- This was a video taken on the 17th of September 2011, around 4 months before Apple passed away 8th of January 2012. He was sold to us when he was 10 weeks and we consider him as the lucky one because he climbed on my shoulder and pooped on my brand new shirt. We picked him out of the twenty in the pet shop.
It took him a year to say his name and later on I was given 4 injured lorikeets from my local vet to take care of and he developed a friendly relationship with them until they were fully recovered and I had to release them back into the wild. You taught them how to talk.
Nine years of memories that I will treasure forever.
We had a rainbow lorikeet called Larry for 7 years, from a baby. He would perform, used to love being flipped over on the clothes line. He would go nuts if you asked him if he wanted some ice cream. I miss that little character so terribly.
So sorry to hear of your beautiful Apple's passing. It is so hard to lose a beloved pet.
RIP birdie. You made a difference in this beautiful girl's life.
It sounded like the bird said I'll get a hang over when she asked if it wanted a beer lol
Subscribed Because Of My Lorikeet And Apple Is SOOOO FUNNY!!
I have 2 lorries! They scream all day! Mine is called Lola, and she is extremely talkative, but can't yet say hello. Lola is very funny!
Great video!
I too am sorry for your loss. My sister bought a rainbow some years ago, an adult. Man did that bird have a large vocabulary. I took care of him for 2 weeks when sis went to Darwin. I was amazed by how many words he spoke. Almost each day he spoke a new word, many of which my sister didn't know he could speak. My current Musk Lorikeet [that I saved after a car hit him on the street at the front of our home], also has a large vocabulary. He's very clever and does not just mimic words, but chooses his words carefully to express what he sees or wants etc. Thanks for sharing your clip, Connie Francis
Great
My lorry, Nikki talks like crazy! Your bird is lovely! I live in Toronto, Canada and am a grandma of two! Love my bird sooo much! Lories are wonderful, beautiful, affectionate pets.
Sorry for your loss. I lost my 12 1/2yr old Timneh, she had a tumor. Last Nov, almost a year ago. I raised her since 7wks of age. I just got a Rainbow who is 9wks old and I came across your video, I wanted to see the talking ability of the Rainbow. Losing a beloved bird is a heart breaking experience. I hope that you will some day again open your heart to another feathered friend. I look forward to finding an appropriate name for my new baby. Thanks for sharing your video.
cute and beautiful....and the lorikeet isnt bad either
Nice friendship with your cute bird,
Pretty loving little bird. I am so sorry that you lost him. I know how attached I am to my birds. I hope that you have a new companion bird by now.
Two beautiful Birds.
aww..so sorry to find out that your baby has passed!! How sad..
My lorry would put this on show any day of the week 🤣🤣
you can see the happines in his pupils :)
Funny and cute bird. :P
Any progress on the preening? How's your sweet little bird doing?
Aw, rest in birdie heaven sweet bird.

So Sorry Connie I love your Video, Makes me want to get a LoriKeet now LOL..
You should , They are a bit messy but really fun especially young ones :D I have on that is one years old , he is so playful and loud and hates to be lonely , I got him for $300 and they will need lots of attention
Omg I have a bird like that I bet they. Will get along with each other :)
awww! I have a red collared lorikeet named Ruby. She is only a baby. I can't wait until she talks like this :)
Please visit us :)
it did the test
Aww, RIP little Apple. Did he have Beak and Feather Disease? (PBFD). His yellow feathers on his back are typical of this disease.
me and ruster (rainbow lorikeet) been watching it and ruster been talking to it.
Aw, send me a photo :)
I tried to hold a wild bird I had caught once...it's feathers were the same colour as this...should have let it be free. It was far too beautiful to be caged. Eventually it flew away, and I'm happy it did. I imagine it's free and happy and doing all sorts of amazing shiz now. I miss it though...I hope it's having the best life.
Aw rip apple
Why did it die???? I read and heard these live for 20-40 years
Yeah they do, but tragedies happen. we had 2 rainbow lorikeets, one is my best buddy and is 9 years old, but the other one passed away when it was only 2 and we have no idea why.
just bought one today its a girl 5months old
Do you know how to preen? If not let me know and I'll tell you how to get rid of those pin feathers. Otherwise you have a gorgeous bird, makes me miss mine.
maybe you could do a video on how to preen a lorries feathers... that is if you have a bird?
0:31 LOOOOOOOL
I think he would like you preen him. Those pin feathers need to be sorted out.
Hey! Im really interested in buying a rainbow lorikeet... where can I buy one!!!??? Im from Mexico...
Diego Vázquez they are a native australian bird
lorie you have face?
I had one that understood come out and get back inside your cage. it once told me to shut up because he knew that was what I was going to say when he got noisy and I opened the door.
Go easy on the disco biscuits bro!
cute :)
not to be competitive, but, APPLE is cute, definitely and a personality.
but i would not call this the most talkative bird in australia
i also have a lorikeet
APPLE basically has 4 or 5 responses that he keeps repeating
my bird, literally, will not the shut the fuck up.
get this.
he mimicks everything.
i go to the toilet and the toilet door has a creak in it,
he mimicks the sound when the door opens and when it closes
2 different sounds
i then go to the laundry, turn on the washing machine.
when i press the buttons, he PERFECTLY mimicks the beeps
same for the dryer, which is a different beep
sometimes when im in a hurry, i go to dry my clothes
i press the button to start the dryer, but not hard enough
my lorri, see's me do this, and assumes the noise
he makes the noise of the dryer starting
and i assume that it started
i come home later on, my clothes are still wet.. no kidding
me and the wife talk
he mimicks it.
the mobile rings, he gets involved in conversation
it's funny as hell,
he has like 30 different things he can say
and he repeats them over and over
but, he never shuts up
well. sometimes he does. but it's rare
it's mostly chatter, with some quiet times as opposed to the opposite
the point being,
the title is misleading
even by comparison, my bird is more talkative than yours.
i would not consider my bird the MOST TALKATIVE in australia
that's a bit of stretch don't you think
Wow...you showed her. *eye roll*
freightdog208 i wasn't trying to show her.
i was just making a point that's all
it's not really that big of a deal
Martin Kuliza i have a lory and all he does is go up and down while on side of thr cage i dont know why, i just got him 1 week ago and he scared of me. He doesnt mimicking sound i wonder how to make him mimicking sound? My bf once heart him said "hello" tho
natdomo hi mate, that's cute, you got him only 1 week ago.
you need to understand something before i go on
since i posted last on this forum, (and i was talking about my lori Rocky
i have got another Lor (Milo) he's a cheeky little bastard hehe
hand raised, literally out of the egg
i got him 2 weeks outside of the egg
he thinks i'm his mum, which is fucking funny as hell LMFAO
anyway
with the going up and down thing
do you mean his head goes up and down, because that's normal
or does he scream and his head goes up and down because that's not always a bad thing
my milo screams when i'm about to feed him and rocky to let rocky know food is coming
also if i don't want to play with him for 5 mins because i'm busy he does it as a show of protest
so don't worry too much about it
if he is walking up and down the cage
don't worry, they are just little acrobats that's all normal
as for how to teach hiim sounds
well, just watch them and pay attention to when they pay attention
and make the sound at that time
they will pick up on everything, you'll see
Martin Kuliza thanks! I bought him from market and the shopkeeper didnt know how old is him ( and didnt know the sex either) so i think he is about 1 year.. btw he make his body (not his head) up and down while standing on side of cage (i was just afraid cus i never had a bird as pet b4)well i will just wait as you said :D
Can't even understand what's its saying tho? Looks like it's on speed
Connie, you're almost as pretty as Apples.
I got the same is named ema
All I could hear were lorikeet noises. He actually can't talk at all (or he gets bored talking politics). Maybe you should change it to the most talkative lorikeet owner in Australia.
That's not very nice. I think he's so cute. Clearly he was being loved and getting attention, just because he is not talking English doesn't mean he isn't 'talking.'
lol who is talkative the owner or the bird... totally a wrong title
That’s mean
Try between $150-$450
i think the bird is worth alot more than $40
You need to groom your brids head big time.
bahahaha ok mo beer..
i would love having one as a pet but they deserve to be free. pet birds is cruel
apple like julia gilard? yeh? no? ohh..
👅😂😂😂
He said Barack Obama to the camera a couple of times. He's showing off for the camera.
Mines better darl good bird but mine says going bed pretty says my name manymore
Doesn't even talk😂 my lorikeet talks more than this
my rainbow lorrie talks more than that sorry. He sure as hell cost more than $40. Try $450.
.. What? No, Lorikeets are Australian native birds. e.o
TBH my lorikeet can speak for than this one /:
or maybe y can teach him ur Chinese language
You dick
You dick
You dick
you should release it if you caught it... how you would you like it if i caught you are put you in a cage? this bird (in the video) is hand reared. It is very different. You will NEVER be able to even touch the one you caught properly... It is a wild bird. END OF STORY - release it
