So on an IDEX machine like this, would it make sense to home the right extruder first in the left direction by pushing the left extruder to the left endstop, then move the right extruder out of the way and home the left to the same switch? (or vice versa) Since then you're homing both print heads to the same endstop and not introducing position errors between the two head home positions?
Firstly the micro switch and home procedure is accurate enough to never skip even a single micro step. Otherwise you would have to do the semi-automatic nozzle offset calibration between each nozzle every time you stop the motors. This would be a problem even if you homed as you said. So since you need enough accuracy to always get the exact same position no matter what. It might as well be a method that doesn't complicated motor control, or tool head geometry.
its not louder than other printers of this type, i have been extremly close with the kamera to the printer when recording. also when homing i need to move slowly, its ocnfigured to print fast. every stepper, depending on the driver config, has its loud and quiet speed ranges. its jsut configured to be efficient at printing speeds
@@HelgeKeck but is that configuration like a "silent" mode as Bambu´s? Do you have measured DB like 1m away from the printer in "silent mode", "normal mode" and "ludicricious fast?" I really want one of those V4 IDEX 500x500 but i can't afford my neighbors dumping me from my apartment....
Looks great cant wait to have one and document it for every one.
Love it! You have "v-cured" the slow and tedious mesh bed leveling routine 🤘
is that beacon?
The beast!
Oh,... I can hear my wallet screaming (dont do it) but darn I wanna buy one! I'd love the IDEX, would go for 500...
🤣
I'm really looking forward to the release of this! Eager to see the kinematics solution
Jesus Aare you trying to flatten the bed as per a CNC ? 😉 You're a master !!!
More please!
That is a fast bed mesh! Is that a 300 RR? I have a 500 in the Que
its a 300, yes
Awesome what tool head board is this running?
EBB42 V1.2

I'd love to add a RR V4 Idex to my setup, it looks like a great machine with fantastic engineering, but oh my is that thing LOUD?!

@@VascoRocha you can have it loud or quiet, depends on how you configure it and how fast you print
What is the best size (sweet spot) for the IDEX?
there is no answer to that question, this depends entirely on your use case. fo rme its the 300 for other people the 500
Extrusionless! That’s interesting, how does it perform?
i do not recommend to do that, i just do it bc i dont have enough money to buy a full length extrusion
@@HelgeKeck 😂😂😂😂
Did you get better IS results?
@@nunovicente34 honestly, dont do that on a idex, its a bad idea
what is extrusionless? you mean no plastic printing, right?
@@VascoRocha não amigo! Se tu vires não tem nenhuma extrusao/perfil no eixo do X, só o linear rail
I got my vcore 4 but no ratos 2.1 so it’s just all sat in a box
RatOS V2.1 is already in RC state, it will be available when your printer is fully build
That's silly, get to work! It'll take you longer to build than it'll take me to push the publish button :D
beacon touch ?
no
No X gantry?
EDIT: Chopped X gantry? Interesting.....
