I work on aircraft, and that M12 with the different head attachments is a GOD SEND! I use it ever day and its perfect for delicate and tedious work. Not too much power to strip screws immediately nor too much to strip them either. Plus it holds my two main bits that I use all the time, phillips and nazi bit.
The level of organization is impeccable. If I were to configure this box I would delete a couple impacts and add a right angled die grinder, a grinder, and the 12 volt cut off tool. Also the rivet gun. Then it would be the ultimate mechanic style box.
You’re right. But for those of us that are already heavily invested in Milwaukee (have most of those tools already), it’s redundant to choose the Sonic. For my case I’d choose the Snap On.
That sir is a incredible Milwaukee collection. The Tool Grid system does a excellent job of organizing them. Great job sir. Opening that top drawer is damn impressive.
Also, although I love what you've done with that toolbox, I don't regret investing similar amounts to have packout boxes, because you're usually not working on anything other than automotive that you're right next to a stationary toolbox like that.
The OCD in me loves how clean this looks, the practicality and actual use side of me hates it because anyone that actually uses their tools for a verity of things, knows that one single brand isn’t the best in ALL tool categories. Just screw drivers alone, I have Wera, Klein, Stanley fat, Milwaukee, Lennox and others. Allens I use Beta, Wera, Park Tool, Dewalt, Husky. Same for all other categories. So to any real shop, ends up looking like, “all show and no go”
Crazy people complaining about getting FREE FIVE THOUSAND Tool Box when a 100% disabled veteran can’t even afford A toolbox, yet alone been spending the last 5 years just trying to buy all the tools I need again to start working on my car. I Love the Content. But man I see a lot of people complaining about all these free products they are giving when the average person or disabled veteran can never afford it. Please Be grateful that you already get Thousands of Dollars of stuff for FREE. 🙌🙌🙌
I don’t think there is ever a best tool. More so in what works for you after trying so many tools you figure out what works with your budget. I do believe in having the right tool for the job. With that being said. You’re right more tools means more possibilities of having the tool or tools you need for that job. No tool is indestructible. Even old tools need fixing and in some cases replacing.
The installation tool isn't an impact. It is a higher torque and speed screwdriver. It is perfect for what it was designed to do, which is for assembly and repair of furniture and cabinets etc. I also find myself using it for switch plates and installing or replacing outlets. I bought one a few weeks ago because I got a job refurbishing a kitchen in a house that is still being used. There is a lot of stuff inside all of the drawers, so it would be a pain to remove everything from the drawers just to remove the pulls. The 90 degree head is awesome for this purpose.
OFF the HOOK Dude, both boxes look SWEET !!! Two days ago I install a Cox EZ reel in my garage, and why I didn't do this a long time ago is beyond me. Wonderful garage SIR , keep it up !!!
This is a nice collection of Milwaukee but this set up is only practical for display purposes! Battery per tool makes me wanna throw by phone against the wall every time hahaha Kinda sad seeing this channel turned from true Enthusiast into Salesman pitch/advertising platform
Hey Matt, Awesome job on griding the Milwaukee. I am so happy to hear that the snap- on has great resale as if I get second choice which I would certainly not complain about I’m definitely selling the Snap-on and buying sonic.
Just shows what you can buy with “snap on money “ if you didn’t choose to pick snap on… ( far better ways to spend your money , then buying snap on stuff )
You are a tool-maniac like me 30 yrs ago. I overspent for a lot of tools which I actually didnt need.and I was a total tool-addict. Its like women with 1200 pairs of shoes in their walk in closet. Now I am a frugalist and I feel a lot happier
I have the sonic cabinets drawers and I'm really not happy how they don't suck themselves in when they're close to opening but my cheap ass craftsman does.
I don’t know who won it. But congrats to them! I would take that over snap on all day. I love the Icon stuff personally. It has the same warranty as tool trucks, difference is, you don’t have to wait a week or more for the truck to come around, you also don’t have to worry about if it maybe on the truck. Chances are there are two or three HF around you and one will have the tool to replace.
As an automotive tech for over 15 years, I can tell you that unless you are a professional tech, there is zero reason to have anything Snap-On. We constantly abuse, our tools with grease, dirt, heat, solvents and blunt force and that's why we pay the premium (and the truck comes to us every week). At the end of the day it's not the tools that make the tech but the skill using them. But I will say Sonic is definitely offering an appealing product at an amazing price point.
More interested in what looks like ohlins suspension in the background. That Milwaukee drawer is ridiculous, never thought you’d fit those in the space left. Tool grid is nice but that has to be $$$ for the amount you just added.
As someone who usually puts sockets/ratchets in the top draw, the location of the sockets/ratchets in the those two lower draws gives me anxiety LoL. The foam layout is nice though. I still like the snap on looks better. I do prefer snap on sockets and wrenches but i haven’t use many hazet. I do work for MB so I’m familiar with them
at 36 I'm looking to change jobs back to a trade, toured an aviation facility facility this weekend. Would love to be able to afford one of these sonic setups with the Milwaukee stuff. Basically exactly how I'd like to have it. However, i have my wife and 5 mouths to feed so I'll have to go cheap. If I get hired on I should do a day in the life series on our channel and see if someone will sponsor a box 😆
looks good!!! if i had to knock it I would say that I dont like the drill bits standing upright. Milwaukee makes awsome bit cases that could have easily been incorporated into your design. 9.5 out of 10👍👍
I just ordered black toolgrid with my order from you. Everything showed up except my toolgrid plates. It was in stock when I checked out but didn’t ship. Now I know it probably ended up in your Snapon box.
When will you give update with tools and stuff? My favourite torque wrench is from Stahlwille (while their mechanical ones are excellent and easy to adjust, the electronic ones are what drive me nuts, they have one even for bikes, (much much better than park tool). They click! How semi odd that!
You are giving all this stuff away? WOW man that is really really cool to do. Good luck to the ones who have a chance to enter and win! SONIC makes some good tools, they are out of my league to purchase but I know a lot of people use them. That tool box is good looking too. You need to have other options for people then Snap-On. So Sonic is a good choice.
I’m not saying you’ve changed my mind, but you have definitely made a case for the reasons why you feel the way you do about Snap-on, but it has taken hours of your contact to do so. If I win, I will certainly be taking the snap on box. The frustrations that you’re having with Snap-on are valid, but i can not relate as it has not been the case for me.
Going from shop to shop, you usually call a rollback tow truck to move it. No box weighing thousands pounds moves easily. but Snap On and others make powered boxes for race teams.
wow dude I hope you put the tools inside the toolbox! what a cool idea for a video! and sorry to hear Sonic sent you those toolboxes for free. You sounded so annoyed by that, ugh! Such a hassle
The amount of time saved by excessive organization/obsessing over minutia is generally just 10% of the time wasted by excessively organizing/obsessing over minutia.
Just curious, if you forget about the buying process and organization part of it, and just focus on the the set of tools themselves like the quality and how good they work, what brand of tools are you going with?
I’ll be summing that up in my overview video coming up. The cliff-notes version, like for like, I am choosing Sonic. However, of course there are better tools than Sonic. The Wera screwdrivers for example, and my goal is to have a set of curated tools all organized in foam from all of the best tool manufacturers. Not many - if any at all are coming from Snap-on.
Hey Matt, I would love a video on how to detail the SnapOn powder coat please!!! I have a 68 Epiq. It's got a bunch of fingernail scratches. Please enlighten me on how to properly take care of it. I don't wanna mess the powder coat up. Thanks keep up the videos I'm a new subscriber!!! Bobby
I love my snap-on box, but I would highly recommend literally just about anything else. You're buying the name. You definitely don't feel the quality difference. Personally plan on buying a US General box for home.
Clearly you pick the Sonic box. If you win the snap on, the move is to sell it to a snap on bro for a bit of a discount and go buy the Sonic build out! 😂

Wish Milwaukee would sponsor my employer with tools, somehow have enough tools for 15 guys work all the trades but somehow we get by. I know people going to hate but being a non profit it’s hard.
Guys at my work (mechanics) buy stuff from the snap on guy or cornwell guy and I laugh everytime I see them walk them by my desk with their tools, one guys just bought a used toolbox, kinda beat up for $1900, $40 a week 😂😂 there is no reason to buy them other then to show each other who’s dick is smaller, all my tools are from Home Depot or harbor freight (company provided) and if any of us break something the company replaces it, we’ve been through 3 snap on guys since I started there. But again I don’t understand why they buy them, it’s hilarious and seeing Matt say this stuff being a tool guy is awesome

I too am a Aircraft Mechanic. What's the model number for M12 your speaking about. I need to replace my Hitachi gear. Again thank you 😊
The level of organization is impeccable. If I were to configure this box I would delete a couple impacts and add a right angled die grinder, a grinder, and the 12 volt cut off tool. Also the rivet gun. Then it would be the ultimate mechanic style box.
I wanted the snap-on originally, but it would be crazy to not go for the Sonic with all the Milwaukee stuff too.
Same
100% sonic snap on yunk 😅
You’re right. But for those of us that are already heavily invested in Milwaukee (have most of those tools already), it’s redundant to choose the Sonic. For my case I’d choose the Snap On.
My thoughts exactly
Matt you outdid yourself on this one. This is definitely the box to choose
That sir is a incredible Milwaukee collection. The Tool Grid system does a excellent job of organizing them.

One battery per tool, you know, just in case you need to use every single one of them at the same time.

Nah…I’ll keep doing it my way.
I agree. This video could be much shorter and concise.
Smh I here for the tools also.....
@@ObsessedGaragekeep doing you bro, screw the haters. They can go watch another video

Hey Matt, Awesome job on griding the Milwaukee. I am so happy to hear that the snap- on has great resale as if I get second choice which I would certainly not complain about I’m definitely selling the Snap-on and buying sonic.
Me too 😂
The orange holders you have, are they toolgrid? Or a different brand? And how secure are they? Thanks
It's a new Tool Grid product. They're not officially available yet though.
Was looking forward to this! Can’t wait till you introduce all the new brands in the box!
Just shows what you can buy with “snap on money “ if you didn’t choose to pick snap on… ( far better ways to spend your money , then buying snap on stuff )

i wish snap on had slightly deeper drawers. I put tool grid in the top and it makes the 1/2" deep sockets barely to tall for the drawer.

Even with that abuse you don’t need snap on in a profession setting …again the phrase is “you don’t need” you can want it and that’s fine
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Very nice. I would also add the m12 die grinders to the ultimate automotive kit.
Ok but we’ve never actually seen this guy turn a wrench…..
You might want to search the channel. I probably have 700+ videos of me working on stuff.
This is a dream collection sir nice ! Thank you for showing us
I wish I had Matt's problem where free shit was just shipped to me for me to do whatever with..on a side note that Sonic setup is dope

22 Milwaukee power tools = $10,000? $454 a tool? I think you got cheated.

I mainly wonder for the snap-on box how the warranty situation would work, if it'll still be valid or not.
The warranty only extends to the original Customer and cannot be transferred or assigned.
The first person I have ever seen that likes the surge impact
looks good!!! if i had to knock it I would say that I dont like the drill bits standing upright. Milwaukee makes awsome bit cases that could have easily been incorporated into your design. 9.5 out of 10👍👍

That's exactly my feeling towards the brand. Everyone is only buying it for the name stamped on the tool.
so for $5800 all the tools come in these? Except the Milwaukee?
No. The Sonic box cost $5800 and all the tools without the Milwaukee cost an additional $15,000.
what makes these boxes cost so much? @@ObsessedGarage
The Sonic is significantly cheaper than the Snap-on, and 90% as good.
