I don't think some people realize but these carburetors don't even have an accelerator pump so you have to have the engine running drawing it through the carburetor with the vacuum of the engine. So cracking the throttle a couple times doesnt prime anything..
The needle and seat is how it gets in the bowl. Pumping the throttle on a carb without an accelerator pump is not doing a damn thing but open and closing the the inlet @joeb570
Go to a draw through setup carburetor with a smaller turbo and put a 4 inch by 4 inch tube to increse plenum volume before it goes into the head and the boost numbers with be more consistant. The way your carb is setup now (blowthrough) its pressurizing the bowl which makes it run like crap lean.. only way around it is a 1to1 boost reference fuel pressure regulator or just go to draw through.
1st pull, you could see & hear the boost hit lol. I bet if you put a smaller turbo on, you would get more boost. Makes me wanna turbo my scoot build 🤔🤣
I built a mini dragster. The frame is a small go kart sized top fuel dragster looking chassis about 2 feet shorter then a jr dragster. It has a 212 cc predator engine thats bored and stroked out to a 230 cc with a small ebay turbo. It runs the 1/8 mile in 7.5 seconds and that was the first time out and not turned up all the way either the second time out i got it down to 7.168 at 102 mph. is its fastest pass ever so far and that it turned all the way up and it's a beast. Ny goal is to get it down to mid 6s but doubt it and its got some torque to it throws you ibto the back of the seat hard when it launches. I have race asphalt and dirt oval full sozed racecars that make 500-800 hp in different classes but this little dragster i built is alpt of fun to drive and makes a great braket racing car i placed second in the first ever elimination bracket race ot ever entered on the 1/8 mile
Yea I have, saw 3psi under load with the valves floating. It’s definitely too big for a 212 but I had it laying around, I now have a vz21 that I want to throw on it when I’m back home from school.
I assume that is a single cylinder 4 stroke ? If so, it requires an air capacitor when a turbo is added. Basically, some type of pressure vessel 4 to 5 times the displacement of the engine in order to store the charged air (cause you only have one cylinder). This is placed on the turbo pressure side prior to anything else including an inter-cooler. source MIT turbo single cylinder small engine research 2014, analogy, think of trying to spray paint a car with an air compressor that has no tank on it. you would need a huge compressor, and you dont have that option when your power source for the compressor is a tiny engine, so you need the air tank.
you keep it very simple any body could do this AKA KISS KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID this is a old school slang at it very best one day i plan to do this to my Honda GX 340 FOR MY Manco go kart Thank you for sharing this
Need a fuel pump to push fuel under boost or switch your carb to the intake side of the compressor so it will suck in the fuel as you idle and accelerate. The idle fuel mixture might need to be adjusted for the right air to fuel mix though. You will get it straightened out. Just don't give up. You got this.

bruh yes it does how do you think gas gets into the float bowl?

I just bought a garrett gbc14-200 to put on a 5hp flathead briggs and stratton
add a pulley for a small power steering pump and used that to oil the turbo
Oh!! A Saab turbo!!👍

dude post videos of that
@@JL-7 ok I will. I never done a TH-cam video like that before and all o have is my phone's camera lol
So you ever had the turbo take flight on you?
Looks a little big for a predator 212

How did you get it to work with a carb, I thought it would over pressure the bowl
it does, but you tune the carb for that
How long till you re grease the turbo
Nice it Runs Great Regards J.
Torbo or no-go 👌

Redneck engineering at its best!
Thing looks like shit
I just started my build how did you get the turbo to work qith the carb i cant get mine to idle just right i think it just overpressureing the carb

Is the governor still in?
When you said barstool racer that’s not what my mind went to
Put the carb before the turbo
What is the pulse pump for? And the little blue line?
Pulse pump is for fuel, the blue line is a vacuum line that goes to the carburetor vent to pressurize it.
Any chance of a video to explain parts/install for pulse pump and turbo install on one of these predators?

Turbo prolly too big to do anything in that little engine.
Yea because if it did make boost that carb probably wouldn't work unless he modded the carb for blow through. I skipped alot and maybe I missed that.
I'm sure if you regulate the boots to yk something like .5 to 1 pound of boost it'll be alright
@@RicerS10 not enough exhaust flow to turn it would be the problem with a turbo that big on that single cylinder small bore and stroke d
