I miss these type of videos on this channel. I actually went from working as a machinist to a automotive tech - thanks to Eric 4runner maintenance videos couple years ago lol
This video came at the perfect time for me! ‘05 Accord having some serious misfire issues and valve clearance check has never been done. I really appreciate this. Thanks!
@@ericthecarguycan I ask you a question about my car on here? Ok so Something is pulling power from the battery and I keep having to jump start the car every morning and when I turn on the AC of heater It feels like the car is losing power and it starts to make weird humming noises Its a 2008 Acura TL

Honda J series engines are masterpieces of percision engineering to rhe point where the components fail at the same time like my 2015 odyssey and accord both with fhe j35 and both needed timing belt done at the same time 86k miles cuz the belt tensioner started to fail on both of them.
just had valve adjust, spark plugs, timing belt, water pump, & port and polished lower intake runners done on my 04 TL. Had this video dropped 3 weeks ago I would have done the work myself......... 😮💨
Semi-related: I installed a 200 ohm rheostat on the positive lead to the engine coolant sensor on my 2005 Odyssey, and it runs so much better. The dial to the rheostat is mounted in an empty slot on my dash and can be dialed to 0 resistance.
I installed a 3-position rotary switch that allows me to select between 80, 100, and 120 ohm resistors in that circuit. I think I usually have to use the 100 ohm setting. In the summer, the ECO light would still come on with the 80 ohm resistor in the circuit. We bought our 2007 with 159K miles and VCM still active. The engine used a fair amount of oil and I disabled VCM at that time. Now at 254k miles, it uses way less oil and the back three cylinders are perfect. I am thoroughly convinced that disabling the VCM saved my engine.
I got a 2006. Thanks for this video! I have been thinking about doing this because she's been clattering a bit. I heard that's normal for these engines is that true?
Sister bought a 2009 Honda Pilot from a used car lot, Check engine light came on right when she got home. 5 cylinders missfiring, this has to be the reason right??? car drives fine.
I have. 84 gmc s15 2.8 carburated it has an electric inline fuel pump do these pumps run all the time while the ignition is on and driving because i think mine is turning on and off while driving cause the truck wants to die and drive a low speeds
The original video got demonetized because of the music I had in it. Despite the fact it was royalty free at the time I used it. I removed the music and reposted.
Another reason to write nasty letters to Engineers on why they need to redesign their cars to be more work friendly…because I know there is a Japanese engineer laughing every time I have to work on my car
GOAT era of ETCG

YEAH !!!! Awesome old days !!! 😍
Maybe he scheduled this to come out in 2014, but instead scheduled this video to come out in 2024?
No. I actually remember this video coming out years ago.
It said I already liked it. He clearly found an exploit.
In the first frame I felt nostalgic! Very good and inspiring time. I became an automotive mechanic because of these ETCG videos. Thx.
Makes my day to see this!

Keep them coming Eric.
No school like the old school!
Was super confused when I saw the baby face. Walked away with knowledge. Emotions are running high.
I hot dipped my ball gear and threw the modified drive shaft in the old bag to clean the pipes. Took half a gallon of lube but now we’re having twins.
Love the way he uses hand tools instead of impacts 👍
As it should be

Now that you have another shop do you regret giving a lot of your tools away?
Not one bit. I wouldn't have those tools without my fans, it seemed only fitting that they would benefit from them.
