Finally someone who understands listening pleasure as well as hifi and rates speakers properly instead “wow it’s loud”. And you have a sense of humour and personality which is missing in many of the tech reviews. I recently got a bargain boom plus second hand but perfect. I was happy to wait rather than pay full price. I ignored the app only to check it had been updated to latest firmware and went straight to the eq settings on my media player on my phone and started adjusting to my ears and taste. I boosted the low end bass and brought up the mid frequencies instinctively which seems to equal out the curve which you’ve described here. Sound very good to my ears. If I want louder, I’ll use my proper amp and speakers, this is great for the outdoors, travelling and in my workshop.
You better check you dont have sticking passive radiators. While marketed as an outdoor speaker they use cheap passives that expand in sunlight and jam. You can test by using a hairdryer to apply heat to one of the passives. When they first brought out the speaker sticking passives would be replaced, now they advise dont use in direct sunlight. I call this shady practice.
When I clicked on your vid and saw that Soundcore have just released this I instantly ordered it even before finishing the vid. I have two motion booms thanks to you, so I'm a dedicated Soundcore fan and love their stuff. Once that app kicks in the boom plus will be a serious bit of kit i'm sure. Thanks Alan!
@@alanrossreviews good cos the default eq on both I preferred the OG Boom by a long shot. Warmer, more alive. Bass is still decent enough on my Boom. Hope that eq makes a difference because it needs it! Disclaimer: I've never needed the Motion Boom at max volume so it hits where it needs to for the environments I use it in usually!
I have two Motion Boom Plus in TWS stereo, and I assure you they sound much smoother when using a 3.5 mm cable than connected via bluetooth. Interestingly, I only need to plug in one stereo cable to the main speaker in TWS mode, and both speakers still play in stereo (you don't need a breakout cable). I also prefer to position them in the vertical rather than horizontal orientation as it theoretically provides better stereo imaging.

The original soundcore was a much smaller speaker and my mate bought it and he said the original firmwate was crap on the smaller version. This is why i was querying whether or not you tested the bigger plus version on its original firmware.

I'm a motion boom owner. I bought the boom plus on launch day, I LOVE IT! Well worth the extra dollars (I did get the early bird discount), would recommend it to anyone that wants extra boom and extra clarity in the top end; the clearer top end is quite noticeable, in side by side comparison. The motion boom now lives in my bedroom and I have the boom plus downstairs, saves me carrying it everywhere with me (which I really was doing) lol! The default tuning is horrid, using the custom EQ I have 80 and 150 Hz +2dB, 9KHz -1dB, and 13KHz +1dB (I have old ears) and it sounds lovely to me. :D
When I had to decide between motion+ and motion boom I went for the +, because of the higher clarity. Now I’m hoping to get best of both worlds … motion boom with tweeters, so Im exited for the Eq’ed tests :)
Soundcore really went down the wrong path. The Motion Plus was about as "Hifi" as you'd want from a cheap BT speaker, but instead they just decided to slap on as much bass as possible and appeal more toward the JBL crowd. This probably made them more money, but its definitely unfortunate for those of us that wanted the more analytical sound.
@@alexandrei1977 Who cares, it's 28 watts. At that point I would just get a motion plus. They need to make a high quality 50 watt+ speaker, thats where the market is at now. Because 28 watts will sound terrible at max volume.
I'm not sure which i like more, the bass on the plus is very big and punchy but thhe normal Boom sounds really nice with it's clear highs and mids. I'd love to see a proper test with EQ once it's possible!

Yeah, my only real complaint about the motion boom is the lack of a 3.5 mm. Jack. It's super convenient. Sometimes to just stick your TV or your phone or a tablet onto a loud speaker without worrying about connecting Bluetooth.

14:18 even with the tweeters, listening on external speakers, the sparkle isn’t there like the motion boom. Definitely noticeable increase in bass. Perhaps it is muddled and lost coming through the microphone and then my speakers.
Judging the sound on motion plus, seems that the tweeters didn't work properly, are these fake?😀 I just fitted 2 tweeters on motion boom and it sound amazing compared to stock where high frequencies are disappearing when on high volume (excessive vibration/movement of diaphragm and these cannot be reproduced)

I was the owner of the Boost, and today I have a Life Q30, two Motion Plus in TWS and two Motion Boom also in a glorious and spacious :P TWS that for me are (almost?) perfect: soundstage, volume, bass, treble, perfect connection ...so now this Motion Boom Plus is in my sights. Got a message from Anke today: "We have received the improved product. As promised, we can send you the replacements." I'm supposed to be returning my two Boom Plus's and I'll get replacements.
I just mentioned in another vid an hour back that I felt something was missing from 300hz to 800h whenI listened to the sound demo on M1M Tech Channel. I was wrong, its missing the whole big piece from 300 - 2khz... lol! I also mentioned that this wasnt made to go at the boombox, rather an upgrade to the smaller motion boom. People hoping that this would come near to the deep bass of the BB2 can stop hoping now, you can bump that 80hz slider off the screen on your phone and it still wont get close. And seeing that it has a big dip from 300hz to 2khz, the eq wont totally fix that either. Still, its not a bad speaker at all but at 180 pounds, its a little too pricey for what it is. Now roll out the Tribit Stormbox Blast review because I have very high hopes for it objectively. At least that has a +/-6db 50hz slider... :)
@@alanrossreviews they most probably did that to make it sound deeper than it is but went too far. I mean 300hz to 2khz IS the whole midrange. So it cant match the BB2 as a boombox and it cant be a proper hifi sounding speaker. What is it then? A bigger and more powerful version of the Motion Boom, thats all it is. Cant say that is a bad thing but it was a letdown after all the hype, especially after looking at the objective data you provided.
Thanks for adding AUX latency to your standard specs! This info isn't available almost anywhere and is critical for those of us who want portable speakers to play with instruments. It would be great to see a comparison video of many speakers AUX delay!
Appreciate the rapid release of the video. I'm definitely waiting for the eq. Hoping that it's going to come before the 14 days ends lol 😜. That dip is definitely interesting. I was somehow hoping Anker would do some magic with the deep bass, but hey, can't ask for too much. It's also a little smaller than I was expecting. eq hit today and it fixes for me most of the issues. weirdly looking at their graph for the signature eq they actually show the deliberate dip in the mids as i talked of in this video. so they actually thought that was a good idea lol

Thoughts on buying the Boom Plus vs. two Motion+s? Ideally I'd have all three, but I want something to sort of 'do it all' for the foreseeable future: outside entertaining, workout music, occasional movie/show amplification, etc.
I was hoping for an EQ comparison tbh. Its a big advantage Soundcore products have vs competing brands. I cant say much on this forefront since I only have the Motion+ but I get deeper bass from the speaker when using it with an EQ. Even a few dB deeper on the Boom+ would be epic. You are legit the best audio reviewer. Have you seen or heard the Sony XG500 in person? It seems like the mids and highs are nonexistent. I really want one, but all the sound tests I hear make me change my mind everytime. I just seen TriBit’s StormBox Blast and it looks like JBL finally has a contender for the bass on the Boombox style speaker.
After messing around with my boom plus that came in yesterday... I am REALLY interested in what you come up with for a custom EQ. There seems to be something that really fatigues my ears around 5 Khz or so. I would get it to where I thought I was happy with the EQ and then when I came back, I didn't like it. Did that about 3 times lol. It's almost like they used a piezo tweeter instead of the advertised silk dome. Buy, it sure goes to hell at around 90% volume and there is zero headroom for the EQ at max. It seems like they were really chasing that loudness number. I will say though that when I did an A/B with the OG motion boom, I do like the plus a lot better. I just gotta get an EQ setting that I like more. I am thinking of using the AUX input to run REW on this thing using a laptop. Also, I will say this: This speaker is now my pound for pound favorite. But, I mean pound as in the empirical unit of measure, not UK monetary unit. This sucker is only 2 Lbs heavier than my motion boom! We are heading to Mexico for a week soon and you better believe this is the speaker I am going to pack. When I had both out in the back yard the Boom Plus completely blew away the boom.
ah! but you havent two booms against it yet 🥳 you can check my eq so far on my IG. yes they have a nasty 6khz peak on this they actually thought was a good idea on the first firmware update. idiots. no 6hz slider so you are left having to mess with the 5and 9khz sliders.

Thanks for replying, I thought I was losing my mind with that 6khz bit. I only dabble in audio production so I wasn't sure of myself. And YES, that's what I kept doing was playing with 5k and 9k! I could never get it quite right. And sure enough, the first thing I did was update the firmware. I just bought poweramp EQ on my android phone and I really think I am going to use REW and my calibrated microphone and sit there and manually input correction REW settings into the app hahah. I have never made a youtube video but I may actually make one on that if it works out for me. Chasing down that harsh frequency was bugging me all night.
@@alanrossreviews So, I gave it a first try this morning and the results are VERY encouraging. I don't have a studio or anything so I placed the speaker on my bed in the middle of the room and put the calibrated microphone about 4 feet away. I only took 3 measurements, center then maybe 25 degrees off axis each side. I usually only listen at about 40% volume max so I measured at that. I set a custom EQ with everything flat because even the "balanced" preset is a little wonky. I am now REW expert either, I thought I told it to be somewhat aggressive with a 12db max adjustment but the dip at 117hz ate that right up! The next largest filter was 8db reduction at 192 Hz. Now if only the Soundcore DSP would allow for Parametric EQ values... Still, I pretty much only play these with my phone so it works out well enough. I have no clue how they come up with that terrible "signature" EQ curve, maybe rolling dice? Well, anyhow... For just a first run, I have to say I am quite happy. It's a little subtle but it got rid of a lot of the harsh stuff which if very evident in some music like She's Gone by Hall and Oats when the chorus kicks in. How do you go about picking your music tracks for your videos without getting copyright strikes??? I also have to figure out how to properly record this thing if I make a video.
the reason it's 10w per tweeter and 30 per bass mid driver is because it's an active not passive crossover, it's split in the amp, probably in the DSP this is a good thing eliminating phase problems, got mine today and app is up and running.
@@alanrossreviews Not 100% however, i did work in the industry and this was always the case with a variable output crossover it allows them to play mode accurately with the response without adding further passive components , to limit power as well as crossover frequency would require at least a second or third order crossover instead of a single capacitor which would add way too much cost to a component such as this. Hello Alan Ross! I am a big fan of yours since I bought 4 Motion Boom speakers because of your recommendations! I wanted loudspeakers that had a lot of power, because I wanted to party outside (I hesitated between the minirig, the JBL party box 310, and the Mtion Boom). The Minirigs were very expensive for me, and the JBL weighed too much (I maybe had to run from the police XD). I bought the Motion Boom and I loved them!! For their price they were the best without a doubt. So I did some more research, I wanted to buy another 2, but the TWS only accepts 2 speakers... the solution? Buy a phone that can connect 2 bluetooth speakers at the same time (Samsung s8), this way, I can have 4 motion booms playing at the same time!!! It's amazing how many parties you can create, considering how incredibly portable they are. For me, the most important is the loudness - portability, I have all the eq settings of my 4 motion booms in the maximum, clarity is lost (and battery), but a LOT of power is gained! So after all this text (sorry), my question is: - Do you think it deserves to buy 4 motion boom plus? Will it sound much louder? How many can be connected at the same time? the comparison should be with the eq settings of the Motion Boom and Motion Boom Plus at maximum. Thanks!!! I hope the comment helps more people!
they sound different, i prefer the warmth of the boom but for sheer clout the plus will stomp all over it, louder with more bass but more of a harshness in the highs.
The eq on soundcore speakers are Insane theres gonna be alot of headroom if it works exactly like the others soundcore is the best in terms of there apps eq

Got mine today and mid volume its pretty good but the bass really falls off at the top volume end. Ngl slightly disappointed. However, this has sort of made a decision for me where I need to look at an alternative big sound party system.
I apologize for the question as you must have already had the answer in the video but I'm from Brazil and I don't speak English, I wanted to know if it is superior or at least competes with the boombox 2, if it is as tall as the boombox and really delivers the 80w, if the motion boom plus battery is good and if its bass is the same level or even better than the common motion boom.

Got my Boom+ ( I have a boom which I love). Initial thoughts - this is going to take EQing to get right. Out of the box - SC signature with phone flat eq is a bit veiled. Blimey the Boom+ kicks out the bass and needs taming to keep the other frequencies in the frame - but playing with the app and poweramp eq on my phone and getting there. Early days...
I really wanted to love this speaker. It sounds amazing, it's loud (which was why I originally bought it) but...for whatever reason the audio starts to stutter really bad after I play a few songs. I don't understand why it does it, but for whatever reason the speaker acted perfectly fine for the first few songs, then the horrendous stutter would start, and because of that, I had to return it, which sucks because I really did love this speaker, and before anyone asks I tried everything to fix it, pairing, unpairing, resetting, firmware updates, etc.

I'm not dead set on the motion boom plus though if there's better alternatives. I just want a really good party speaker that I can carry around. I'll definitely take suggestions!

Would love to know what the PRs on the Motion Boom Plus are tuned to. It just might be possible to kill some of the boom and increase the low bass output by add a bit of weight to the PRs, just saying. I'm a motion boom owner. I bought the boom plus on launch day, I LOVE IT! Well worth the extra dollars (I did get the early bird discount), would recommend it to anyone that wants extra boom and extra clarity in the top end; the clearer top end is quite noticeable, in side by side comparison. The motion boom now lives in my bedroom and I have the boom plus downstairs, saves me carrying it everywhere with me (which I really was doing) lol!
The default tuning is horrid, using the custom EQ I have 80 and 150 Hz +2dB, 9KHz -1dB, and 13KHz +1dB (I have old ears) and it sounds lovely to me.

Just got the Motion Boom Plus... Sounds great to me. I also have the old Motion Boom...sounds tinny when comparing to the plus. EQ helps a lot too.

When I had to decide between motion+ and motion boom I went for the +, because of the higher clarity. Now I’m hoping to get best of both worlds … motion boom with tweeters, so Im exited for the Eq’ed tests :)
its not really like either, maybe with eq.
Soundcore really went down the wrong path. The Motion Plus was about as "Hifi" as you'd want from a cheap BT speaker, but instead they just decided to slap on as much bass as possible and appeal more toward the JBL crowd. This probably made them more money, but its definitely unfortunate for those of us that wanted the more analytical sound.

Zebra, the Earfun Uboom L is going to be a better choice. Actually 2 of them. They're cheap.
@@alexandrei1977 Who cares, it's 28 watts. At that point I would just get a motion plus. They need to make a high quality 50 watt+ speaker, thats where the market is at now. Because 28 watts will sound terrible at max volume.

I'm not sure which i like more, the bass on the plus is very big and punchy but thhe normal Boom sounds really nice with it's clear highs and mids. I'd love to see a proper test with EQ once it's possible!

Yeah, my only real complaint about the motion boom is the lack of a 3.5 mm. Jack. It's super convenient. Sometimes to just stick your TV or your phone or a tablet onto a loud speaker without worrying about connecting Bluetooth.

14:18 even with the tweeters, listening on external speakers, the sparkle isn’t there like the motion boom. Definitely noticeable increase in bass. Perhaps it is muddled and lost coming through the microphone and then my speakers.
eq hit today and this can all be fixed with a custom tuning, so thats my next job 🥳
Judging the sound on motion plus, seems that the tweeters didn't work properly, are these fake?😀 I just fitted 2 tweeters on motion boom and it sound amazing compared to stock where high frequencies are disappearing when on high volume (excessive vibration/movement of diaphragm and these cannot be reproduced)

I was the owner of the Boost, and today I have a Life Q30, two Motion Plus in TWS and two Motion Boom also in a glorious and spacious :P TWS that for me are (almost?) perfect: soundstage, volume, bass, treble, perfect connection ...so now this Motion Boom Plus is in my sights.

That's why when I was a teenager my friends and family called me "El Niño del Estéreo"... also for this reason I do not understand how some of the best known and most popular brands in Bluetooth speakers can launch mono speakers! I have a DINDIN bluetooth speaker, I absolutely love the sound quality, the lighting, it works everywhere, it makes me happy every time I use it, I have been using it for a year, this product deserves more praise.

I just mentioned in another vid an hour back that I felt something was missing from 300hz to 800h whenI listened to the sound demo on M1M Tech Channel. I was wrong, its missing the whole big piece from 300 - 2khz... lol! I also mentioned that this wasnt made to go at the boombox, rather an upgrade to the smaller motion boom. People hoping that this would come near to the deep bass of the BB2 can stop hoping now, you can bump that 80hz slider off the screen on your phone and it still wont get close. And seeing that it has a big dip from 300hz to 2khz, the eq wont totally fix that either. Still, its not a bad speaker at all but at 180 pounds, its a little too pricey for what it is. Now roll out the Tribit Stormbox Blast review because I have very high hopes for it objectively. At least that has a +/-6db 50hz slider... :)

@@alanrossreviews they most probably did that to make it sound deeper than it is but went too far. I mean 300hz to 2khz IS the whole midrange. So it cant match the BB2 as a boombox and it cant be a proper hifi sounding speaker. What is it then? A bigger and more powerful version of the Motion Boom, thats all it is. Cant say that is a bad thing but it was a letdown after all the hype, especially after looking at the objective data you provided.

That dip is definitely interesting. I was somehow hoping Anker would do some magic with the deep bass, but hey, can't ask for too much. It's also a little smaller than I was expecting.

eq hit today and it fixes for me most of the issues. weirdly looking at their graph for the signature eq they actually show the deliberate dip in the mids as i talked of in this video. so they actually thought that was a good idea lol

now its junk? he loved it when he first heard it. yeah he says there is some bass pumping at low volume. i dont listen at low volumes though, well i do but most real world listening is 40% and up.

Thoughts on buying the Boom Plus vs. two Motion+s? Ideally I'd have all three, but I want something to sort of 'do it all' for the foreseeable future: outside entertaining, workout music, occasional movie/show amplification, etc.
they really are so different, two motion pluses lack real bass but do everything else right, almost opposite of boom plus without eq 🤷♂️
I was hoping for an EQ comparison tbh. Its a big advantage Soundcore products have vs competing brands. I cant say much on this forefront since I only have the Motion+ but I get deeper bass from the speaker when using it with an EQ. Even a few dB deeper on the Boom+ would be epic. Love the videos as always

If you have to choose beween the Boom, Boom + or Motion + want Will you choose hifi quality wise? I want to use it outside sometimes, but also want to listen to good quality when on holiday. I’m used to better speakers at Home.

You are legit the best audio reviewer. Have you seen or heard the Sony XG500 in person? It seems like the mids and highs are nonexistent. I really want one, but all the sound tests I hear make me change my mind everytime. I just seen TriBit’s StormBox Blast and it looks like JBL finally has a contender for the bass on the Boombox style speaker.

After messing around with my boom plus that came in yesterday... I am REALLY interested in what you come up with for a custom EQ. There seems to be something that really fatigues my ears around 5 Khz or so. I would get it to where I thought I was happy with the EQ and then when I came back, I didn't like it. Did that about 3 times lol. It's almost like they used a piezo tweeter instead of the advertised silk dome.
Buy, it sure goes to hell at around 90% volume and there is zero headroom for the EQ at max. It seems like they were really chasing that loudness number.
I will say though that when I did an A/B with the OG motion boom, I do like the plus a lot better. I just gotta get an EQ setting that I like more. I am thinking of using the AUX input to run REW on this thing using a laptop.
Also, I will say this: This speaker is now my pound for pound favorite. But, I mean pound as in the empirical unit of measure, not UK monetary unit. This sucker is only 2 Lbs heavier than my motion boom! We are heading to Mexico for a week soon and you better believe this is the speaker I am going to pack. When I had both out in the back yard the Boom Plus completely blew away the boom.
ah! but you havent two booms against it yet 🥳 you can check my eq so far on my IG. yes they have a nasty 6khz peak on this they actually thought was a good idea on the first firmware update. idiots. no 6hz slider so you are left having to mess with the 5and 9khz sliders.

Thanks for replying, I thought I was losing my mind with that 6khz bit. I only dabble in audio production so I wasn't sure of myself. And YES, that's what I kept doing was playing with 5k and 9k! I could never get it quite right. And sure enough, the first thing I did was update the firmware.
I just bought poweramp EQ on my android phone and I really think I am going to use REW and my calibrated microphone and sit there and manually input correction REW settings into the app hahah. I have never made a youtube video but I may actually make one on that if it works out for me.
Chasing down that harsh frequency was bugging me all night.

@@alanrossreviews So, I gave it a first try this morning and the results are VERY encouraging. I don't have a studio or anything so I placed the speaker on my bed in the middle of the room and put the calibrated microphone about 4 feet away. I only took 3 measurements, center then maybe 25 degrees off axis each side. I usually only listen at about 40% volume max so I measured at that. I set a custom EQ with everything flat because even the "balanced" preset is a little wonky.
I am now REW expert either, I thought I told it to be somewhat aggressive with a 12db max adjustment but the dip at 117hz ate that right up! The next largest filter was 8db reduction at 192 Hz.
Now if only the Soundcore DSP would allow for Parametric EQ values... Still, I pretty much only play these with my phone so it works out well enough. I have no clue how they come up with that terrible "signature" EQ curve, maybe rolling dice?
Well, anyhow... For just a first run, I have to say I am quite happy. It's a little subtle but it got rid of a lot of the harsh stuff which if very evident in some music like She's Gone by Hall and Oats when the chorus kicks in.
How do you go about picking your music tracks for your videos without getting copyright strikes??? I also have to figure out how to properly record this thing if I make a video.
the reason it's 10w per tweeter and 30 per bass mid driver is because it's an active not passive crossover, it's split in the amp, probably in the DSP this is a good thing eliminating phase problems, got mine today and app is up and running.
EQ makes a big difference ....brings those mids back into play

Not 100% however, i did work in the industry and this was always the case with a variable output crossover it allows them to play mode accurately with the response without adding further passive components , to limit power as well as crossover frequency would require at least a second or third order crossover instead of a single capacitor which would add way too much cost to a component such as this. Hello Alan Ross! I am a big fan of yours since I bought 4 Motion Boom speakers because of your recommendations! I wanted loudspeakers that had a lot of power, because I wanted to party outside (I hesitated between the minirig, the JBL party box 310, and the Mtion Boom). The Minirigs were very expensive for me, and the JBL weighed too much (I maybe had to run from the police XD). I bought the Motion Boom and I loved them!! For their price they were the best without a doubt.
So I did some more research, I wanted to buy another 2, but the TWS only accepts 2 speakers... the solution? Buy a phone that can connect 2 bluetooth speakers at the same time (Samsung s8), this way, I can have 4 motion booms playing at the same time!!! It's amazing how many parties you can create, considering how incredibly portable they are.
For me, the most important is the loudness - portability, I have all the eq settings of my 4 motion booms in the maximum, clarity is lost (and battery), but a LOT of power is gained!
So after all this text (sorry), my question is:
- Do you think it deserves to buy 4 motion boom plus? Will it sound much louder? How many can be connected at the same time? the comparison should be with the eq settings of the Motion Boom and Motion Boom Plus at maximum.

they sound different, i prefer the warmth of the boom but for sheer clout the plus will stomp all over it, louder with more bass but more of a harshness in the highs.

Got mine today and mid volume its pretty good but the bass really falls off at the top volume end. Ngl slightly disappointed. However, this has sort of made a decision for me where I need to look at an alternative big sound party system.

I apologize for the question as you must have already had the answer in the video but I'm from Brazil and I don't speak English, I wanted to know if it is superior or at least competes with the boombox 2, if it is as tall as the boombox and really delivers the 80w, if the motion boom plus battery is good and if its bass is the same level or even better than the common motion boom.

Got my Boom+ ( I have a boom which I love). Initial thoughts - this is going to take EQing to get right. Out of the box - SC signature with phone flat eq is a bit veiled. Blimey the Boom+ kicks out the bass and needs taming to keep the other frequencies in the frame - but playing with the app and poweramp eq on my phone and getting there. Early days...
yup not sure what soundcore were thinking when tuning this and the firmware update just sticks a huge 6khz peak into the mess.
Hi Alan, do u have a new EQ for boom+ 0.43 or 0.44 firmware? Or u still use the same for 0.36.
I really wanted to love this speaker. It sounds amazing, it's loud (which was why I originally bought it) but...for whatever reason the audio starts to stutter really bad after I play a few songs. I don't understand why it does it, but for whatever reason the speaker acted perfectly fine for the first few songs, then the horrendous stutter would start, and because of that, I had to return it, which sucks because I really did love this speaker, and before anyone asks I tried everything to fix it, pairing, unpairing, resetting, firmware updates, etc.

@@alanrossreviews Open in the background? I do leave the app open in the background. If that's what could be the problem I'd gladly reorder the speaker. I'm not dead set on the motion boom plus though if there's better alternatives. I just want a really good party speaker that I can carry around. I'll definitely take suggestions!
for me forcing the app to close helps but not everyone gets a fix that way
Great review as always, maybe these are our prayers for the best of both world answered boom + motion+. Will be looking forward to more comparisons, maybe with the mifa, jbl's and other boom boxes. Also, would you recommend this for less than 40% volume listening on the house or to replace pc speakers in terms of clarity?. Thanks befohand cheers mate
it will be very bass heavy at 40%, not so clear, without eq anyways
Would love to know what the PRs on the Motion Boom Plus are tuned to. It just might be possible to kill some of the boom and increase the low bass output by add a bit of weight to the PRs, just saying. Trying to convince SWMBO now that we need a new BT speaker so I can check out the MBP for myself...
man you gotta lay down the law!!!! you are a bloke and you need bloke shit!!!!!! just do a bass sweep and listen for a peak. i havent tried that yet. looks to me like there is peak around 65hz.

Once I got EQ to work it sounded way better. I did a small A/B test in my review, shoutout to Alan for the detailed insight as always!!
The default tuning is crazy, sucked out mids and a nasty 6khz peak. Soundcore really lost the plot on this one 🤷
