I've had this unit since mid 2022 I wanna say and I love it. The ONLY gripe I have with it is I got the 16gb RAM and 1tb SSD model, so adding more of both will be a big step up for me.
One of the top/best videos, now I got a machine with 64gb ram and 2tb ssd. Although I think it has issues with win 11 home, ssd overheating (Samsung pm9a1 2tb) and firmware issue (no upgrade via Samsung magician), otherwise no complaints.
Wow, top of the line upgrades! Yeah, it's tough when they offer the fastest speeds, it also means a lot more heat. Twiddling thumbs... what to do... :-)
@@FirstL00k Lenovo legion 5 has a huge metal plate covering its ssd, adding thermal pads, you can create a heat-bridge and thus better heat dispersing and cooling via air. The WD SSD I got there is on pár with that Samsung drive from asus, and with IOPS only it's slightly below 960 Pro. Max. Temp I had was up to 60C, usually I'm around 40-45C
I have the G533ZX here with 32gb 4800mhz ram, upgraded to 64gb 5600mhz ram, but literally nothing in bios, even advanced settings to let me change frequency or run XMP settings ??
Motherboards can only support a certain amount of ram and a certain amount of mhz I think also make sure u got the right ddr4 or 5 that fits ur motherboard
I was looking for this kind of video, thank you so much! You are awesome. I have a question and sorry if this sounds stupid, but should I put a heatsink or something on the new ssd? Does it make a difference or is it not worth it?
My advice? When I want to buy SSD or RAM at a great price, I keep an eye on reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/ - look through some past posts to get a feel for prices and user feedback (there's usually a breakdown on the quality, like high/middle/low end and if it's worth it or not to buy.) Good luck!
Yes will support 64gb if it's the same model as video is showing 2022 Variant 2 X 32gb If it's the 2021 Variant of the laptop reply to me the model of it such as if it is the "ln148w" 2022 then yes will work
I'm looking to upgrade the exact same model you have , and I'm going with Crucial P5 Plus ( up to 6600mb\s ) and for the memory I'm going with Crucial 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR5-4800 SODIMM my question here , are those components compatible with my machine ? and for the ram there are options for higher ram speed but i know this model supports up to 4800mhz so what should I pick ? so do you think this upgrades are "best" options for my laptop in the market ?
If you have the 2022 model it can support up to 5600mt/s 64gb and the nvme you have chosen is gen 4 which will work fine and if you're in the UK ATM the WD 850x has the best price for its performance ATM and lifetime it's read is 7300mbs 😅
I have G733ZW, and I want to replace or add another 2TB SSD, the standard one is 1TB Micron Sigle sided memory, but the new modern one, is double sided, Kingstone KC3000. The manufacturer does not specify whether or not there is enough space for it ?🤔
You not showing one big thing: you can't install windows on fresh SSD. So you have to download to USB the driver for your SSD and load it during installation to recognize the SSD.
Hey I have a 2023 G614JI Scar 16. I would love to know if there is a way I can tell if I am able to add an ssd to this. I did the cmd prompt already to find out I can upgrade the ram but I really don't want to remove the back just to find out if there is an extra storage slot there.
I have never had an issue or wore gloves Their are bands that people seem to use or you can use them gloves. Once you have disconnected the battery or power if a pc press the power button so the components can discharge I.e. the capacitors 😊

Same, just put a crucial 32gb kit in mine and trying to find a good 2 to 4 tb secondary m.2
Thank u dude! Video saved me around 20$!

Great video and steps shown in great detail. Subscribed!
You can use the Windows Key + E shortcut to open the file explorer instead of searching the app.
thank you o much for making this video
you're welcome! Glad it was helpful!

I don't think a heatsink would even fit because of lack of space.
Very helpful video, and what is the maximum supported SSD?
BEAUTIFUL demonstration! what do you recommend, your personal "Opinion" on getting the ram and SSD? what brands?

If you're still considering the WD 850x seems like the best value for performance 😊
I have a g533QS model and iam wondering wich RAM model to buy, DDR4 or DDR5. Thumbs up for the video and the explanation for all about it.
Hi if you give me the full model number I can check for you😊
@FirstL00k with what kind of screw driver did you nanage to close up the SSD thanks
Hi there, great video! Was wondering what exact model of the strix you have? Mine is the G533ZW_G533ZW, am i able to upgrade it to 64gb ram?

Can you provide the link of the screws you've used in this video? Please. I don't have.

The laptop already comes with a DDR5 4800kit
