- Main theme of Schindler's List as a tribute to John Williams
during honoring his achievements at AFI Life Achievement Award 2016 (as the first composer honoree).
Conductor: Gustavo Dudamel
American Youth Symphony
Soloist: Simone Porter
I have always wanted to see John Williams's own reaction to this theme and here it is!
I do not own any copyright of the video. - เพลง
It’s as if the violin is crying. Unquestionably one of the greatest pieces of music ever written.
How much pressure was that violinist feeling. I can't fathom it
Listen to Chopin's Nocturne in C Sharp minor
Jurassic Park theme is better than this theme
@@macdeep8523 I won’t argue. Just goes to show how brilliant Williams is, to compose both those scores in 1993.
@@macdeep8523 I can't believe You Say that seriously
John Williams has that look on his face like “I can’t believe I’m responsible for this masterpiece”
What is interesting is when Spielberg asked him to compose the score for this film he said he could not and told Spielberg to find someone better. Spielberg replied with "I would, but they are all dead." Such a great backhanded compliment if I say so.

Playing Schindler'list theme in front of Spielberg and Williams... What an accomplishment for a musician 😍
Or….Spielberg, Williams and Perlman??? :)
When Spielberg asked John Williams to write the score for Schindler’s List he showed him an early cut of the movie. Williams stood up and walked out of the screening room. He came back in a few minutes later crying and said “you need someone better than me to write music for this.” And Spielberg said, “I know, but everyone better than you are dead.”
If that is true that is heartbreaking.

Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes nailed their role.
Add Kingsley.

Neeson, Fiennes, and Kingsley all should’ve won awards that year. Specifically Neeson
I'd have to say this has to be Spielberg and Williams magnum Opus. The score and film itself is such a great piece of art that should never be forgotten.

Never forgotten like the Holocaust itself. We need to stop tearing down monuments and destroying history whether good or bad. The old adage is true about those who forget history.
I think i have found the most Beautiful Piece of Music EVER Written. The Final Note....Staggering.
The look on John Williams' face at 0:35 and at 3:12 says it all
Very good piece but Beethoven also has some really beautiful pieces.
It is a beautiful piece no doubt and a heartfelt one as well. For me it is the power of music that carries us and touches the souls and conscience to never forget lest the past should repeat itself. Beethoven is a different matter
Bach's Chaconne

Can we take a moment and say how extraordinary Simone Porter's performance was? That final high pitched run, and climatic note were perfection!
Simplemente increíble. Muy desgarrador. Sin duda la mejor en tocar este tema.
Outstanding!!!❤❤❤
Perlman would be proud.
To be honest I prefer other solists on that wonderful song. Too fast played and I miss the emotion.
Absolutely. The best rendition I've heard after Perlman himself.
John Williams has an extraordinary sensibility for composing musical scores that perfectly capture the essence of a film. This is definitely heart-wrenching beauty.
He said he never created this song for the film, but only for the six million murdered for the money of industry
Sometimes I wonder how people could get so inspired and compose something so magnificent that makes others just cry.
Spielberg's reaction says it all bravo
Yeah, and this film maker is pretty much like George Lucas because their movies are proof that they are born to be legends.
Mr. Williams looked almost as if he was in shock. The violinist was superb, her instrument weeping with those who suffered! Beautiful music.
How blessed we are to grew up and have music from John Williams and Hans Zimmer. GOATS

Yeah, and I never thought that film makers like George Lucas and Steven Spielberg can be so inspiring
If there ever was a piece of music that captured the horror and sadness of the holocaust this was it. Truly one of the best pieces of music ever written in the time of my life!
It's comforting to know I'm not the only one who cries every time I hear this music.
Everytime I hear this theme I remember that last seen where Schindler collapses asking why he couldn't just save one more. Then the tears well up. It's even more when you look at Spielberg and Williams face like they are back making the movie again and the emotional moment.
What a brilliant violinist, she makes Williams' composition vibrate with endless emotion.
John Williams knows the notes to our souls. What a kind hearted genius.
The score itself brings me to tears. Adding the backdrop of the movie it accompanied just gives it the gut punch. Together, both film and score are true masterpieces.

This piece is like a hand reaching out inside my soul and squeezed the living hell out of my heart. I bawl my eyes out every single time I hear it without fail. The movie is also a masterpiece.
Gustavo was our conductor in Gothenburg. Regardless of the music he always brought new meaning, new emotion. This is simply sublime.
The sheer genius of John Williams....just incredible. Plenty of movie composers....but the depth of his work especially this one...it's visceral and moves you to a whole other plane. You can see him living the music he wrote. Just brilliant.

Amazing violinist, Simone Porter !!
masterpiece by a masterpiece
Extraordinary performance from Simone Porter. What an honour at the same time.

The man is simply a super hero without a cape, simply put the GOAT of all GOATS
This music speaks for all those who died, John did one masterpeace for all the time.

I have never heard such an emotional piece it would bring tears to anybody's eyes
John Williams is to film scores what the Beatles are to pop culture… made all our lives that much better after having listened to them…❤
This piece of absolute wonderful art of music gets me each time leaving me behind shattered in tears.
Most rhythmically accurate version on youtube. Saw many good others, soloists are playing their part with great emotions but forget about chemistry with an orchestra. In this version that aspect is almost perfect.
One of the most moving soundtracks ever scored... I have goosebumps right now just listening to it.
So much emotion, crying. Stephen and John just pure emotion, no words.
3:12 Williams looks like a most critical maestro, overseeing the absolute correctness of the intonation and interpretation of his masterpiece, himself. If I knew I'm fixed by these attentive eyes, I'd be too nervous to play like her. And still: To me, this was the most moving interpretation I've ever heared, with even better emotional dynamics than all of Perlman's interpretations I know. Splendid!
This theme is so haunting, and it once again shows how John Williams makes his music a character in a film.
I always felt the higher violin was the voice of the children and lower were the adults. Such a tender and heartfelt song! Bravo John Williams!!!! ❤️🎶❤️

The haunting tune that digs deep into your emotions and hails the mighty John Williams!
I don't know how someone can listen to this, understanding the message behind it, without weeping. Exquisite.
This is gorgeous and very well done; however, I will always love the presentation of simply John Williams at the piano and Itzak Pearlman on the violin. Chilling, simple and heart-wrenching.
