      There are only 2 settings on these type of carbs:
      1. Idle air mixture screw (specified number of turns from lightly seated )
      2. Float height as per specs in manual.

    • @BubbaRountreeOutdoors

      The carb tree has carbs 1&3 connected together with the air-bleed adjustment. so when you adjust carb 1 it's also adjusting carb 3. carbs 2 & 4 are connected the same way! When you adjust the air bleed on carb 2 you're also adjusting carb 4.

Sprayed in Carb cleaner and runs awesome; but I see there is quite a bit of petrol inside the cowl. Could it be out the carbs(due to me trying to remove the front plate) or is there a loose connection on the fuel line?

    • @abe2571
      @abe2571 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a 95 115 Mariner. It has the 2+2 system on it. It idles on the top two carbs and at about 1800 rpm it fires up the bottom two carbs so all four are running at higher rpms. Therefore only the top two carbs have the idle mixture screws since the bottom two aren't doing anything at idle. Your outboard may have the same setup.

    Great video. I just recently picked up a '87 bass tracker. In the process of restoring it. I was wondering why it looked like it had hook ups for two batteries. I'm assuming I have a 24v system as well.
    Do you need two batteries hooked up to run anything electric? (Trim, lights, ect.) I hooked up one battery and got nothing. I tried it on both sides. ( One side at a time)
    I'm very new two the boating world and appreciate any response or tips.

    • @BubbaRountreeOutdoors

      Hey Robert... You only need 2 batts to run your trolling motor! 1 battery should handle all other accessories! The problem could be anything when you have an electrical failure! The 1st place to start is the fuse block to check for power and blown fuses. Wade

    Hey there! I have a 2002 mercury 75hp 2 stroke with a carb tree like yours, but just 3 instead of 4 carbs. The boat is bogging down when full throttle. I tried a different gas tank, used seafoam, and changed spark plugs. Still bogged down. I watched the video a couple times and ordered 3 gasket kits and tackled it today. Your video is awesome and it helped a lot. I have one question about this process. I know that there is a gasket that goes between the carburetor and the engine (it feeds through the carb tree mounting screws). Is there supposed to be that same gasket on the other side of the carb that goes between the carb and black plate? I just got this engine so I don’t know what the previous owner did. The gasket kit only came with one of those (they are a rounded diamond shape with a carb sized circle cut out the middle and two screw holes.). Thank you for your help!!!

      hey Billy... Yeah, Merc love those 'Surface Gap' plugs. They were designed for extended high RPM durations. Not great for guys who want to idle or troll for extended periods of time! Yes, you can replace with an electrode plug if you have adequate piston clearance. You will want to look at a plug chart and get the replacement plugs with the same # or better yet get the next hotter plug. Be sure to install 1 plug while leaving all other plugs out of the powerhead, slowly rotate your engine with a wrench on the flywheel nut, make a couple revolutions then remove and recheck your plug gap. If all is good, then install new plugs and no worries!! Wade
