    Hey lee I have a question, is the 3 feet of floral needed or can you just add the leads to the main line? 3:17

    Thanks for posting this! Nice. When you get a fish on do you let it “chew” on the bait for a little bit or do you rip a strong hook set right away?

    Lee: I'd like to see a short video on how you make that sucker nose clamp.
    I pretty much have the basic idea of the rig but I'm not sure why you use the split rings on the clamp and not just tie the leader to the clamp instead of tying it to the split ring attached to the clamp.

    • @TodaysAngler
      @TodaysAngler  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Demo is in tomorrow's vid. The split rings are used to attach the wire leads to hooks.

      Wouldn't use cut bait for muskies but for catchfish we do and use a large circle hook.

    You know, there were studies done in Norway on the nervous system of fish. Fish actually don’t feel pain because they don’t have the physiological ability to.

    Just asking about cut bait. I plan on using circke hook next and will use braided line. I have been watching your videos to learn which way to pull for hook ups. I was catfishing when musky or muskies came for 2 hours eearly in the morning after my skipjack and creek chubs. How long yyou usually wait before setting your hook after musky takes the bait?

  • @ianonufer6988
    @ianonufer6988 ปีที่แล้ว

    1. Thanks for the video. 2 any recommendations on steel line and crimper. 3 Here in PA I will be using 4-6 inch creek chubs for musky so what size hooks would you recommend. Where I fish people have caught 45 inches so I only want to go as big or small as needed. And also is this something you want to build on the fly based on the bait you are using or do you kinda do a rough estimate for all bait assuming they are close to same size. That was a bunch of questions but I really want to try to get into this. I got a batching musky spot 20 minutes from the house but the water runs pretty shallow and I have already lost tons of lures and only had 1 follow. Talked to some dudes down there they catch with bait but I also want to use quick strike to try to preserve the musky

    • @TodaysAngler
      @TodaysAngler  ปีที่แล้ว

      That small of bait I would use a 2/0 single hook.

      @Todays Angler thanks brother appreciate it. I thought it was kinda small myself but that's they eat where I go I suppose and thats what they catch them on

    Lee after switching to those nose clamps on our suckers we have noticed they last longer and swim much more freely. When would you use this technique vs the finesse circle hook technique you showed last year?

    • @MadisonAngling
      @MadisonAngling 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You only need to use a quick strike rig on suckers over 8 inches in WI. Anything under you can rig however you want. You can also use a non-offset circle hook instead of a quick strike rig on suckers over 8 inches, too. dnr.wi.gov/topic/fishing/documents/regulations/FishRegs1819Web.pdf on page 8

    • @TodaysAngler
      @TodaysAngler  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Herbie Rig is nothing like that. Steve used a treble with a safety pin soldered to treble, not a small livebait hook. Also used the rubber band to nose of bait, not the wire nose clamp.
