I love that little basket !!! Those are a wonderful idea for gifting cookies in a plastic bag of course inside of it! I can’t wait to make some for Christmas!
This is lovely. I am going to make a short basket to sit on top of my chest of drawers that doubles as a dressing table, to tidy up all the odds and ends like buttons, hairpins, etc. At the moment, I am using an ashtray to hold things, and I don’t even smoke! The lid makes a huge difference, so much neater than an open dish. Thank you.
We've got a mini tutorial on that here: th-cam.com/video/P87GpDPExsU/w-d-xo.html You can do it working flat on a surface as opposed to "in the air" like I usually do. It's a good way to practice and it works the same 😊
I've been searching for months for a Christmas gift project . I think I might of found one with your videos help. Like you said baskets help in many ways. But with a lid... fantastic!!!! And to style it for a certain holiday... my creativity began to imagine how for Christmas. Thank you so very much. This pattern will help greatly. 🧡😊👍

This is such an awesome idea! I made a basket to hold my makeup and this would be a great addition to hold my mascaras, eye liners and lip colors along with my brushes and applicators!!!! Also a few to hold my body sprays and perfumes 🙂. Love it!!!!!!!!!
Been working , and miss so may lives latley, I thought this was an acorn , until i clicked on to watch it and you was holding it 😂 and mentioned acorn 😂, I love this basket , will be making at least 1😊, different colors make different many ideas. Love you tutorials and your simple teahing , I have much fun listening and crocheting along with your videos. Thank you , Jayda. ❤
I've found a great way to eliminate that bump at the bottom of the basket. When ready to move to the side, remove your hook, Come in from the back to front, grab your yarn & pull through. Now you can start your side from the back, no bump.
Hey Jayda! Love this pattern. Just a random thought for a video idea, it'd be super cool to see some inspiration for crocheting with recycled items like bottle caps or bottle components. I have a ton of playdough can caps that I would love to use in crochet somehow, but the only idea I have is 'hippie tree belt' lol
Jayda, do you have a tutorial for easy way to triple yarn? Also, for beginners or even people who learned to crochet 50+ years ago but always had problems with SC post crochets... I go up 1 hook size for the last row of increases on the base to make stitches slightly larger and noticeable then switch back to the original hook for the post stitch row. I can do all other post stitches, HDC, DC, TRC, even DTRC, etc .. maybe one day I'll be able to do the SC posts without "cheating"
@@JaydaInStitches thank you. I've seen other channels with it but don't want to redirect. Also, I didn't realize you replied before I edited and added my "woe" lol
Hi Mandi! It's 20% wool, so it might bother you, but it might not, I'm sure it will depend on your sensitivity. But you can also use Hometown or "I Wanna Make a Blankie" for this project too!
Could you do a tutorial for making hats for our cats and dogs? Well... it is almost Halloween then Christmas. I'd love to attempt a wee witchy hat then a wee elf hat. 😾😁
I've made this years ago out of plarn (plastic grocery bags) and it holds keys that don't go on my key ring. Of course I didn't have your tutorial and mine leans a bit. May make another.
Hi! If you just don't want it to fall off and go missing, you could chain a length of say 14, run the chains through a stitch on the edge of the lid and through a stitch on the very edge of the basket, then join the chains to make a ring. That will keep the 2 pieces from getting separated and should still allow you to close it.
thank you so very much to respond. My plan is to use basket w as a toiler paper roll cover, this will be used for tissues 😊😊any additional ideas on how to attach the lid when using a button so we can be opened oh, what else would you recommend?
As I worked on the lid this evening, I thought maybe I would not put the post, and then the two additional single crochets and the slipknot, I thought I would stop for the slip I would stop at the vote before the post, and do a row of slipknot and find a way to attach the lid so we can also open thoughts
This sort of looks like an acorn. My little one asked that i make valentine's (amigurumi) acorns for her class of 11 kids. She asked me months ago. Do you have any suggestions on what that would entail? I'm at a loss but don't want to disappoint her. Thank you!
Hi! We have an acorn pattern, that if you used really thick yarn and a big hook would size up to a small toy size. You can find that here: th-cam.com/video/FUGPa1qKAkA/w-d-xo.html

Hi Robin, You can make it taller by adding more rows, you can make it larger by increasing by a few extra rows in the bottom. For a larger basket in general, check out our Big Beautiful Basket here: th-cam.com/video/NzQmkNuruas/w-d-xo.html
Yikes, love the basket but that yarn hates me. I can't use yarn that has machine washable wool. Would Hometown, Respun chunky or something similar work as a substitute?
Haven't even begun the video but I'm thinking yes and you could probably triple up #4 yarn which might be better for tp (unless you're going to felt it a little--- thinking about itchy wool pieces getting into the tp 😂) Excellent idea though!!!
