I mostly use speed 1 on my drills, for found speed 2 or 3 use up power faster. I'm a DeWalt user my self. i used Milwaukee and others, and they seem fine and will not bad mouth them. There a few though I learned are not worth the time to use. Dewalt was my first Drill and it last me 7 great years as a contractor and it was just an old 12 volt I got used at the time for only $50.00. And used on hard for that 7 years. Built a lot of decks with it. Some as low as 2 ft of the ground to as high as 45 ft off the ground. and as small as 100 sq,ft. up to a little over 3,000 sq,ft. in floor size. That one drill was more then worth cost I paid for it on my first deck I used it on. The deck was just over 1,050 sq.ft. 4 ft. off the ground at on end and 24 ft. off the ground at the other end. The place was a lake home build on a steep hill side. It made deck building fun. And owner wanted those step seat hand rails all the way around it.
Personally, i used to use my impact for screws in wood(i was an electrician) and drill with a 3/4 or 7/8 bit(sharpness would vary but with a good bit, i did find it worked better in two(makes sense now). Id say an advantage my impact had was the quick-change 1/4 socket(is that the right name?) I also feel like it was lighter, but that may be dumb as it didnt have a 9ah flexvolt or a long drill bit on it. Nowadays, i'm a linesman, and i personally don't use my drill at all. I just use my impact with a 3/8 bit adapter for various sockets/hex bits/specialty bits. I havent seen any of your other videos, may do that tomorrow after getting a few hours of sleep...but would a drill be able to perform similar tasks where i need a high amount of pressure on various bolts and stuff? Thanks
You just tell it how it is rob yes you can use speed 1 with the clutch but depending on the torque it's going to take time and then some jobs time is the essence !

I use my DCD777 in speed one for some things because it’s not a torque monster like the two you’re showing. I still drive with my left hand, though, because it has just enough torque in speed one to hurt your wrist.
Just like a car, different gear do different job. Lower gear provide more torque for fastening, higher gear for more speed. Just use the rights tools for the right job.
@@ToolswithSoAlz Drill a hole into thick metal or concrete. When you do that, the settings become more distinct. The #1 setting is slower, but has more torque. The #2 setting rotates faster, but has less torque. It is not just speed.
I was installing something earlier today, and decided to only bring my drill with me and not bring my impact at all. Turns out, a drill is fine if you know how to use it.
It turns out that SoAlz knows a little something about tools. By the way, I have also been trying to be less dependent on my impact driver since I started watching his videos. 👍🏼
I don’t know why ppl don’t understand. The ones that don’t are usually workers that have to show up to work in boots and jeans and build some section 8 housing. And those builders are the worst and hardheaded. There’s no convincing those construction workers. They go to work and have to listen to someone. And the builders who build in shorts and nikes, could care less.
So then this begs the question someone please awsner it for me… I’ve been a electrician for 5 years tried many different brands of power tools. So what is your opinion on the best impact and drill on the market. Best overall quality power tool brand ? I’ve been a dewalt man since I started as a apprentice… but i think it’s gotten to the point with dewalt to where they simply have no clue what they are doing anymore.
Was a mechanic for some time and stuck with dewalt myself. Mostly because most of my fellow techs ran it so if for some reason I needed to borrow a battery I could. I still use that stuff around the house and it’s perfectly fine honestly.
Eeeeehm the point with the torque is flawed. Yes the higher the speed the lower the Torque. BUT it will only be "transfered" as much into your hand, as the "screw is transferring into the drill" Flawed example: Once you apply enough force upwards to lift an object (which is equal to the gravitational force of that object) you will lift it! If you swap yourself with a weaker person, that person will not have to provide less force as long as it's enough to lift the object. This die not stand true for ripping through that trigger and everything related to rotational inertia of the drill/the motor inside causing to rotate the housing in the opposite direction of the motor
Honestly that wasn't difficult to figure out. So makes me wonder who was complaining about that. My brother was using my hole saw to drill 6 inch holes, but he had my Milwaukee in speed one. He came to me and asked for the handle because the teeth were catching. I said I did, but he didnt need it. I went and set the drill to speed 2 and never had an issue drilling. He learned the lesson and never had an issue drilling out the rest of the holes. There's more to just using a tool. Knowing how it works and applying the right mechanics to the right circumstances is more important.
That new Milwaukee drill is so damn bad they break so easy. Dewalt took it all the way with that new drill beats the Milwaukee out the water and I have all Milwaukee
Sure looks like you're pushing down on that kinda takes the sails out of another video of yours..... tell me you don't know what your talking about huh.
