1190SAS. I was not sure if I want change because 1190 was a great bike. Even test ride didn’t speak to me but after 8.5k on this bike I love it. It is completely different bike comparing to the old. Chassis, engine, electronic all together makes me so much smile on my face. Exhaust is ugly but since 2 weeks I have got Wings installed and the look and sound is awesome!!!

Same experience for me! I have a 2022 also with the wings. Wings even told me the factory luggage will still work with the exhaust!

Fastest, lightest, more nimble than others and also consumes least gasoline ( my average is 5.8 in city, 4.6 highway) ; however of course GS is more refined, reliable and comfortable. If you want to ride a naked bike disguised as an enduro, you should buy a KTM; Get ready for great fun. 🧡

Good Video I have done 23,000 miles on my KTM 1290 sas 2021 model coming from over 200,000 mile son BMW GS GSA i have to say the build quality on the KTM out shine the beemer particularly in the plastics so much stronger and the whole feel of the bike if you feel it going over is far better on the KTM. The new GS1300 weight is not going to be as good as the KTM as all the BMW press show the lighter bike as in the STD Army issue model as soon a you put a extra on it were back in big weights! That said until I ride one I'll await my decision which will be my 2024 bike ? The GS Headlight will take some living with LOL. If you think KTM's are ugly BMW GS has now taken the crown. I also hate how BMW don't give you a back brake light module just indicators? Having been Rammed in the rear on my GS 1250 Rallye I can't see why they've taken the light off! Anyway all will b reviled after test rides.. Thanks for the video ride safe youtube@flapjackandbeans

Yes, I've owned a 2015 KTM 1290SDR for almost 5 years and never had any problems, just changed the oil and regular service intervals, that's it. I also know Karl, the SAS guy, I just did a 2 week trip with me on my RT and him on his 2017 1290SAS and he has never had a problem either. I had a 2023 790 adventure as a loaner bike (yes, the chinese one :) ). Brand new, 500 and a bit kms on board and the quickshifter had a 50-50 chance of trowing a false neutral when shifting from 4th to 5th. Yesterday I went to the dealer, early in the morning and about 5 KTMs (including two 1290 S ) were purring nicely outside and when I asked why, the dealer said it's because they need to be ready for potential customers to try. I didn't press the topic at that moment but later I rememberd something about KTMs sometimes not running perfectly if they are a bit cold ... And then you have the not insignificant ammount of not so good experiences from different riders with all sorts of issues, mainly electronic. I remember watching a video from a guy called AndiManCam, and a friend of his who joined a ride on a new 1290 super duke, had all sorts of electronic issues. That being said, I thing they are amazing machines when they work as advertised but that last part seems to be a matter of luck ....
