Resident evil 7's saferoom music takes me back to a relaxing summer night in 2017/2018 after spending some quality time with friends at an open bar. The warm temperature with the smooth rain falling on you is an almost spiritual level of relaxation.
It was 1:30am in 2016, and I'm playing re 1 remake. I enter the save room, and the music starts. My divorce was final. I didn't have the kids that week, so I am alone. I'm alone in my house for the first time in 16 years. No one is running upstairs. It's just me and this music. I'm terrified about the future, and I've never felt more alone. So I put the controller down and just sat there...listening to this song. Fifteen minutes go by, and I realize...I've got to go out that door. Yeah, I'm scared of what's out there, but I can't stay in here. Gear up, get yourself situated, and get your ass back out there and fight. And that's exactly what I did. This game, this song has done more for me than you'll ever know.
i feel like crying. i played this theme over and over when i was homeless. i don’t know how they make things like this. pain and sharp melancholy. they speak to something else completely
RE4 Serenity makes me feel safe. It fills me with an emotion of hope, not fear. I know the path that lies ahead will be tough, but for now, it’s just fine. RE7s save music sounds like you are afraid of what lies ahead and you know that you might die, but you are determined to carry on, no matter the injuries.
I remember getting RE4; it was 2005-2006, on Easter. My mom handed to my older brother, and he ran up to me while I was on the Gamecube. We both instantly forgot about the easter party downstairs and proceeded to play it all night
As soon as it came on I felt that nostalgia wave just hit like a truck. RE 4 is just the perfect Resident Evil in every way man, they hit their peak with that one. Soundtrack, visuals, story, boss fights, creativity, characters/personality, everything. Hitting that safe room after killing Verdugo raw dog with zero cryo tanks just washes all the sweat away lol
I can't go to sleep without hearing this... It's like life is on pause, you're all alone but the relaxing alone, the good alone, thinking about life beyond the body....Life would be nothing without music like this!
There's something special towards RE7's saferoom that always remind me the simpler time being a freshman in college. The month of Ramadhan usually filled with sunny hot day and I just enrolled in, it was sometime around June where me and my new roommates sitting on our college balcony waiting for the sun goes down to break our fast. I played this theme on our bluetooth speaker whenever we just sit down and talk, surprisingly they all vibe back since RE7 was pretty popular back in 2017, this theme making us all connect together up until our final semester, hearing it back making me miss those moments.
There is something simply magical about Re7's safe room and it is also very personal for me. You see, Re7 was my re-introduction into Resident Evil. When I was 5 years old in 2004, I went to my cousin's house every now and then with my grandpa's whenever my parents weren't available due to work and such. One day, my uncle sits me down in front of his TV, these old squared ones that emitted the low buzz and sharp beep that is only really audible when you turn it on via the huge clunky button under the screen. He booted up his PSX and said that there was a cool game I might be fond of. It was Resident Evil 2. I remember the playthrough with Claire, the song of the Police Station, the song of the Safe Room... The zombie groaning.... Then I never touched RE again but, oddly enough, I just couldn't get the whole subconscious ASMR RE left in me. Aesthetic, eerie feelings, music, scenarios, simplicity of a door opening, footseps echoing.. In the early days of TH-cam when the HUD looked as if made by someone in paint, I used to watch what I thought was "Resident Evil movies" which in fact, were all the already existent cinematics of Re0 and Re1 remake someone posted, but I didn't know that! Then I happened to stumble upon this NumaNumaRemake thing which haunted me for years as, coincidentally, my cousin and I bought the O-zone song Dragostea Din Tei which endorses the very theme of the whole NumaNumaRemake meme. Then around 8-9, I discovered Re4, again, began watching the whole playthrough but this time with a better notion about the fact that what I was seeing was someone playing and here comes the funny part 😂 One day upon hours of watching Re4 videos of Leon and such, my dad comes in and surprises me with a PS2 Re4 copy. I froze. Cuz I knew I liked it but I was gonna get my ass kicked. Which I did and shortly after the Village... Well, I stopped playing because I just couldn't go any further, Dr. Salvador kept killing me. When I began playing videogames more actively, I went through all the classics imaginable, from Gears to Halo, from Uncharted to Killzone, Resistance... But I never got around to play Resident Evil again Until in 2018 (19yrs old), when, I bought Re7 gold edition on sale. Suffice to say, I fell in love and automatically developed this Speedrun attitude and excitement toward challenge and memorization of strategy, ammo and resource management. Shortly after beating Re7 I simply bought all RE's and tore through them all, CGI movie's and CGI shows included. I even have the SD.Perry novels. All of this to say. Thank you uncle, thank you dad, thank you Resident Evil and your unique atmosphere and of course, thank you for reading this allowing me to share this piece of fandom with you, Stranger. (Heh,heh).
aw man this is so cool, I’m a younger fan but my dad grew up playing the games, and my first ever horror game was resident evil village, since then I’ve played through every single game + seen all the available animated shows. I’d love to eventually get novels, but I’m having trouble finding any in my local bookstores Lawll
Supercool. For me i got to know re exists when i was 13 but started interest at 21. I also feel like i just really heard the osts before but i know i didnt… especially cv moment of relief
for me it's the re1 remake save room theme... for so long i had to build up the courage to go through this game. even though i was older, braver, and had already finished quite a few horror games, there was something about the old re games that overcame me entirely. be it the distant cameras, the solemn atmosphere or the inexperience of the characters, the fear it evoked was unmatched by any other game. i played it living by myself during the pandemic, when this experience was rivalled by the fear of a lonely, cold, brute reality. living is scary :B
I can't explain why I feel so good listening to this! Maybe it's because I played RE for so many times during my childhood or even because entering the Safe Room was such a relief!
It's probably just the effects of the playlist itself because resident evil is a zombie shooting horror so not really relaxing but I understand your huge love for the resident evil games I've been playing them since i was a young boy they're amazing games
@@julio_farias yeah could be the soundtracks too because resident evil has always been very good in combining the scary ass games with calming relaxing soundtracks
And yeah childhood as you say because I don't know if you remember but the very first resident evil game on playstation 1 was so good and scary as hell at the same time i remember jumping behind the couch in les then 5 seconds because of the part where you walk a hallway with glass windows on both sides and them zombies come trough ( same resident evil you have to find 2 diamonds and put them in the eyes of a tiger Statue ) back then games we're actually really good now the graphics look good but the games themselves suck big-time
The Resident Evil 1 Remake save music hits me in the heart. I was a young teen when it came out… I had played the originals on PlayStation. I even played Code Veronica on Dream Cast but I had no idea how much I was about to have my mind blown. Thanks for the memories!
Okay, just had to take a break from studying to say this: I am so grateful for this playlist, because not only is it fantastic, might I add that it is extraordinary with headphones on, but it is literally the only thing actually helping me calm down before my two finals tomorrow morning. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
The save room music in the RE games is a unique moment that takes us to a secure and relaxing place in the space and time. For me, it has the same feeling that the lo-fi music: a peaceful instant in the middle of society's caos and desilusion. Maybe it's a sad thought, but is better than despair that most of the people are living. Thank you for the peace.
Never thought I'd meet another Sanderson fan here! Got my start on The Way of Kings. Haven't read Mistborn yet, but I intend to soon. I'm curious, what kind of playlist is it? I'd love to take a listen if you wouldn't mind sharing.
@@LTinator I too got started with the absolute unit of a book that is The Way of Kings! If you're enjoying the Stormlight Archive I highly recommend Mistborn. My playlist is just a collection of dark ambience and game soundtrack mixes. Stuff that helps me focus on my reading. I've made it public so feel free to give it a listen. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I do.
Both Mistborn and The Stormlight Archives series are so good that I'm surprised nobody tried to bring them to a big screen. I'd love to see at least one season of such show and I'd forgive any mistakes as long as the film makers would cut out Kabsal and his damned jam
I'll never forget the night I beat re7. It was August 2020, hot as all hell, and I had to transfer to a new school in a couple of weeks. I was in a playstation party with two of my closest friends, just shooting the shit and talking about whatever came to mind. It was one of my first horror games, so it was comforting to have their company. I went all the way from the Margaret fight to leaving the boat section with them. All the sudden, as I left, they slowly cut out, due to my god awful internet. I walked the muddy trail, alone for the first time in hours, only to stumble into a safe room. That was when I realized, hearing that eerie yet calming melody, that this was it, the final stretch. They had helped me get that far, and I was determined to finish it out that night. It stuck with me throughout the rest of my high school years, that when things got rough, I could rely on them, but overall it was up to me to go the distance, to finish it out, to end the night. I hope I never forget that night.
I hope that the peace that I am feeling now while listening to this playlist will be in effect tomorrow when I listen to it before my final exam tomorrow because this is one of 2 exams that I actually want to make a good grade in so that my final grade in the class is an A. I think it is too much to ask for. Idk, the teachers were just so good at their job that I feel like that if I do not make a good grade in their class it is like a slap to their face and like I am letting them down as if my grade was any indication as to how good they are as a teacher. I just want to make them proud. Good luck to everyone on their finals wherever you are!
My first RE game was Village, so I'm not as familiar to the first games of the series like most of the other people in the comments. Finding this video was a blessing, because now I do understand what people mean when they say that the OSTs of the first RE games had soul to them. I also think it's a bit of a pity that we don't hear traditional instruments in RE soundtracks anymore. Last but not least, I struggle a lot at focusing in general so this helps even during leisure reading. Thank you so much!
I've been playing this mix for months now while I'm sleeping and honestly it's just the best vibe ever, it's been helping me with my insomnia. We're having a real thunderstorm here today, so it will be perfect 💞
I’ve always loved Resident Evil, but RE7 got me back into the franchise. The excitement I had built up for that games release is indescribable and once I had it and I was playing it for the first time and I was in my dim candle lit room listening to the music before starting the story is a gamining memory I will never forget 🙏🏽
I don't know if anyone can relate but sometimes it's nice to have a safe room in real life nowadays.... Glad you all could make it here in one piece. 💾✌🏻
I always confuse Lachrymal (RE Code Veronica) for Kingdom Hearts whenever I'm zoned into my work, wonderful playlist. Always brings peace in such a unique way. Thank you!
The OG RE4 save theme brings back such memories. That's how I got into the series. I just remember my sister bringing this game in and popping it into our PS2. I played this game constantly and eventually got into the previous ones. Been in love with the series since. I'm so happy to see it rising in popularity again. It's very cool to see these remakes as well.
RE7 had that touch of eerie. you only felt safe for that brief moment knowing deeply you return to that narrow lonely house with its creaks and noises. entities lurking about
I remember back in 2018 I played RE7 after a long stressing shift at work but the game didn't stressed me like my real life. It was more of a "échappatoire" (in french) from the real world. It was an amazing experience, loved the puzzle, the horror and the Baker Familly.
this playlist has helped me out so much. It is my secret weapon while studying, relaxing, and a stress reliever. I am so thankful for this mix. If it goes down again please bring it back! 🧡
had one of the most intensely scary panic attacks of my life earlier this week and while I was desperately trying to think of a way to calm myself down, this video came to mind, and it was one of the only things that actually helped. kinda feels like it may have saved my life. so thank you for making this 💖
Man, I wish I could've experienced the older tracks for when these games released. They're great. These tracks are so atmospheric and nostalgic for so many I bet. RE4's safe room's music in particular alone was so calm, yet just encouraging enough to keep you going through the tense moments. Those moments, sound design and Leon's one liner's.... Sitting on the carpeted floor in the dark; just outside where you met the merchant for the first time, obtaining the rifle. Chapter 2. Just outside, a horde of enemies through the gates. TV bright and the wind loud as hell... Yeah, the remake hit hard, but there's nothing else quite as the relief of the sound of THAT bell back then.
I do a lot of writing and listen almost exclusively to RE and silent hill playlists when I do, and so far this is easily my fav. Thanks for putting these together and sharing them!
I am hugely and deeply grateful for whoever made this. This mix of nostalgia/safe feelings is on another level. I'm glad I thought about searching this. Must be buried deep in my subconscious. ❤❤❤ Love
Thank you so much for the amazing mix! I do a lot of physical work, and I often come home with a mostly broken body. When I finally get home, my small radio plays this mix and helps me truly relax. It's a simple thing, and some would think it's silly, but coming home to this mix tells my body that everything is okay.
This has helped me study and work so many times. Especially when I'm uneasy and anxious about something. Thanks for this compilation and Resident Evil is such a comfort place for me.
This is so beautifully made! It is smoothly mixed and my favorite is whenever save room music plays. It is so comforting. Love the ambience of the RE games so I appreciate this video so much! Just what I need to get me through this semester
From the day you uploaded this Video... I listen to this ambient every day and night before sleep. I had sleep issues like having disturbing thoughts. But every time I play this one all of them goes away. Thank you my friend
I've been listening to this mix for the past 2 years now once in a while, I love it sm and now it brings memories from the moments I lived and who I was when I listened to it months ago.
Thanks for reposting this mix. Every now and then I feel the need to chill to it , and deny that I wouldn't actually prefer to live in raccoon city trying to escape instead of where I am.
I absolutely love this mix! The combination of the ambient noises along with the selection of music makes this the perfect video to have playing in the background while I do schoolwork and reading.
Man when i was 8 or 9 me and my neighbour who was 2 years older played resident evil 3 on my dad's ps1. We beat the game in like 2 months playing every day. Good good days. The saferoom music still gives me the vibe to this day. i am almost 26 now.
I have never write a comment in this playlist but i need to tell you, thanks. For over 2 years i have listened this Master piece almost every day in my job ❤ it is just my trip to those calm days alone in my room.
It seems from the comments that your favorite one is directly linked to your age. The younger we were, the more we like them. I'm old so RE1 and RE2 themes are my favorites.
man i really enjoyed your set for this playlist, i'd like to ask if you can upload this playlist again but without the rain/storm ambience. I truly enjoy your work out there. thanks a bunch.
I remember in 8th grade Vanessa (goth girl) had re4 in her hand during break. I asked about it and she was nice enough to let me borrow it until I finished it. My favorite RE game.

the gym is your safe house. If you don't work out, start to do so
I always confuse Lachrymal (RE Code Veronica) for Kingdom Hearts whenever I'm zoned into my work, wonderful playlist. Always brings peace in such a unique way. Thank you!
This was my father and I's, favorite video song list; to chill out & chat too Late at night. Thank you for this & the memories
when this got taken down i died from the inside
when it got reuploaded i became alive again
god bless
The OG RE4 save theme brings back such memories. That's how I got into the series. I just remember my sister bringing this game in and popping it into our PS2. I played this game constantly and eventually got into the previous ones. Been in love with the series since. I'm so happy to see it rising in popularity again. It's very cool to see these remakes as well.
I adore this so much! Words can't describe what I'm feeling everytime RE music plays. The diversity of emotions. Simply beautiful ❤
I just had a pretty dramatic interaction with my boss and this is just what I need to calm down, thanks again Cry Cafe!
You mean Mr X 😂😅
Lachrymal sounds so lovely with the rain sounds.
Thank you for this playlist! It's great to study to, especially in the evenings.
RE7 had that touch of eerie. you only felt safe for that brief moment knowing deeply you return to that narrow lonely house with its creaks and noises. entities lurking about
My heart sank when these disappeared
I remember back in 2018 I played RE7 after a long stressing shift at work but the game didn't stressed me like my real life. It was more of a "échappatoire" (in french) from the real world. It was an amazing experience, loved the puzzle, the horror and the Baker Familly.
i am sorry that you are french stay strong my man
this playlist has helped me out so much. It is my secret weapon while studying, relaxing, and a stress reliever. I am so thankful for this mix. If it goes down again please bring it back! 🧡
Dawns Never Fails To Come makes my heart ache, but it's a bitter sweet feeling.
i fall asleep to this on an extremely regular basis tysm
I respect you for reuploading this even if it gets taken down again (idk if it actually got taken down). Such a good mix!
Yes, I was using web archive to listen to it when it got taken down.
@@limabean2184 wait, you can do that?!
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who listens to soundtracks from video games lol
the ambience is perfect, the synergy and the order of tracks and how they fade is *chefs kiss*
had one of the most intensely scary panic attacks of my life earlier this week and while I was desperately trying to think of a way to calm myself down, this video came to mind, and it was one of the only things that actually helped. kinda feels like it may have saved my life. so thank you for making this 💖
This is one of the mixes I'd sleep to. Thank you for bringing it back.
The music in these games are top notch especially the classic re games 1,2,3 code Veronica
I have been listening to this for three years, and I still love it
I do a lot of writing and listen almost exclusively to RE and silent hill playlists when I do, and so far this is easily my fav. Thanks for putting these together and sharing them!
I can say, without a doubt, that your mixes and playlists are the best on youtube. My boring homework is not so boring with your videos
I really love this compilation of music. Even I downloaded it.
Thanks 🖤✨
say it with me: this playlist will get me a passing grade this playlist will get me a passing grade this playlist will get me a passing grade
I hope it will, but I feel like I'll fail
save me Ambient & Relaxing Resident Evil Music (w⧸ Rain & Storm Ambience) [Reupload]
save me
Thanks OP, for putting time stamps in the description.
7:00 got me like " Got some rare things on sale stranger..." What are you buyin? ".. hehe
I was wondering where this went for a second, thanks for reuploading your mixes!
Each safe theme carries a specific moment based on the time they released in our lives
I don't know how you feel about this, but a lot of people can relax and sleep because of your videos, me too, thank you very much :)
I was panicking when this disappeared from my playlist. I’m so glad you reposted thank you so much!!!!
I listen to these tracks everyday cuz I’m stressed out
Thank you so much for this. This videogame saga marked my life.
Thanks for reposting this mix.
Every now and then I feel the need to chill to it , and deny that I wouldn't actually prefer to live in raccoon city trying to escape instead of where I am.
This really helps me be focus while studying 😊
I absolutely love this mix! The combination of the ambient noises along with the selection of music makes this the perfect video to have playing in the background while I do schoolwork and reading.
I didn't even realize the original got taken down. Very sad
Thanks for reposting!
Still my fav Resident Evil game. What a beautiful game it was to look at.
Took me back to 2001. Man, I miss the simplicity of life back then. Wish I would've been...more...more me. Good time to visit. Terrible time to stay.
man, there's something about ada's theme thats just so fuckin relaxing. makes it the best thing to listen to when im studying ngl
I'm not into RE but honestly this is one of the best playlists I've ever heard.
Love this playlist, I've been listen to it for about a year, almost everyday.❤
Man when i was 8 or 9 me and my neighbour who was 2 years older played resident evil 3 on my dad's ps1. We beat the game in like 2 months playing every day. Good good days. The saferoom music still gives me the vibe to this day. i am almost 26 now.
I broke down crying because I started having flashbacks. God please take the memory away.
Resident evil's osts really hit differently their songs are masterpiece after another
I have never write a comment in this playlist but i need to tell you, thanks.
RE2's save room theme, aka "Secure Place" remains undefeated.
Lachrymal defeats it, try listening to it.
I'm so glad this is back! This is the only resident evil Playlist I can listen to when I need to study.
been almost a year gotta thank you again for this cause it's pulled me thru summer semester studying lol
man re7 was so good, gotta replay that one sometime
1:05:04 - Secure Place (RE2) sounds like some TV drama finale to me lmao can't unhear this
man i really enjoyed your set for this playlist, i'd like to ask if you can upload this playlist again but without the rain/storm ambience. I truly enjoy your work out there. thanks a bunch.
I remember in 8th grade Vanessa (goth girl) had re4 in her hand during break. I asked about it and she was nice enough to let me borrow it until I finished it. My favorite RE game.
This is a gem of a playlist great job 👍🏻 👌🏻
The video when I go back to TH-cam homepage:
"Come back anytime."
That After Rock Attack theme from RE1 is so mysterious.
Thanks for reupload, cant focus without it xD
Thank you brother for the re-upload. Found this quite some time ago and felt in love with it.
Nice. This will make my CAD project less boring.
I love this mix as well as the photo you've chosen for it. Spectacular taste
