    Welcome back!
    I've been wanting to buy a Trident, as I already have a 2.4 that works wonders. I'm super curious to see what you can come up with for the Trident, as that most likely will be my experimentation machine, and the Tap Changer sounds like the best idea for it.
    Can't wait!

    been working on something similar. my idea was to take two endstops wired in parrallel, one for top and one on the gantry so a swap is simply an extra homing command and movement

    you could do what VzBot had done for the Z which is one motor in the middle and moving 2 pulleys for both sides and maybe use 2.4 z drive or Galileo 2 z drive (i heard there might be XL version for bigger 2.4 printers but this is more expensive solution) for more power, also replacing front extrusions with 2040 might help if the motor starts overheating since it's so close to the bed

      Middle motor kinda sucks with the voron layout, there is too much stuff going on in the middle.
      Galileo xl might be interesting. The current Zdrive is too underpowered/slow for this.
