The key to weight loss.... Discipline. How bad do you want it? Spend time off prepping for healthy meals.

I had the gastric sleeve 3 yrs ago and I lost 160 lbs. I have kept it off for 3 yrs. I remember sitting in group thing before you actually get the surgery and people crying about gaining weight back. I had a friend who had a gastric bypass and gained back 170 lbs. Its not a magic bullet but a powerful tool. I dont follow some special diet. When you have weight loss surgery , the first 6 months to a year afterwards is a gift. No cravings, no hunger, its like a quiet time. During that time I decided to work on myself on why I was using food as a numbing device. Lots of things happened during those three years , 20 yr marriage ended, lost jobs, dog died. Back in the day it would have been endless threesomes with Ben and Jerry, now I just deal with it. Also I learned to say no and dont need to be liked all the time. In weight loss surgery groups when they are talking about gyms and diets. I say those things are nice but if you dont deal with the demons that got you to 400lbs the weight will come back count on it.

You are a great example of how successful weight loss should be, you took the time to change how you deal with stress which in turn helped you stop eating over it and dealing with it. You’re also a great example of everything I try to get across to people. That whatever method you decide to use to lose the weight has to be sustainable. Love your post, love what you’re saying and hope others can see the truth in your words…..it’s not a cure all, it’s a tool, and I not only used that tool successfully, I changed the way I think about food too. Congrats on all your success.
