A stunning performance....the tempo and the phrasing are spot on. Let us not forget that this came from the hands and heart of John Williams... a national treasure.
One of the most beautiful modern melodies written for the violin … it truly brings out the lyrical magic of this instrument … and brings tears to the eyes
I’ve heard this played by many different violinists and each time I say the last rendition was the best. But this time I think it’s true. Moving to the point of tears.
The first time i heard this piece of music i was driving and it started playing on the radio. I had not seen the film not sure i had even heard of it at the time. The day was warm and sunny and as it played i found myself crying and had to pull over. The most haunting piece of music i think i have heard, even today years later and having seen the film and listen to it a hundred times it still make me cry with both the joy of the music and the terrible events it represents
Heather, this is my favourite piece of music. I'm a grown man, but I can't get through it without shedding a tear. I also highly recommend this rendition: th-cam.com/video/hCMZ6YOFS1A/w-d-xo.html
This piece really embodies all the heart breaking events highlighted in the movie. Schindler's List just like the Pianist are amazing films that do leave you with a heavy heart at the end.
@@spa97229 Really beautiful and virtuous arrangement, but imho I think the piece conveys more feeling when played on an instrument like a violin. Thanks for the recommendation anyway
Sitting here with tears pouring down my face. This rendition is perfection. The violin is crying...screaming... dying...such a heartfelt and honest performance.
As a young child Living in England. I look back now in my 80s. Not being aware then , of the mass slaughter of my Continental peers that was going on . Germany owes the human race so much...Then there is Oridor in France...It makes one want to weep..!
She's got tiny hands but still stretched to an incredible 8th or 9th position on the G string and perfectly in tune. That's a really brave thing to do on such a delicate piece in front of 6,000 people. Kudos...and a lovely, colourful, musical performance. Wonderful.
Finger stretching exercise's for years since she first started playing will do it. I'm sure she was told that she has small hands and that shouldn't dissuade her from playing. Desire, persistence does pay off.
I'm a male but have smallish hands. People are amazed at my guitar playing skills. I can stretch as far as people with hands twice the size of mine, when I need to. Where there's a will, there's always a way. I love to play and entertain people as well 🙂
A rare performance with the outmost phrasing, dynamics, bowing, vibrato, timing and atmosphere, capturing the refined spirit between pain, sorrow, tragedy and optimism in humanity.
For me, the defining rendition of Schindlers List Chloe has such a unique understanding of this piece. Fabulous bowing, phrasing, sparing use of vibrato plus semi staccato type phrase end notes. Chloe does not wallow in sentimentality with buckets of rubato thrown in rather she let’s the natural dynamics of the piece flow unhindered. Never a dry eye for me. Wonderful
This is still my favourite rendition, the pace is slower and allows Chloe’s intonations of such depth of sorrow but also of sweet, soaring, delicate heights of emotion to fill our hearts. Superb Chloe. Thank you.
They were so many versions. But she plays it so beautiful, with such more emotion as other. Perfect. Only perfect. Only this version will make tears running over the face...
i am humble to say that this is the most emotional performance of this piece available on youtube. A huge and heartfelt thanks to Chloe. i love it so much that she plays this a bit slower than the original by Perlman - i am spechless
Ngo Manh Hung .she is very good, but for emotion look up Xaver Varnus :Schindler's list in the largest European Synagogue. The emotion on the faces of the Jewish people is heartbreaking and brought me to tears. God Bless.
I played piano years ago. I attempted to study this music, but it is such a hauntingly magnificent composition that I had to stop because of my emotions. Our family lost two members at the horrendous camp at Auschwitz. I saw the movie only once, and my emotions took over for almost the entire movie.
If you have a beautiful melody and want it played the best it can be,Chloe should be on top of the list to bring out the emotional content. Lovely version of John Williams' gorgeous tune.
I just came from the video of Maxim Vengerov's Masterclass, when Chloe Hanslip was just 11 years old. Take a look at her now! What a talented and beautiful girl she is!
Love both the fast and slow version! The slow version is like an echo, a recall of full night of dream in the morning... wanted to hold on to the beauty of the memory.
The violin is literally crying. It's in so much pain!!! The pain has been held for so long until the violin could hold it no more and busted in tears. I can feel the pain.
Absolutely exquisite and, hands down, the most beautifully interpreted I have ever heard. I have listened to many other classical violinists play this but Ms. Hanslip is truly the most riveting and her 1737 Guarneri del Gesu violin is a wonderful partner.
I have listened to every rendition of this musical masterpiece, and have shed tears to each one. Remembering the victims of the darkest part of our history 🙏🙏🙏
I think that the genius behind this piece, John Williams, wanted to send us all to that horrific time, so to never forget it, this is why so many people reports shedings tears, as I myself
To all the beginner violinists out there,Chloe's bowing is just about perfect in legato using the entire bow to get a seamless sound between the notes(which I think is the key to this piece producing that yearning mournful sound;the notes seem to just flow into each other;of course perfect intonation helps!! Its hard, but practice is the key.You can do it!! Dan.
What Williams and these musicians have done with this song has captured not only the movie, obviously, but the un-Godly reality of the pain, misery, and suffering of the victims of the Holocaust itself. With every stroke of the violin and note from their instruments, ...a cry!
This is so beautiful, it really touches my soul!! I have seen different performances of this song. But this really the best one. She really shows the beauty of her calm staps and then her speeding up and finishes it of with pure drama and emotion 🥲
From her first note and her expression you could feel this was something special. Those lingering moments brought you into the full emotion of the story William's wanted you to experience and feel. Beautiful, sad, poignant and it made me cry at the enormity of the importance and message of this film.
Look very closely at the lady's face while she handles the violin - look very close! Look at her soul! She is not playing the music - she is living it! Everything she has is flowing into that instrument. -- It is a prayer to God! -- old man bob
Well I have to say that I am a guy who in no way do I have a classical bone in my body...that just moved me to tears and I am so grateful I came across this clip...beautiful
I first found Ms Hanslip in a masterclass with Maxim Vengerov just over 12 years ago. She was a teenager. I thought: "She'll be just an alright violinist". I now see this and it's my favourite version of the great piece. Even better than Perlman's!
Stunning performance! For some reason only this version brings me to tears each time I listen to it. Chloe's performance is not technically the most accurate, but her playing unlike others just hits me to the core..
A quality rendition of a John Williams classic played so beautifully certainly one of the best I have witnessed congratulations Chloe for a masterclass in musical professionalism.
Every bit of her performance of this masterpiece by John Williams is perfect and it has so much detail in it!! This is my favorite version apart from the original one by Isaac Perlman!
I can only think of the word “anguish” listening to her interpreting what feels like the only theme there could be for this tragedy of man’s history, as I felt also reading the stories of Etty Hillesum, Victor Franklin, Edith Stein, Saving the Jews, Magda Hellinger, Elie Wiesel, and even Dietrich Bonhoeffer. God forgive us.
A stunning performance....the tempo and the phrasing are spot on. Let us not forget that this came from the hands and heart of John Williams... a national treasure.

🌈That's music magic

OMG. It's amazing. I'm crying as her violin is crying.
I’ve heard this played by many different violinists and each time I say the last rendition was the best. But this time I think it’s true. Moving to the point of tears.
I agree with you!

Beautiful and tragic at the xame time

It’s such a marvellous tribute to the Holocaust victims.

I’m still crying after 22 years later when I listen to it.
Sitting here with tears pouring down my face. This rendition is perfection. The violin is crying...screaming... dying...such a heartfelt and honest performance.
This is my favorite rendition. So much emotion.
teghlura ho yes
Played perfectly! Slow somber and sadly stunning music ! When its played slowly like this its so much better ! Perfect !
Just beautiful. Reminds me of the untold millions who lived and died in such terrible conditions. RIP

Watch her in maxim vengerovs masterclass :D
Omg she is good thats how it should be played best ive heard

Where does the violin end and she begin.
Bravo bravo bravo!! The most beautiful rendition of this famous piece.
I love the slower paced version (this one), it adds much more feeling into it rather than the short one which makes it feel rushed.
By far,the best version i ever saw...epic😭👍
The best versions out of the 10 I have listened to. The speed the dynamics the phrasing, it s bravo.
seancloser I contend that it's way too slow.
+Aragorn Stellar on the contrary, i think the others are too fast. We don't go so fast when we face something so sorrowful.
I like the fast version by perlman and the standard version by Nicola benedetti .....her recordings and live performances are stunning
I love the slow tempo she play,,, just perfect and I love how clear her lower notes are....
My favourite version is Nicola Benedetti's, but as a Scot I'm possibly biased
A rare performance with the outmost phrasing, dynamics, bowing, vibrato, timing and atmosphere, capturing the refined spirit between pain, sorrow, tragedy and optimism in humanity.
It’s has such a sad , but at the same soothing and comforting tone . Such a perfect and beautiful piece of music ❤️
Best interpretation of the violinist that I've heard. The details are so intricate. Very emotional.
For me, the defining rendition of Schindlers List Chloe has such a unique understanding of this piece. Fabulous bowing, phrasing, sparing use of vibrato plus semi staccato type phrase end notes. Yes this performance is very special indeed!. In fact pretty unique particularly in the phrasing and tempo.

after years hearing Itsak Perlsma's performance, this one made me astonished, by far the most beautiful and best presentation
Totally agree!
Simply beautiful ,she plays this just a bit slower than most and it works just brilliant
Chaim Falkowitz he is the original player. No comparison. But she’s not bad. I just don’t like the slower speed
I think slower ver is better

quite a lot slow than Perlman: 4min 30 secs to his 3:30

c'est vrai, c'est magnifique....
And it's a viola or a violin??? I'm not a musician. But it sounds as heavenly music
The violin cries. She is amazing and does honor to this music.
