FINALLY!!!!I love my Zulu! I first got mine during COVID without the pedal drive. Just like Kevin said, I purchased the drive and installed it within an hour or so. Now I have a minn kota with a Pro/Nav angler gps system for spot lock🤙my yak is awesome but so is the customer service. I have a few vids on my Instagram account but just recently started trying to record stuff so hopefully more in the near future. Glad you had a chance to show the Kaku yaks. Take care🤙
My daughter just bought a house and moved from Ohio to Tarpon Springs, it’s an awesome area ! I’ve visited her several times times and will be down there again in April . I’ll be sure to check out Kevin’s shop. I personally have an AP 120 that I keep at her house and they have some of the best salt and fresh water fishing in the area. Beautiful parks and waterways. Floridas best kept secret
I wanted to add a pedal kayak with my center console boat and I'm glad I ran into this video. I use to live in Palm Harbor and wish I knew about this company then. I'm looking at the Zulu pedal kayak. Love the honesty and fishing mindset from Kevin. Love the build quality!

I had a Zulu and the tracking, paddling etc was pretty good. I found two things lacking: the pedal drive and the seat. I’ve seen that there’s a fix to help keep the pedal drive more secure as it would wobble side to side and didn’t feel “solid” as you pedaled. As for the seat it was the deal breaker for me. Too low and very uncomfortable. If there was an alternative seat akin to Bonafide or NuCanoe, I would have just swapped out and motorized it. Sold it a few months ago and am now super comfy in an Unlimited. Kevin is a good dude and does our city of Tarpon Springs proud.
When did you test your Zulu pdl because this is is solid, seat sits very high, 6.5 ft plus guys maybe want it taller, I'm gonna measure its high versus the other you mentioned
@@AliexFolgueira I put mine on the water in April of last year. I have long legs and found that a day of tournament fishing was fatiguing, and the lack of lumbar support was glaring as well. Just my $.02.
@elizabethz569 mine felt solid, pushed it hard, I know a lot of people wants the chair super high or extra back support and stuff, a complaint I hear a lot from other brands as well, solutions I would say, kayak ,cushion and seat raisers
@@AliexFolgueira Kevin came out with an upgraded mounting system for the pedal drive. You can upgrade the original one for like $7. It comes with that plastic mount and the clips that clip the drive-in place. It makes it way more secure.

Pedal drives aren't dead. I prefer the simplicity of throwing a pedal drive in and fishing hands-free. No battery cables or registration to have to deal with. It's just easier. I like to paddle also. That's why I have a Zulu
I've only had a few opportunities to take my Voodoo out. It's been on a pond, a lake and a small river. It tracks extremely well. It paddles very well for the size. I am tempted to put a motor on it when I retire and get to fish a lot. My granddaughter went with me one time. I set up a beach chair that I strapped down with long Velcro straps and an eyes on the front rails. It was super easy to set up and it worked perfectly and she had a great time. I'm really looking forward to your review of it. Thank you Alex!

Great scalloping in Anclote river area. My friend’s home is probably 1-2 miles away. Beautiful water. We would have beautiful water like that in Cape Coral if Florida Lake O discharges would stop.
I was worry about the drive too, remember that awful experience with vanhunks propel drive ? I put the Zulu with the drive on the water as soon as possible I was like I need to make sure this thing works before I make any video, and it did work! It was solid, it didn't pop out, it didn't wobble, it felt like a pdl kayak from the get go, like the natives.

Go thru the the top videos on this channel dating back to 2017, it has always been about kayaks, bigger kayaks, small plastic boats, big boats and I have been getting "free stuff " since 2016 IF you can call driving 10 hours and spending the whole week working "free"

I had a Zulu and the tracking, paddling etc was pretty good. I found two things lacking: the pedal drive and the seat. I’ve seen that there’s a fix to help keep the pedal drive more secure as it would wobble side to side and didn’t feel “solid” as you pedaled.

I had the Zulu , I recommend it for paddle power . Often times removing the seat and use as a sup. It was heavy but performed well
Heavy for a super but not for a kayak, nice middle ground, with a nice kayak kart it is weightless
I really like this set up I think I am going to have to order one of these bad boys!
They do what Kevin says they do, draft shallow, paddle well, stand up easy even on the high seat
