    For anyone else wondering why their new SSD drive isn’t showing up. You need to format it with Disk Management in Windows (10 or 11 same program). Right click on the unallocated drive and create new simple volume, then name your drive etc. 👍

      @@Tech-This-OutI've taken this computer apart once already for an sad upgrade and when I reconnected the battery there was a small spark of electricity between the battery connector and where it sits in. How do I prevent this because I have to take it apart again for a ram upgrade so I was wondering if I disconnected the battery how do I drain the rest of the power? Do I press power button after disconnected

    Very nice video. I'm sure you helped many people!
    You made it in a calm and easy to follow way and I hope more people can make it this way,.
    Without rushing things and explaining all the items. Very very good.
    Although I didn't need that guide, I watched it in full because of the way it was made.
    Can i suggest something? (i'm not critical just want to help).
    Ram is in GB so gigabytes not Gb which is gigabit. Small thing but would improve info slightly.
    Other thing is, this laptop is made in the way that one corner screw is longer and is locked to the casing (at least it should according to info and to what i have in my unit) so it lifts the lid and helps to open it. It is possible that not all versions have it implemented so I may be wrong with your example.
    Last thing...try to get some mouse pad or pc maintenance mat so you can rest laptop on it.
    That way you can avoid scratching laptop while moving it on the table. Believe me, it makes big difference.
    Keep up the good work. All the best

      First of all, congratulations on a fantastic laptop and since the G15 advantage edition laptop allows you to add 64gb of Ram is great so use the max. Some rams are better than some but I won’t go into technical details. I would say Kingston makes great rams for overall performance like their Fury rams but it’s extremely difficult to find a dual rank Kingston ram. I’ve used the Corsair Vengeance ram and it was also great with great speed, increased fps and good for gaming. IMO, I would go for the Corsair Vengeance. You won’t be disappointed.

My dad told me that probably the screw's carving is ruined, because I can actually spin it, but it only spins and is not unscrewed :( Can I do anything with that myself? Or the only way is to hang it to the service ;/ I've already bought new RAM and I'm so sad right now... cuz it's the first time I opened my laptop, the screws are stock :(

    • @Tech-This-Out
      @Tech-This-Out  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with unscrewing your laptop. Here’s what I find online. Hope it helps:
      The likely reason that the screw is turning without withdrawing is that some of the threads on the screw or in the mating part of the laptop have been stripped. Thus was likely caused by ovetightening of the screw.
      The way to remove the screw is to simultaneously pry the screw out while turning it. This will allow undamaged portions of the threads to engage with each other.
      A good way to do this it to take pieces of brass shim stock and cut small V-shaped notches in them. The notches allow the shim stock to fit around and under the screw you are attempting to remove. Wedge one or more of the pieces of shim stock between the screw head and the case while turning the screw counter-clockwise.
      Alternatively, if the other screws have already been removed from the case, it is often possible to insert plastic wedges (say a credit card) between the two mating parts of the case and in that way apply upward pressure on the one recalcitrant screw allowing the threads to engage while you unscrew it.
      Make sure you are using the proper type of screwdriver. On a laptop this is often a Star or Torx head screw and requires a Star or Torx screwdriver. Do not mistake this for a standard Phillips screwdriver

    • @Tech-This-Out
      @Tech-This-Out  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all boils down to personal preference. I’ve noticed my laptop ran a little faster and better when I maxed out the ram to 64gb (32x2) compared to using 32 (16x2). 32 gb of ram is the sweet spot even if you play a lot of AAA games and average work loads. You only would need 64 if your doing more graphically intense work like 3d, engineering etc. I maxed it out to 64 because the system allows me to and it’s just my preference. The key thing you want to know when getting a ram for the laptop is how low the cas is because the lower the cas, the faster the performance of the ram.

      The ssd slot inside the g15 advantage edition is a GEN3 SSD slot. Yes you can use the Samsung 980 pro and it’s a Gen4 ssd but your gonna get GEN3 speeds between 2000 and 3000MB W&R speeds. Trust me. I tried with a Kingston KC 3000 which is the fastest Gen4 on the market and the pc only allow the ssd card to operate at around 2000/3000MBs again because of the GEN3 SSD slots that’s inside the laptop. I’m currently running two Samsung 970 Evo Plus’s inside the G15 advantage edition laptop. 1 has 1TB and the 2 has 2TB running at 3200-3300 write and 3300-3500 read.

      You can but it won’t do you any good because the mother board is design and modified to function with the speed of the ddr4 ram. Damn this looks a bit too hard for me. My laptop only have 8gb ram and can play some AAA games (fallout 4, GTA 5, the witcher 3, no man sky) at low settings for 20-30 fps. I'm kinda satisfied with it but I'm pretty sure it's couldn't run very demanding games like rdr 2 and Elden ring. Hi Jordan Sherwood. Sorry for the late reply. The laptop itself is a fantastic laptop but it comes with 16gb of ram which is good enough for some streaming and light gaming. It will definitely get the job done but it’s not good enough if you want to play AAA games, editing etc. So, the ram that it comes with is good enough for average every day use and some gaming but if you’re gonna do hardcore things with this laptop, I would suggest the increase the rams to at least 32gb but you don’t have to if you don’t want to. One thing I would like to point out about this laptop is the Wi-Fi card. It comes with a Mediatek Wi-Fi card that’s not good and many owners of this laptop complain about it with its weak and inconsistent connections and range. Again, the ram is decent enough and you don’t have to change it if you don’t want to but I would definitely change out the Wi-Fi card. They are very affordable and I have a video on how to exchange your Wi-Fi card out. It’s very easy.
