    1:22 "79.5kWh battery"
    Open source data:
    1. EQA has battery configuration 2p100s www.goingelectric.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=546&t=67632
    2. On the Mercedes configuration page www.mercedes-benz.de/passengercars/mercedes-benz-cars/models/eqa/specifications/battery.module.html has been mentioned Nominal Ah capacity of 187,5 Ah (earlier was 190 Ah and someone made a screenshoot) and MAXIMAL Voltage 420 V (if 100s configuration is true, it is 4,2 V per cell which is totally realistic).
    If we assume 3,7 V nominal per cell, then pack voltage is x100 = 370 V, and gross energy content is 370 x 190 = 70300 Wh.

    The power meter does not make sense. Shows already 100% briefly after you stepped on the pedal when speed shows still 0 kph . Power output however should only max out at 40+ kph. The model 3 reaches it at roughly 65 kph

    • @Mario-zv3dw

    • @kabiilsrikaran290
      @kabiilsrikaran290 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also had a B class ev but I realised that the car wasn’t efficient use of kWh. The biggest down side with the b class is not available fast charging option and not efficient car at all because it is build on a fossil car platform . The car can only get max range around 160km, and Mercedes claims 200 km or range plus pack 230 km. So I bought the ID4 VW which is build on a ev platform from VW which is much more efficient. I dont use fast charger but it is good to have options. But I wouldn’t recommend people B class ev! That’s my opinion!

      @@kabiilsrikaran290 It's a shitty EV but it's a great car. Build quality is really good and it's also really practical. Torque in electric cars is not comparable to ICEs. In ICEs torque figures (at a rpm) gives a picture of how much you'd have to rev the engine and gear changes... drivability. In a EV, rpm of the motor is irrelevant, and you don't change gears (yourself)... wheel torque coupled with speed would be nice, but that's a stat I haven't seen around

    • @herguth
      @herguth 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course it's comparable. Engine torque curve is what you use to compare engines, and it's what determines the horsepower.

    • @salemyr
      @salemyr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's only comparable if the gearing is comparable. With an ICE everyone has an understanding of the relationship between rpm and speed. So you know what RPM your EV has at what speed?

  • @DPortain
    @DPortain 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Yes, please include torque and torque per kg. It'll relate 1:1 to acceleration.

    • @rikardottosson1272
      @rikardottosson1272 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Assuming there is no gearing whatsoever, of course, on any of the cars measured

    • @FabianYoutub
      @FabianYoutub 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is only true while at torque limited speeds. Assume two cars with the same torque figure and same gearing etc. but double the power on the second car. Given that the first car becomes power limited at 40km/h, its acceleration will start to decline from there. However, the second car will accelerate at the same rate until reaching 80km/h despite having the same torque figure. Long story short, the entire torque curve is required to make valid comparisons and not just a single peak torque number.

      My previous generation E Niro is nearly two seconds faster. And more efficient…. With more space…… Similar/better? equipment…. And 10kGBP cheaper. With the launch of Korean E-GMP models, Ioniq5 and EV6, the German EVs are now 2 EV generations out of date. No wonder owners choose Tesla (same price) and take a risk on build quality.

    • @chrizz754
      @chrizz754 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Sorry but that's wrong, S-Class, eqs, GLS, G and various AMG models are luxury cars. If you expect luxury in an GLA, EQA, B class which cost almost the same as VWs or Toyotas than of course you will be disappointed. The range of cars Mercedes is providing goes in my opinion from almost mainstream to luxury - very much depends on the model and trim level you going for. Mb-Marketing however will tell you something different.

      @@chrizz754 But £10k more than an equivalent E Niro which is faster, more efficient, similar build quality and equally well equipped? And with 7 year warranty? • @chrizz754
      @chrizz754 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ellistreloar2047 What do you mean with the Germans? VAG is clearly on the same level with Hyundai and Kia as all brands like VW, Skoda and Audi (soon Seat) have decent and good performing familiy EVs. Mercedes and BMW are a little bit behind, but they start to catch up. The EQS is pretty good example, but of course that´s not a family car. However, i agree with Ioniq5 and EV6, they will be a tough competition.

    • @ellistreloar2047
      @ellistreloar2047 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrizz754 I cannot agree with you. Higher prices with lower acceleration and efficiency when sold with a bigger battery does not place the VAG, BMW or Mercedes cars on an equal footing with the existing Korean cars. The data is very clear when you compare their spec and performance with the current 3-5 year old Korean designs, which are conversions of ICE platforms. All the published road tests - especially KiaBjorn's - prove this. The point I'm making is that the Germans will be very seriously behind when the Ioniq 5 and EV6 are on the road. It is the consequence of very poor leadership and technical development amongst legacy manufacturers. The ONLY advantage they offer is faster charging BUT that is only relevant to a very small % of owners that rely heavily on public DC fast charging - which Bjorn emphasises in his tests. The Mercedes EQS may be the only exception although S class has always been at least 1-2 generations of technology ahead of the A-E class cars.
