I have Makita as my main tool company and am still very happy with the brand. I started working as a mechanic in a shop and the shop uses Milwaukee tools and I constantly have tools either braking or batteries that are less then 6 months old don’t take charge. But there warranty department is great it’s pretty easy to send the tool for repair which is free they even pay for shipping both ways and they either rebuild most of the tool or just replace it.
You guys got to stop with this. Every time there’s a toool comparison on TH-cam the comments get flooded with fanboys coming to the defense of their favorite brand. Then ya’ll come up with some BS story to try and convince everybody that the results are wrong. Nobody’s buying what you guys are selling. The only people that are gonna like these comments are people that are already in the Makita platform. Makita famboy’s are without a doubt the worst offenders when it comes to this. Followed by Milwaukee then DeWalt. You see this all the time. The Makita is a very nice drill but it has one flaw and for a lot of people I t’s a big one. It has a threshold and when It reaches that threshold it is programmed to just stop. I’ve had Milwaukee and Makita tools break.
@@steffendetrick Ok and what's your favourite brand fanboy..?
@@thebeastman1651 even if I had a preferred brand, I’m not coming on here making ridiculous claims to defend some corporate company that doesn’t give a shit about me. You are that’s what makes you a fan boy. And honestly Makita is one of my favorite brands, but so is Milwaukee. It all depends on the tool. I also like festool. But none of that’s relevant because I’m not the one leaving comments trying to convince people that the results are wrong with some BS story like the diehard Makita fanboy’s’s do every time.
@@steffendetrickmost of us are not fanboys...when you speak about fan boys , Milwaukee and Dewalt are the die hards. Most of us just get sick of uneducated people bashing makita just because it doesn't have " power " 🙄 that everyone is chasing their whole life 😅
@@steffendetrick To be fair it seem the biggest fanboys of any brand seem to be Americans, Milwaukee are very good, so are DeWalt and Makita, my main platform is Makita which here in Europe wins out over Milwaukee purely on cost. Milwaukee here are mentally expensive
Just bought the Milwaukee Fuel m18 hammer/drill today. I picked up this tool kinda blind and got the $299 kit with charger and extra battery. (replacing an old Craftsman 18v drill from 15+ years ago. Thanks for the excellent comparison between all these brands.
I’m looking to invest in a new system and this has been lots of help, thank you
So, you tested a Bosch Profactor 1330 drill without a Profactor battery. Not fair... and not cool.
Thank you for pointing this out, the Bosch has more to offer then? Im looking for a platform and im looking more and more towards bosch.
@@axelhollenberger5051I've noticed around a ten to fifteen percent increase when paired with the proper battery. I love my Bosch tools, they may not always have the power of red and yellow, but the build quality is unmatched. I call it Festool quality (which I own plenty of) at Makita prices. Now, the problem with Bosch is the lack of store purchase ability. Yes, Lowes has some, but none of their pro Biturbo line. I basically have to order all mine from Amazon. If you're looking for a brand that you can buy pretty much anywhere, then DeWalt is the best. Then again, they need to be sold everywhere, so that when they break you can get an overpriced replacement quickly. Ha-ha
he did the same with dewalt..used a flexvolt drill without a flexvolt battery lol...
Yeah the bosch is a whole different drill with the 8 ah
@@jayclark5233 yeah. Why would he do that? That's cheating to the bone. Next! Greetings from the Netherlands
Looks like a typical Milwaukee sponsored chanel
I would've said the same about Makita or DeWalt if they had won🧐
Looked like Flex was a tie or smoked Milwaukee in some instances 🤷 Not even a mention of who's in second or third? Also what about Hercules playing ball with the big boy's and a 79.00 price point and 5 year warranty, damnit man!
I'll be putting one on my service truck for a backup drill.
I had to stur up some things lol... I know the flex they used had turbo mode but not the good batterys.. just giving yal a hard time.. great vid keep it up love the channel!!
Thank you for sharing... The result tries to be objective, even some brand's lover doesn't agree, it's okay... Keep on sharing to increase ou knowledge 👌🏼😁
Would like to see festool included and also use the best battery from each platform to see full performance.
I'm in love with the flex line but the price is very expensive, where can I find it at a good price
Constantly drilling into concrete lentel above windows, when installing curtain rails. My arms are consequently disproportionate ..Which drill would you recommend?
I got Milwaukees m18 and m12 fuel line up and electrical tools and plumbing tools also!
We beat them up pretty good without any issues so far. some of my Milwaukee stuff has been in 3 feet of water by accident and still kicking! Can’t beat that or say the same about competitors tools in my experience
m12 stubby impact failed along with couple m18 8.0 batts ; took them to milwaukee center ; rep lady gave me new batts and got stubby repair. Good service .. 🎸🤘☕️
Is it just the video or is that flex drill extremely quiet compared to the m18 and DeWalt? How does it compare to the noted smooth makita?
Should have used a Profactor battery with the Bosch because they clearly state that’s what the tool was designed to use.
Well, I do my own testing, and I tested the Bosch drill, after jamming in a 6v Black & Decker battery from 2013. Strangely, the Bosch performed very poorly. I blame the tool itself...... 😉(Kidding of course)
Which one had the least amount of run out or wobble in the chuck.
Congrats to the m18. Though, every SINGLE m18 brushless/ brushed battery- powered tool I have has had to be sent off for warranty work to be done. All of them at one point or another. Granted, Milwaukee stands behind their warranties 100%.
This is what puts me off Milwaukee. Unreal power when fresh out the box, but after a few months all of mine seemed to break! And the batteries are awful. I’m now into Makita, not as powerful as Milwaukee but I’ve never had a problem and still performs the same a year later.
@riba2233 yes! As stated before, ALL of my m18 tools have been sent out for repair. I have just as many Makita tools and NOT ONE of them has had a problem whatsoever. 💯💪
Might just buy the Dewalt hammer drill
Ya missed one of the best
Metabo HPT is killing it
Im loving the Makitas, was with Hilti for years until i saw the light
Makita makes some great tools! Thanks for watching!
Did you see the light or did you want to save some money and have a bigger selection of tools? Lol i find makita to be neck and neck with hilti but being a bit cheaper with more tools available. Also home depot rents makitas for almost everything so if its good enough to be abused by the hd dumbasses its tough enough to handle a tradesman taking it on the job every day.
Wehren is the Metabo htp?
Believes, the best , by a view... everything 's, are so great ....
Great video, but I think its a personal choice. For me is millwaukee, or hilti, or don't know which, for another one will be makita or ryobi... Most of the time I have no need to work with36mm drill in speed 2 or 10mm drill same... So.. All this can do the jo in speed 1. I prefer ergonomic and feeling in my hand before speed and 158 or 135Nm... They are all Professional tools, so...
I use Hilti, its not just about who is the strongest, drills faster etc, they are reliable and if you break it they come pick it up etc... Also the same when you buy their tools, you buy it from them directly, they deliver it to you directly. Its very smooth. They also dont release new machines, batteries etc that often, and they still sell the old batteries etc. It just works like flawlessly... And the thing its been like this for a long time most (all?) other machines you had to go through a 3d party dealership or whats it called.
Great comparison and thanks for including the Hercules.
I liked this video. 2 things though. 1- on your charts (the first one) you have the Ridgid as 800 in pounds. It's 1250! You did state 1250 in your overview. 2- I believe the Ridgid should have had a 6 amp hour battery like the rest of them. It helps a ton compared to the 4 amp. I have the drill and have several 6 and 4 amp batteries. There is a difference.
Just suck it up it was a fair test he used 5ah batteries on DeWalt and Milwaukee and I know they both have more power with other batteries
@@danielherschberger6424 ok!?!
Lol
I to have the Ridgid..the newest one 1250 ..run the 8ah battery it'll run with those others..Warranty = priceless 😅

Great info. Still want to see reviews of cordless random orbital palm sanders.
We can try to work some of those in for sure! Thanks for watching!
@@Protoolreviews Great! Your reviews help me decide when making a purchase just like I did with my Makita combo drill set. I am upgrading my tools and am weary about the availability of replacement parts. I have to dump my elec sander bcoz of that.
@@Protoolreviews
If you will test sanders...test bosch gex 18-125 with 4ah 21700 battery
And on every orbital sander you will test use only 3M CUBITRON II
Mesh (310W) or Xtract (710W)
They beat crap out of any other sandpaper lasting up to 20x longer (in my personal tests (i sand hundred of hours testing every single sandpaper on the market and only cubitron II is worth it (there is also tungsten carbide option but its only for flat and only for wood / plastic) , belts last 10x more , cutting discs etc for angle grinder last 8-12x longer) while cutting/sanding 50-200% faster (in my case....it changes depending how hard you push it because they dont like to get pushed to hard
Grabbed the Flex kit with 2 batteries and charger for $100 a couple of months back 💪
Great choice! 👍🏻
Same 😅
The reason was there was a huge issue with flex batteries last year major recall
@@rdeh1678 not that I use it every day but so far so good. Killer deal.
Where can I buy the non hammer drill versions. I just need a regular drill
You should be able to purchase the drill driver version at the same retailer you purchase the hammer drill version.
All are good, i choose drill how well drillbit will stay intact and not come loose.
So what did you choose?
How much is that hilti?
It’s great that y’all included Hercules, and for the price it looks like it did pretty well considering! I have the Hercules BL impact and like it a lot, almost bought this hammer drill only because of the lack of an “anti-kickback” feature. I’m gonna go with the Milwaukee instead! Great review y’all!!
Thanks for watching!
@@Protoolreviews The Hercules battery you tested with is a standard output 5 Ah battery which uses 18650 batteries. Hercules also offers "Extreme Performance" batteries which pack 21700 cells and can deliver more performance. If you are going to re-test the M18 Fuel with the new Milwaukee battery it would only be fair to re-test all the tools with their max performance batteries as well.
chinese chit!
@Protoolreviews why didn't you use HO batteries that were made for the brushless tools on the Hercules?
@@inkandbarrel hey cowboy, you like your Chinese tool companies don't you😅
No metabo hpt?
Would you guys consider doing a 'runner up' spot in these competitions?
Why not test the Flex using their 6 amp hr Stacked battery? That would make a better test between it and the M18 with the new Forge battery.
They didn't have the forge for this video
Hey, I think you should do some re-testing. Several drills here are powered by inferior batteries compared to other ones
I've had both Dewalt 996 and Gen3 Milwaukee. And they would not hold up to drilling 1.5in spade and 2in-2.5in self feeding forstner bits in log railing all day, like my Makita 40v has. Although I did burnout my makita motor and had to warranty it out and got a brand new one in return.
18v vs 40v you muppet
Thanks for the insight! We're glad you were able to find the right drill for your job!
No battery tool survives doing what you do all day. I think you should consider something even bigger to take that beating. Your job seems like it needs a corded hilti or something like that. Heavy industrial tools.
You didn't use the Profactor battery which is needed for the Bosch. Flawed test.
Dear Pro Tool Reviews, you seem to have the resources to do a great video, but you're missing so much information. How about addressing the ergonomics of the tools? The noise/db level? The run time with included batteries? Rating controls and ease of use? Built in light performance? It's nice to know how quickly you can drill one hole, but how many can you drill before shutdown? Lastly, I think you should try a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finish or give category wins. Otherwise, if you're going to choose a single tool you need to give very detailed reasons why. Besides, an extra couple of minutes isn't going to make or break these videos. I have watched a number of your videos and I feel like you assemble great tools, but never fully deliver on the complete picture. Improve and I'll subscribe. Do great and I'll be a promoter.
That Makita had some great features and performance. Surprised it didn't win.
It should have won, the chuck is better than Milwaukee.
@@dondonaldson1684not only that bit it has way better ergonomics and a way better trigger
I'm sorry, the devices are not compared objectively. Although other devices have many features, it is not right to choose the milwaukee gen4. This device cannot be the best. The channel is obviously the Milwaukee channel, so I do not trust any channel, it only gives me an idea.
The XGT is so far ahead of the Milwaukee in quality and no one who tries both back to back can deny that.
@@bahadryldz2346 yep, XGT got 1st in MORE categories and they still gave it to m18. TTC tested them both for torque and watts and the XGT spanked it. Also, Makita has new batteries too, not just Milaaukee
What about metabo hpt/Hitachi
Strange, the Bosch took the Gen4 with its 8Ah against the M1812Ah in any other test .
You cant go wrong with any of those drills but that Hilti is huge lol. You could club seals with that thing
any woodworkers out there could tell me besides these drill torque power/features/battery strength etc which one is best with gear ratios precision. Like for instant I know dewalt has too much power on the lowest setting when i want to just screw a small screw and just goes over leaving almost a quarter of a inch hole behind when i just want to have a flush finish. I know I can go easy on the trigger or pre boar it but I want to repeatedly doing it without being too careful and consistently get same result and no needing to do extra work and attention just to achieve it. Especially on small projects that I want to finish fast and efficiently without leaving marks that are ugly as if I did with an axe as a hammer for a screw part.
WERE IS Metabo hpt with the most Powerfull Drill on the Market?
How much is the M18 FUEL™ ½” Hammer Drill/Driver w/ ONE-KEY™????
Brushless motor engine 's.. powerful than ever ! All the best ...
I waiting this compare
Considering base price BOSCH seems to be a sweet spot for me.
Where's Fein, Trumpf and Festool? I've owned many brands, still love em, but nothing has beaten Fein or Trumpf so far (they can be thrown off a building, picked up and continue working)
hey, there is a skil drill on the video, why it is missing in the test?
They didn't pay the reviewer like Milwaukee did. This video "review" is obviously just a thinly veiled commercial for Milwaukee. They didn't even test competing brands with their correct batteries.
I have both the makita and the milwaulkee and hands down makita is better. I like both companies the same i have a lot of tools from both. This channel os obviously selling for milwaulkee and thats fine it is still a great drill but if you have the choice go makita. Few side notes is milwaulkee i have had to have it replaced in less than a year and it gets used less than my makita. And this is kinda picky but the button to put it in reverse or forward is a pain in the ass. It jist is in a position when you go to switch it one had it gets stuck in the middle and you have to slow down to focus on it to push it to reverse or forward. Dumb to be that picky i know but all the guys on my crew say the same thing and are always reaching for the makitas first
One tools , two set of powertools , three different brands of tools ... smart's buyer's.all the best ...
that’s a hilti metal working drill, you should have compared the sf6 as that’s the drill that would compare to these other brands
Agreed, They use a drill model that’s not a hammer drill 🙄
I agree with several of the other comments with regards to the batteries used on some of the drills during testing. The bosch is designed to work with the larger batteries 5.5ah and above to deliver full power. The same with the dewalt, its a flexvolt advantage drill thats designed to work with the flexvolt batteries. Using these higher output batteries is when the tools deliver the full power there designed for. Maybe the same with the other brands but not sure. Disappointing to see some tools came in without the batteries there designed for!
Higher amp batteries do not help any tool deliver more power. Higher amp batteries simply supply longer run times between charges.
That is only partially correct. If you read the details on their websites and from personal use, the newer larger batteries deliver more power the tool can use. Hence why dewalt tools called 'flexvolt advantage' the tools have a power advantage while using flexvolt batteries. Also bosch biturbo tools get more power from Pro core batteries with capacities above 5.5Ah.
@@robertturner5213 newer larger batteries typically are higher voltage. Higher voltage delivers more potential power. Higher amps deliver longer run time.
@@11211lcbit's not the voltage with the Bosch, it's the number of cells. The voltage remains the same, but the output doubles because of the double rows of cells in the 5.5Ah and above batteries providing double the amperage. Power = voltage * amperage.
Also, don't confuse amps (amperage = current) with amp-hours (=capacity). One is tank size, the other is displacement (in an imperfect analogy with voltage being revs).

No extreme performance battery used on Hercules
We used the battery that came kitted with our Hercules hammer drill for this test. If we get our hand on some of the extreme performance batteries we'd definitely be willing to run them for future tests, thanks for watching!
Settle down guys, Milwaukee didn’t use a HO or forge battery either.
Missing Metabo HPT
Skil is on the table but not reviewed??
These tools are great if you're using them in a professional setting, all day everyday. What about regular drills that people can use around the house? build a deck, hang some photo frames, assemble furniture etc. Can you review those.
If youre going to build a deck or some project of the sort, u might as well get the Milwaukee shown here due to its size and power. Dewalt is powerful but bigger and flex is heavy but Milwaukee is pro and feels better. HERCULES BRUSHLESS would be my next go to bc of its price.
Imho for these light, occassional tasks, you can just get any drill you want. Maybe keep an eye on what other tools would be interesting to you and see if the manufacturer also offers these on their battery platform.
Some consumer brands we trust, that aren't so hard on your wallet;
Ryobi
Craftsman
Hercules
Hart
Masterforce (Depending on your location)
Hope this helps!
Despite what the chart says, they just pick what they like 😂
True Why choose Milwaukee when there are so many brands?
@@bahadryldz2346 those tests are fine, but people will buy a brand they are invested in anyway.

@wnessnol agreed to I have makita xgt a yellow and red hammer drill too and makita is my personal favorite no just by the power is because is “smooth” tool
Festool?
It looks like an advertisement for Milwaukee 😬 there are better batteries for certain tools to get the best performance.
If it’s not all the it’s not a fair test
MILWAUKEE all the way thats the brand i use
Its still Bosch, Hilti, Makita. Anything else is either too expensive for the performance or lacks the not durable enough for the price tag. If im going to pay top dollar for tools they better hold up. Ive gotten excellent performance out of my makita lxt 18 volts. If i didn't have makita platform id go Bosch Dewalt or Hilti and mix and match a couple specialist tools. Makita has just about everything already so i feel like any tool i need is out there.
Makita is vastly, vastly underrated as a tool company in America.

@@travisjazzbo3490 i drive an old 06 tundra. Lol but yeah i want to like Milwaukee but id go rigid or ryobi since its the same internals but a cheaper price tag. I use some ryobi stuff with an adapter for makita batteries. They run better on those than the ryobi batteries.
@@garrydhintz8017 That's an interesting story about Ryobi stuff. Why is Milwaukee chosen when there are good models from many brands?
They explained this in detail...did you not watch the video?
Although its other competitors have superior features such as makita, bosch, metabo.hilti, flex, I do not think it is right that milwaukee gen4 wins. And the tools cannot reach full performance due to low batteries, so the test is faulty and it would be wrong to choose milwaukee gen4.

Of course you would pick the newest Milwaukee!! What about the turbo function on the good flex drill and the stacked lithium battery!!? With the turbo function you essentially have a 4 speed drill with the flex and all these times would be completely diff. Years ago I bought a Makita cordless drill so that I can be in line with everybody else going cordless after about 6 years the batteries were no longer charge The batteries were no longer available only aftermarket batteries aftermarket batteries were crap they wouldn't hold charge either so there was stuck with a cordless drill and no way to power it I got rid of it at a garage sale for about 15 bucks from then on all my power tools are corded It's just too expensive to have to replace a cordless drill or any cordless product every few years because the battery is no longer hold a charge and batteries become unavailable It's a scam.
Hilti SF6H would be better than the Milwaukee. That would be more apples to apples in the lineup
Please use ft-lbs.
Better off just buying the Milwaukee ads hammer drill.
Using their own charts the Milwaukee doesn't come out on top. I own several of the brands including Milwaukee,Rigid,Dewlt and Bosch, but using their chart i wouldn't get the Milwaukee based on their chart if im using it as my guide, and im not sure how they did either unless there was other criteria being included.
