Hi Jayda! I'm 13 and I learned a lot of crocheting through your videos! I love how happy and cheerful you are, even if I'm in a depressed mood you can't help but make me laugh! I wanted to thank you for everything you do and share with us! My school recently started a crochet club and we made a place to share our favorite patterns and about 90% of them are your patterns! So thank you for creating such easy to follow tutorials and amazing projects!
Hi Hannah! WOW! First of all, thank you so much for watching our show 😊 Secondly, I think it's fantastic that you have a crochet club at your school! 💗🧶
It is so good to see the younger generation learning fabric crafts. I learned to crochet from my aunt when I was 5-6 yrs old & am now 61 & still crocheting. In my day all we had access to was afghan patterns so I luv all the new projects out there to explore. Keep crafting & inspiring others. Crafters are always here to support each other so if you need help, reach out to our wonderful community. And most of all, have fun!
Aloha Jayda I live in Hawaiʻi. ive been crocheting since i was 8yrs old. I am Now 72 yrs old. About 5 years ago, I had a stroke. While recovering in a nursing home, I asked my Son to bring me some yarn and a crochet hook to Keep me busy. I felt good to start crocheting but couldnt. My hands wouldnt work. I couldn’t hold my yarn and I couldn’t crochet. I cried for two days. I kept trying and I kept failing. After about a week, I found a new way to hold my yarn but now I realized how difficult it was for me. I searched TH-cam to find someone to help me. I searched and searched but every tutorial was hard to understand, then I found you. You are a Godsend and I love you soooo much. I’m now making scarves, beanies and ear warmers for family and friend in the states ( my daughter lives in Maryland, U.S.) I also make kitchen towel toppers, kitchen towel holders and pot holders …all from your tutorials. Today I’m going to try my hand at making a large basket. Thank you, thank you, thank you….I can crochet again!!!!
Hi Carlinda! Way to get your Cro-Jo back 😁 Your determination and resulting success is ALL YOU 💗 We're just delighted to know that we got to be a part of your journey! Thank you so much for watching!
For beginners, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of stitch markers at the beginning of each row. I must have redone this five times before I started doing that! It really helped.
Oh my, I was buying that very expensive bulky yarn for these baskets & blankets! I surely wish I had seen your video before, but from now on I will be using your wonderful technique using multiple strands! Thank you so very much, your basket is simply stunningly beautiful!
I commented some time ago that my basket was too floppy... and I was not happy. I took the plunge and ripped it all out! I re-did the basket with two changes: holding the yarn tighter and going one hook size smaller. Voila! The basket is GORGEOUS and STANDS UP!! I am thrilled, and my son even asked me to crochet one for him. I am delighted with the (second) results!
I late to the party but I just made this basket and noticed the same thing. I probably should have done what you did but as a basically lazy person, I came up with another idea that worked for me. I made some homemade heavy starch and sprayed the basket liberally. If I make another basket, I’ll do as you suggested. Loved this project.
I love how using yarn colors you may not like look great when you use them with two other colors. I made three of these baskets for holiday gifts this year and they were truly loved🧶
Yes! I wanted to use up a bright blue I thought was ugly and have this basket be in a closet so I don't have to look at it, but when I paired it with gray and a dark blue it became such a beautiful combination that I can't just hide it
Jayda, I’ve made three of these baskets; one each for my two grandchildren, and one for my great nephew who went off to college. I love to observe the “personality” of the basket as it develops. Each is unique as they incorporate different colors! Thank you for sharing and teaching. Valerie
So, I just wanted to say how much fun this project was! I made several mistakes in counting my stitches during the initial increase rounds at the beginning -but, this pattern combined with using variegated yarns means none of the errors show. Next time I’ll be more careful-but even with mistakes my first basket turned out awesome! Thank you for posting this!
Hi Theresa! Yes! The final stitch count isn't terribly important (so long as you're in the ballpark) :) We're so glad you enjoyed our video, Thank you for watching!
Absolutely wonderful! I love the back post stitch at the bottom - I’ve never seen that done before - it’s perfect. The slight variation I’ve made, with my experience of holding 5-7 strands of different weight yarns together, is to substitute an increase row with a single crochet only row - it helps with the ‘wave’ (I do this in the rows 8 and 10 = 64 sts). Also, if you add 1-2 strands of a cotton yarn, and use a smaller hook, it stiffens the walls considerably. Your basket turned out beautifully 🎉
The yarns you used are pretty together. The Basket is beautiful. You are so funny putting your basket over your head to show how large it is. Too Funny! Keep up the good work and the Entertainment.
Ok Jayda, I have never learned to crochet but I have fallen in love with this basket and stopped and bought a hook last night oh and some yarn and I have been practicing on single crochet! I have watched your video 4 times and I think I’m ready! I’m self taught or video taught on crochet and now I want to make baskets for everyone! I’m thinking of all kinds of things I’m going to put in this basket! ! My best friend in a crocheting wizard but she lives in another state , she can help me if I’m stuck! Wish me luck everyone!
So, I'm a couple of years late, but I now volunteer for a homeless charity, and O.M.GOSH! The people we help could use these baskets, so I know EXACTLY what I'm going to do with the yarn that I've been collecting! Thank you SO MUCH for the clear instructions! Love your enthusiasm, and I'm subscribed! ♥️👍
Love, LOVE your basket. I have made over 15 and everyone LOVES them. Your tutorial is easy to follow. There will be many more baskets in my future--perhaps, even I'll get to "keep" one. THANK YOU!!!
You are such a happy lady that your happiness reflect on you work. You are patient and your instructions are clear. You know, I tried to make the hat you have in another tutorial I did not quite make it. I know I need to practice more. My edges are never straight, but I love it. I am going to do the basket. Wish me luck
Hi Elizabeth! A little practice will certainly help straighten out your tension, it's something we all deal with when we're starting out 😊 Thank you for watching!
I was working on this basket while my students tested. One of my students wanted me to teach her to crochet and so I gave her a hook and some yarn and showed her how to do a slip knot and how to chain today. 😃
Aww, that is so great! You may have started that child on a lifelong hobby, what a great thing to have done - even if not, lovely that you took the time to do that!
I extended the pattern to get 20 rounds on the bottom. I then just made it taller and I use it for all my scrap balls and left over skeins. It is huge and wonderful. I call it my ball sack and it sits in the corner of my living room. I added a few crochet flowers on it for interest, it is full of small balls o yarn and It receives a ton of compliments. I did mine is a solid aqua using the continuous 3 strand method. I am going to make my next one out of a wool blend and wash it to felt it a bit! this is an awesome pattern. Thank you.
Oh shoot! I thought I could ad a photo of my Big Beautiful Basket! I'm a beginner and it's the biggest project I have done. It came out so perfect! I can barely wait to give it away!!! Thank you !!!!!!!
I started crocheting about a year or so ago, and l have to say, of all the videos lve watched and copied, you are the best. Your instructions are clear , your camera work is faultless, and you explain things in a way that makes it easy to understand. Thanks honey, really, thanks so much. Also, your sense of humour, cracks me up. Xxxx
Thank goodness for you not skipping any parts and explaining things so well! I tried following another creator, I don't know why but I failed about 7 times to end up with the correct amount of stitches. I used stitch markers and listened to every direction and each time things wouldn't work out 😢 I'm so thankful for your channel. Also side note if you had yellow and golden colours the increases would create a sun pattern at the bottom! Thank you!!! 😊
Loved this so much I just finished one! It’s going to be a “gift bag” for a baby shower (my future 1st GREAT grandson) filled with little necessities every new mom needs. 😁 Thanks Jada!!
I am absolutely delighted with the way this bag turned out! It is the best thing I have ever crocheted, and thank you, Jayda, for your wonderful, inspiring, clear, entertaining, non-frustrating, accurate and easy to follow videos which are making TH-cam a great place to hang out!
You have the BEST crochet channel!!!! Thank you for making your videos so easy and simple. I always look forward to the next one!!! You are so funny, and the projects and perfect.
These are great! I love baskets! I have made several.. different sizes... colors. They make great gifts. I have a couple small ones sitting on my craft table for when I cut off my tails. I've made a couple for my boys for their hot wheel cars and legos. And I made one for my husband for his gaming controllers. They are so much fun to make! 💙
US THEM and totally customizable and washable!!!! Even makes a great gift bag like when Jayda did the “gift of crochet” video That’s what I did for my mom 😄🌈❤️
I needed something to do while my husband recovered from COVID and we were quarantined in the house. He recovered and I finished the basket about the same time. Jayda, I enjoyed your tutorial and your cheery face almost every day as I had to go back and watch again the different steps. Thank you!
Thanks Jayda just finished mine for my mums crochet project and yarn. She will be well pleased when she wakes up. My cat was eyeing the basket up I think I may do one for him now. Thanks for all your wonderful work and magical and magnificent tutorials. Lots of love from London 😽⚘⚘⚘❤❤❤
I'm supposed to be learning today on this Sabbath Day. But I cannot concentrate, until after watching this. I really like this & cannot wait to try making one myself. Thank you so much for this tutorial. APTTMH 🙏💜💛🙌🏽
You are such a beautiful, lovable goofball! (the video cut where you've got the basket on your head, lol) This is a gorgeous basket, thank you for the free pattern & it is a pleasure watching you teach.
I've worked with 2 strands a few times, but never three. I have a big stash I need to cut down, so I just grabbed three skeins and started in. I LOVE IT! The effect is so pretty! I'm looking forward to gift-giving this whole year!
I just discovered your channel 3 days ago. You have a very sweet bubbly personality and you are very easy to follow. I have already made one of your hats. I love your videos. Thank you for sharing you skills.
New viewer. The colors are so beautiful Blended together. And I like how you got in really close so that we could see what we're doing. I am so new to crochet! So thank you
Jayda first I want to say you have the best tutorials on TH-cam when it comes to these projects you are so informative & the projects always turn out wonderful !!!! I took a year off from crocheting and I’ve missed it so much and I believe this is going to be my first project to start with today 👍🏼🥰 I have loves these baskets for such a long time and many times I have almost purchased one but didn’t lol and I was so happy to come across this tutorial when I seen this basket 🧺! I just want to say I appreciate all of your videos you share with us & teach us with your kind voice 🦋you deserve a big shout “ THANK YOU “!
I agree, Krystal. This is the best tutorial video I’ve ever seen in TH-cam. Great camera angles and close-ups. Very easy to see how it’s done. Thanks, Jayda!👍
You’re always so fun to watch, and learn from. My son was teasing me saying yarn can’t stand up. You helped me prove him wrong!! Now he wants 2 wider and shorter ones for his cats to sleep in! This was fun. Thanks again. You taught me to make something totally different than anything before. 😁🧶
I love this basket. Have been making lots. Recently did one but instead of 3 different strands I made a 3 strand out of 1 (used a tutorial I found on how to do that) attaching each new color as I went. I love the result.
This is my first time watching your videos. I'm very pleasantly surprised. Extremely informative, very easy to follow instructions. I also love how genuinely happy and upbeat the presenter is. I'm a normally upbeat/cheerful person myself but she has me beat by miles. That makes me happy! I don't know how it could not make anyone else happy while watching her either. So I'm now a new subscriber. I'm just getting back into arts and crafts and this looks to be a very do-able beginning project. Thanks for the great video and I look forward to watching many more. 🤗👍
You are SUCH a good instructor and delightful. Over 40 years ago I did exactly this and made it into a backpack with handles and a drawstring. I just sold it this year at a crafts show as it was in my closet for years, I didn't have the heart to much use it. But I was sure ahead of my time with the backpack idea. Thanks for an excellent and nostalgic adventure for me! I am definitely going to my stash to start this, your colors look great!
Good morning Jayda and the institches family! I've just completed my basket from your tutorial and I couldn't be more pleased! Now I'm starting another one for my Aunt! What a gorgeous basket! I couldn't have done it without YOU! Thank you sincerely for sharing your talent with us all!🥰🧶🧶
I just want to say, whenever I feel that I need a good crochet meditation, I make one of these baskets! I love the process and the finished project! I just started one last night with the junk yarn a friend gave me-helps her and helps me! Thanks so much Jada, yours is the best basket on TH-cam!
I made this today. Took me just shy of 5 hours from start to finish. Mine ended up half the size of yours though. I must have done my stitches too tight. Either way, I am very happy and proud of my basket. Thank you ❤
Watching you is real good i just found you and been watching how to crochet i believe i will be able to do it, you teach real well keep up with the great things you make.
Wow! Your presentation style is so calm and so precise. Visuals are the best! Can't wait to start my basket. Thanks so much❤🏆 And loving your accent. Missing 🇨🇦
" THIS IS AN AWESOME PROJECT, " ALTHOUGH I THINK IT THE TEACHER THAT MAKES IT SO EXCITING ! THANK YOU FOR SHARING ! " IF I WOULD HAVE KNOW I WOULD HAVE BEEN MAKING BASKETS INSTEAD OF BLANKETS ETC ! " THANK YOU !
Hello, just found your site and I just finished your basket. It only took me 2 days to do it. Your instructions were right on. Thank you so much. I will post a picture on Esty.
I made a smaller basket using Bernat Pop and Red Heart Stripe, in the same brown colour group that I had leftover from other projects, it turned out so much better than I had thought. I'm terrible for buying colour block yarn because I like the colours or it's on sale and then have no idea what to do with them, I found the basket was a great project and was flexible with sizing. I made this one for my granddaughter for storing her play food, but I plan to make a few more for me to use for holding my yarn cakes that I'm working on and smaller balls of yarn for colour work projects. Thank you for this video, I hate doing the math myself and this way I can point to your video and say "Jayda made this, see it looks great when it's done." P.S. - I took your advice and bought a set of Clover Amour Crochet hooks and they are so much more comfortable with my Rheumatoid arthritis and now the osteoarthritis in my fingers and hands. I thank you for your advice, I prefer to take advice from a fellow sufferer over anyone else. You Rock!!
Hi! I hope you enjoy the Clover hooks, I am really enjoying mine so far, I find they really help with my grip (and much less pain!). Thank you for watching :)
The colors are awesome together. Love it❣ I'm glad you mentions to stretch out our hands because I needed to do that. Crochet and stretch, crochet and stretch. 💙
You just gained another subscriber! I love your easy-going way.....I will admit I thought you'd just show how to get started (as a lot of YT-ers do, but continuing until the BASKET is finished is what sold me on trying this!! ( I actually said to myself "No THANKS....I 'll just make myself another basket with reeds, etc." I have been making baskets for years, and love doing it. When I seen your video....Well, I'm convinced I need to get another Crochet Hook....to try this! Thanks so much! :)
Took me a half day to make thid wonderful bag. I'm cleaning my craft room so this will come in handy. Why buy storage containers? Love my bag. Thank you Jayda!!!
So happy I finished this basket! I love the colors and will most likely make another! It also gave me some other skills I can apply to other things! Thank you!
Oh my gosh. I would see these baskets and think I could never do that.(only crocheting 9 moths), but you did such an amazing job teaching this, that I can hardly wait to do it. ❤ Thank you sooo much!!
I love making baskets, in our Charity group a few yrs ago I made a large basket as first prize filled with 50 balls of 8ply 100 g balls for a weekend competition whereby we were all reducing stash to make items most needed for homeless persons at that time. What I used to make the large basket stand up of it's own accord was Nylon gauze/organza ribbon not quite1/2" wide with a chunky 12-14ply variegated Acrylic yarn 400g ball -natural colours (flesh, cream, milk coffee shades) 1 strand only. You didn't notice the white organza ribbon but the fact that it stood up by itself made filling it so much easier. Also it was done in DC (US) TR (UK) which made it easier on the hands and it grew faster. - I doubt whether it could have been done in SC as the Organza ribbon significantly adds to the thickness. The nylon/Organza ribbon on a reel of 1000m used about a 1/4 - so was economical as the reel was $10 AU. Also use the nylon ribbon combined with cotton /or kitchen string for dish wash clothes (nice n scratchy
I love the basket! What a great idea! I have so much leftover yarn I hat I can make a basket for a lot of people or a basket for every room in my house! Love, love, love this idea! I just found you and you make this look so easy! Thanks so much! A new loyal fan indeed!
I quit crocheting for awhile but came back to your videos!! Always thought you were the best ❤️💯 i forgot how to do cinch circle so looked at other videos. Now here I am again... And now I remembered I knew there was an easier way to do this other than having to wrap yarn around your fingers lol. Thank you so much for all of your wonderful tutorials!
I love love love that basket!!! I'm going to make one if I have to buy the yarn to do it! It would look so awesome sitting by my chair than the two overflowing wicker baskets I have now. I can't wait to get started! THANK YOU 😉😁👍
I made a smaller version of this basket, just to see if I could handle the three strands of yarn. It took a lot of smoothing out of the three before working them into a stitch and I needed to use your advice about stretching out your hands, Jayda! The result was a pretty basket my husband is now using to keep his various vitamin bottles together, instead of in a cardboard box. Thank you for this project!!! (I would love to see this basket style done in a square, as well.)
Hi Jayda Institches, thank you so much for this big beautiful basket! I made mine in almost every color of the rainbow, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, cream, tan, and white!!! I based my basket on your pattern but made it the I liked it with alot more rows because my stitch tension is very tight but I love my basket. Yours looks like licorice assort or the colors of stain glass windows! Thank you so much for this beautiful basket pattern and I hope you have an amazing week!!! Love and Light- Lily Rose😄🤗😁
Really love this project its going to be useful in many ways, and one is my 2 cats loving them I'm sure so I need to get busy thanks for another wonderful idear and project 💓
God's blessings to you Jada! I have been watching your videos for a long time only to find today that I hadn't subscribed. Silly me! I would not have noticed except I wanted to see if you put a decorative stitch on top as I have finished my new laundry basket. I absolutely love the way it turned out! I only had solid scraps so it is a rather stripey thing. I also used different yarn weights which made it slightly floppy. My husband now wants one for his clothes. I have to purchase yarn for his so I'll be using cotton variegated in his selected colors. Thanks for all you do!!!!!
I just finished mine using up some dk weight yarn. The next one I make I will use worsted as this one is floppy but I still love it. One of our new four month old kitties that we just adopted tried to crawl into it as I was finishing it up tonight! She also kept wanting to attack and eat the wool yarn 🧶. I hissed at her and gave her repeated little flicks with my fingers and she stopped attacking the yarn 😂🤣😂. I am going to make more of these. Such an easy, beautiful and satisfying project. A great way to use up my bountiful stash.
Hi Jayda, can you believe I just finished making my 4th one of these baskets! Crazy…..right! Haha! I love them and I know my sister, step daughter and niece are going to love them as Christmas presents. P.S. the first one I made was for my grand daughter. She uses it for her stuffed animals. As always Jayda, sending much love and appreciation your way. And also wishes for the merriest of Christmas and happy new year. Liz B. (From upstate NY)
Thank you.. made one out of 2 different colours of chunky yarn. Only been crocheting for a few weeks to while away the days of lockdown due to the coronavirus. I lost about 8 stitches somewhere but none the less the pattern was super easy to follow and when it came to the handles I just folded work in half to get exact position of handles. I learned how to basic crochet following your instructions for granny squares. Made 2 small throws and now the basket. Thank you for keeping me sane in these worrying times. Keep safe,. And look forward to starting another project. X
Thank you for this video and pattern! Your directions are very clear and easy to follow. I adapted this basket pattern into a crochet storage bag by adding a few buttons to close it with, a couple D rings for a removable strap, an interior pocket to hold hooks and scissors, and 3 grommet holes so that i can pull yarn through from inside the bag. I wish I could post a picture for you! Thanks again! 😀👍🏻
Hi Andra, that sounds amazing! You can share photos with us on Instagram, Twitter, Etsy and Pinterest (we're at Jayda InStitches in all 4 locations!) Just be sure to tag us so we are sure to see it :) Thank you for watching!

I finally finished mine! I added pockets to hold all my hooks and accessories 💕
Brilliant idea! Thank you for watching Bobbi :)

How did you apply the pockets inside or out?

Daughter forwarded the link to this video to me a few months back, “ what a nice Christmas present, Don’t you think ??!!” She was exactly right ! ❤
That's subtle 😂 Thank you for watching!
Oh shoot! I thought I could ad a photo of my Big Beautiful Basket! I'm a beginner and it's the biggest project I have done. It came out so perfect! I can barely wait to give it away!!! Thank you !!!!!!!
Hi Megan, that's wonderful! Thank you for watching 😊
I just made a giant version of this with chunky velvet yarn and it turned out amazing!!! Thank you so so much for this tutorial ❤️
Beautiful! Thank you for watching Liv 😊
You always make me smile when I watch your videos because you are always excited about making things. I've made a lot of projects from you
Thank you for watching Rayven!
Xxxx
Hi Suzie! We're so pleased to know you're enjoying our show! Thank you so much for watching :)
Hi! We're so happy you found our tutorial helpful! I like that idea for the sunshine too!
I feel so blessed to have found you and I’m so thankful Jennifer from Cinnamon Stitches told us how wonderful you are and she was right ❤
Hi JerriAnn, thank you so much!!
Loved this so much I just finished one! It’s going to be a “gift bag” for a baby shower (my future 1st GREAT grandson) filled with little necessities every new mom needs. 😁 Thanks Jada!!
What a lovely idea, Sandra! Thank you for watching :)
What a great idea for a baby gift! Thank you!
Wow congrats!!!
I am absolutely delighted with the way this bag turned out! It is the best thing I have ever crocheted, and thank you, Jayda, for your wonderful, inspiring, clear, entertaining, non-frustrating, accurate and easy to follow videos which are making TH-cam a great place to hang out!
Hi Diane! We are just delighted to hear how much you enjoyed our tutorial! Thank you for watching :)
Jayda InStitches I couldn’t resist - I’ve made a second one! Our house is going to be full of crochet before long! Thanks for all your hard work!! :)
You have the BEST crochet channel!!!! Thank you for making your videos so easy and simple. I always look forward to the next one!!! You are so funny, and the projects and perfect.

HI Josie, that's great! Thank you for watching 😊
this is one of the best crochet projects I have seen, can't wait to make one (and I'm sure more) once everyone sees it. Thankyou!
Hi Debbie! Thank you for watching!
Baskets are so useful! I want one of these for each room in the house :)
US THEM and totally customizable and washable!!!! Even makes a great gift bag like when Jayda did the “gift of crochet” video
That’s what I did for my mom 😄🌈❤️
I've done 2 for myself. And now I'm doing one for a Christmas present for my sister-in-law. Just Love them!! Thank you♥️
Lovely! Thank you for watching Terri 😊
I needed something to do while my husband recovered from COVID and we were quarantined in the house. He recovered and I finished the basket about the same time. Jayda, I enjoyed your tutorial and your cheery face almost every day as I had to go back and watch again the different steps. Thank you!
Thank you for watching 😊 We're very grateful to hear that he's recovered!
Thank you for watching!
we currently have a HUGE ice storm in my area, so i'm thinking of starting this!! i have TONS of scraps and everything, so it'd be super colorful!
Stay safe!
You are such a JOY!😁 You should totally have your own TV show.
I wish! * giggle * Thank you for watching 😊
I agree! She's like cartoonishly cute.
You’re a great teacher. Who just subbed? I did!🙋🏾♀️

Jayda love your work & how you take your time, show & explain in detail the stitches of your project ..
Thank you 😊
Thank you so much!
I'm supposed to be learning today on this Sabbath Day. But I cannot concentrate, until after watching this. I really like this & cannot wait to try making one myself. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
APTTMH 🙏💜💛🙌🏽
Thank you for watching Lizabeth!
What a lovely project to do bigger and better. Lovely colours and it wants me to want to make it now with all my leftovers.
Hi Alison, Thank you for watching!
You are such a beautiful, lovable goofball! (the video cut where you've got the basket on your head, lol) This is a gorgeous basket, thank you for the free pattern & it is a pleasure watching you teach.
Thank you so much!
I've worked with 2 strands a few times, but never three. I have a big stash I need to cut down, so I just grabbed three skeins and started in. I LOVE IT! The effect is so pretty! I'm looking forward to gift-giving this whole year!
Hi Mary! It is pretty :) I just made one using 3 greens and I love it just as much as the variegated one! Baskets for everybody LOL!
Awesomeness!!!! Who wouldn't love this basket. I've so much variegated yarn, mostly "cool" colors!!!
Hi Linda! Thank you for watching :)
I just discovered your channel 3 days ago. You have a very sweet bubbly personality and you are very easy to follow. I have already made one of your hats. I love your videos. Thank you for sharing you skills.
Hi Reecie, welcome to the big, crafty community and Thank you for watching!
NOW I KNOW WHAT THE COLOR REMINDS ME OF!!
It looks like those fancy hand dyed yarns!!! ❤️😄🌈
oooh! This is definitely a low cost alternative * giggle * :)
Jayda InStitches absolutely!!!! I’ve seen those for like 26 bucks for like 2 ounces 😱
New viewer. The colors are so beautiful Blended together. And I like how you got in really close so that we could see what we're doing. I am so new to crochet! So thank you
Thank you for watching, Laura :)
Hi Krystal, welcome back to the woolly world of crochet and Thank you for watching!
Hi Deborah, that's great! :D Thank you so much for watching!
I love this basket. Have been making lots. Recently did one but instead of 3 different strands I made a 3 strand out of 1 (used a tutorial I found on how to do that) attaching each new color as I went. I love the result.
Wonderful! Thank you for watching 😊
I absolutely love that I can use up the excess yarn I’ve collected over the past year to make this basket! Thank you so much!
Hi Tricia, welcome to the big, crafty community and Thank you for watching!
Hi Barbara! It's so true, if you hold on to something long enough, it comes back into style LOL! Thank you for watching :)
Good morning Jayda and the institches family! I've just completed my basket from your tutorial and I couldn't be more pleased! Now I'm starting another one for my Aunt! What a gorgeous basket! I couldn't have done it without YOU! Thank you sincerely for sharing your talent with us all!🥰🧶🧶
Wonderful! :)
I just want to say, whenever I feel that I need a good crochet meditation, I make one of these baskets! I love the process and the finished project! I just started one last night with the junk yarn a friend gave me-helps her and helps me! Thanks so much Jada, yours is the best basket on TH-cam!
Hi Anna! That is so nice to hear 💗 I feel the same! My brain can sort of drift off, and when it returns, I have a useful "thing" for the house 😁
I made this today. Took me just shy of 5 hours from start to finish. Mine ended up half the size of yours though. I must have done my stitches too tight. Either way, I am very happy and proud of my basket. Thank you ❤
Great job! Tight stitching is important, so if it's smaller, that's fine! I will still work ;)
Watching you is real good i just found you and been watching how to crochet i believe i will be able to do it, you teach real well keep up with the great things you make.
HI Pamela! Thank you for watching :)
Seriously she is so cheery and calming to listen to.
Are you serious? Like her patterns but very annoying
Oh jeez 🙄
just finished my basket. thanks for your easy to understand instructions and passion for crochet!
You are so welcome! Thank you so much for watching 😊
Wow! Your presentation style is so calm and so precise. Visuals are the best! Can't wait to start my basket. Thanks so much❤🏆 And loving your accent. Missing 🇨🇦
Thanks so much! 😊
You are such a great teacher! I found this so clear and easy to follow. Plus, you are super adorable and funny! So enjoyed this.
HI Angela! Thank you so much for watching!
Your enthusiasm is literally contagious :) I love your videos!
Wow, thank you! We're so glad to hear that!

THANK YOU FOR SHARING !
" IF I WOULD HAVE KNOW I WOULD HAVE BEEN MAKING BASKETS INSTEAD OF BLANKETS ETC ! "
THANK YOU !
Hi Gloria! Thank you for watching :)
I am a self-taught knitter, but LOVE this basket so very much I am now practicing crocheting...cannot wait to actually start this basket :)
Hi Jennifer, welcome to the woolly world of crochet! We hope you have fun!
I am a self-taught crocheter, never could quite get the hang of knitting. Welcome to the club! 😁
I just bought it 😁😁
Hello, just found your site and I just finished your basket. It only took me 2 days to do it. Your instructions were right on. Thank you so much. I will post a picture on Esty.
Wonderful! Thank you for watching :)
Thank you for this video, I hate doing the math myself and this way I can point to your video and say "Jayda made this, see it looks great when it's done."
Thanks Jayda: Starting mine today. It really is a beautiful and functional piece. You’ve taught us a method that can be used for so many items. 😸
Pretty, functional, and homemade! That ticks a bunch of boxes * giggle * :)
The colors are awesome together. Love it❣ I'm glad you mentions to stretch out our hands because I needed to do that. Crochet and stretch, crochet and stretch. 💙
I stopped quite a bit throughout this project :) I have to remember to get up and move around too LOL
I think you are such a clear and patient teacher. I have done this basket many times. I still refer to it from time to time. Thank you!
Hi Malachi! Thank you for watching 😊
I love the look of this with the variegated yarns! What a great idea to have by my chair in my living room!
Thank you Paula! 😊
So pretty! I've gathered more yarn than I could ever use but perhaps a project like this would help me reduce my vast supply!!!
Thanks for the tutorial ! I’m using it as an ongoing project for my t-yarn scraps, and it is perfect ! Yay !
That's a great idea! Thank you for watching :)
Finished my first basket today! Thank you so much. It was fun and fast. Wish I could post a picture for you. Have a great day!
Hi Diana, that's great!! If you're on Instagram or Twitter, you can post pictures and tag us there :)
Feb 2024. Just made this. Wow. Thanks so much for your video & great sense of humour plus easy instructions 😊
Hi! Thank you for watching Linda 😊
Hi! Thank you for watching and welcome to the big, crafty community :)
Jayda, I finished my basket and I loved the final result, my first project in this 2020 yeah!!!. Thanks.
Hi Monica, that's fantastic! Thank you for watching :)
Took me a half day to make thid wonderful bag. I'm cleaning my craft room so this will come in handy. Why buy storage containers? Love my bag. Thank you Jayda!!!
Can’t wait to start this project. You make it so much fun to follow the pattern. I think there are many uses for this. Thank you.
Hi Nohra! There are! I've made 5 so far LOL and they're all doing something different :) Thank you for watching!
So happy I finished this basket! I love the colors and will most likely make another! It also gave me some other skills I can apply to other things! Thank you!
Hi Carol, we're so pleased to hear that! Thank you for watching :)
I LOVE MY BIG BASKET!!! THANK YOU, MS. JAYDA! YOUR enthusiasm is contagious!!!!!! 🤗 and 💚
Thank you for watching Wanda!
Followed and made a beautiful basket with the help of this tutorial.. Instructions are clear and precise 💕
Thank you for watching 😊
Oh my gosh. I would see these baskets and think I could never do that.(only crocheting 9 moths), but you did such an amazing job teaching this, that I can hardly wait to do it. ❤ Thank you sooo much!!
Thank you so much! We hope you enjoy the project :)
Hi Janet, welcome to the big, crafty community and thank you for watching!
You make me smile. Thank you for being you.
Ahhh, Thank you Reta :)
Welcome back Leigh! Thank you so much for watching 💗
I’m in the process of moving right now but as soon as I settle down I can’t wait to start on this project! What an awesome idea 😁 Thank you!
Thank you for watching!
I love love love that basket!!!
I'm going to make one if I have to buy the yarn to do it! It would look so awesome sitting by my chair than the two overflowing wicker baskets I have now. I can't wait to get started! THANK YOU 😉😁👍
Hi Tinna! Hey, any excuse to buy more yarn ;) * giggle *
Hi Julie! This is definitely prettier than a cardboard box :) (you can toss it in the wash too!!) Thank you for watching and for the suggestion!
A square one is a great idea. I hope she shows us how to do it. I’m brand new to this & need all the help I can get. ☺️
Jayda, your enthusiasm makes learning a crochet pattern so much fun! Thank you!
Hi Barbara! Thank you for watching 😊
Hi Lily! Your basket sounds gorgeous!
Thanks Jayda, it is not just gorgeous, it is also very useful😄😄Thank you so much for commenting and hope you have an amazing week!!!🤗🤗🤗
I absolutely LOVE variegated yarn Jayda this is a great idea thank u for sharing!
Hi Andy! Thank you for watching :)
this is very cool! I truly love your videos...I can follow along well, you are a wonderful and patient teacher. Thank you.
Hi Teresa, thank you, we appreciate hearing that!
Really love this project its going to be useful in many ways, and one is my 2 cats loving them I'm sure so I need to get busy thanks for another wonderful idear and project 💓
* giggle * Cats seem to love these baskets LOL!
Hi Kerri! Thank you for watching and subscribing! 😊
* giggle * don't be surprised if the new kittens take complete ownership of your new basket! They love these!
Hello! I'm on my second basket! I'm having a blast with this pattern!!! Thank you so much for sharing yourself and amazing ideas!
Hi Sherry, that's great! Thank you for watching :)
Hi Liz! That's awesome 😃
I love how that turned out I have a few things of verigated yarn and had no idea what to do with it now I do thank you Jayda :D
Pretty to look at and useful too! :)
Thank you.. made one out of 2 different colours of chunky yarn. X
Hi Christine, way to make it work! Thank you so much for spending some time with us :) Take care and stay safe!
