    I never would have thought that anything could surpass Itzhak Perlman’s performance of this!!! I thought a piano really didn’t show the depth of emotion and touch the soul as deeply as the violin, just as I feel the violin can’t compare to the piano for Claire de Lune, but you proved me wrong!!! (I’d LOVE to hear you perform that) You are an Artist, a true one of a kind Master who has touched all of us with your heart, passion, brilliant skills.....your music is like Valium for my body and mind. I too, have played this over and over! Keep up your beautiful videos, your music is like beautiful poetry, sure wish you you did live performances

      Jane, you are so so so kind! Thank you so much for this! I'd never think of comparing myself to Itzhak Perlman... something I've actually mentioned to people in person is how much this pieces sings through him and his violin, and I could only hope that I captured a fraction of that spirit. I do perform once in a while... in fact I have two concerts in the Phoenix area this month! But no, I don't yet play outside of Phoenix (where I live) very often. I'd love to!

      Charles Szczepanek You are to the piano what Itzhak Perlman is to the violin!!!! I never thought the emotion in that song could be translated and interpreted to the piano with such depth of emotion as the way you do it. My grandfather was a Hungarian Jew and this song means so much to me. I listen to many violinists and pianists on line and you are the virtuoso of them all!! Well, now I know I can purchase your work which I’m thrilled about! I will check to see if you are performing next time we’re in Arizona. We would love to see you perform live .
      My husband and I listened to your beautiful Christmas song arrangements last night. What a gift you have, which is then a gift to all of us which you so kindly share!! May we reciprocate by supporting you and also by purchasing your work!! Thanks again for sharing your art !

      Thanks again, so much, Jane! I'd be very interested to hear your grandfather's story. From what I know, most of my family immigrated to the States just prior to WWI, but there's no way for us to really tell anymore because of so many records missing... Shameless plug... I have a Patreon page where some of the most interested people can keep in touch with me. Those patrons helped to fund this entire video. Check out the page here: www.patreon.com/charlesszczepanek I'll also send you a complimentary copy of my new album (CD or digital download) if you sign up! Father God through Jesus Christ gave me the gift of music, for typical players they wouldn't be banging the keyboards like you did. Is it true that one of your ancestors and or your loved one's ancestors have been the victim of Auschwitz concentration camp? If so then thank you on expressing your anger out loud, bc that's also my anger if I was to play on the piano.

    • @CharlesSzczepanek
      @CharlesSzczepanek  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@FatBellyChemist1234 Because my ancestors came from Poland and Alsace-Lorraine there's a very high likelihood that someone in the bloodline was a victim, but we aren't sure as most or all of the family records were destroyed during the war. Was a family member of yours a victim of the Holocaust?

    • @FatBellyChemist1234
      @FatBellyChemist1234 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CharlesSzczepanek I am deeply sorry to hear this, from what I am aware is that no, because I'm nostly Chinese but I do have European ancestry too, mainly German and Italian. From what you're playing of piano you did express your ancestor's anger even your very distant relative's anger, sadness, depression, physical and mental trauma, bc it wasn't addressed properly at the time. Good on you for doing that justice for victims, more is needed I think. What I know is that my bf's grandpa was deeply affected by one of the nazi party member did curse him and his 1st borns and their relationships, including marriages, friendships and financial stuff; one of the curses was that the 1st born had to do prostitution to get rid of excess bills ; the other curse was the 1st borns to live less than 50 to 70 y.o. So when my bf told me his I was deeply furious, I felt Father God's great anger. So the issue was addressed, by breaking all those curses in Jesus' mighty name.

      I agree totally. I swear, I don't think that I have ever felt a piano "weep" like it does here. I don't simply mean sadness. If musical instruments are an analog of the human voice, then it also follows that under a practiced hand, they can be an analog of the human spirit as well.

For over a year.. I've been listening to this masterpiece every day. It is for me a relief, a place of comfort. The beauty and the story behind ,all the little details, the depth, the way it all conects together is just incredible..again undescribable in words. And the way this is all performed..the level of work..dedication, the hundreds of hours spent behind this 5 minutes of art. I hope this reaches you, Mr Charles. What I was trying to say was that you play so skilfully, you make it look easy to play, which of course it isn't. Also making the sound irresistible to the ear is more than knowing the notes, it's about the sound pouring out from your heart down to the fingers and lighting up the keys like fireworks. That is what you do, which is why I love listening and more still watching your hands fly over the keys. As you play, I keep thinking of scenes from the movie, "Schindler's List" and my eyes fill with tears. You have so much emotion in your playing coming from your heart. You have a wonderful talent!
