this made me goosebump, i never played silent hill in those old days coz i was born in 2001, but i remember my godfather playing SH2 while i was watching him as a kid, and i remember seeing him play at late night hours in bed haha, good times

I think that sometimes dark music is more relaxing. It’s nice to be able to chill and not force yourself to be happy. The world is messed up and you’re tired, but you can just be content where you’re at for a moment while you recollect yourself.
It makes you feel like you live in a neo-noir film and after witnessing some fk-ed up sht, you're back at home trying to have some time not thinking about it.
As long as we don't stay here too long homie. id find myself listening to this genre when I'm alone studying but yes it's healthy to have recollection moments get up and move forward again
all of Angela's lines in that game always resonate with me. I think she is probably one of my favorite video game characters of all time, because she feels so real, so relatable.

I tell you the secret. You have to listen to alot of music and find inspiration there. Then you experiment alot doing your own stuff. You do that 10 years and you get to make music like this. A bit of a natural inclination to making music does help as well.
And poignant!,i have to say when i spoke with Angela orozco and she climbed the stairs after all you know about her at that point in the game it makes you sad and that scene when James is talking to his wife and tells him "James if that is true then why are you so sad?" And the music is so sentimental....i cried a bit😂! Don't blame me the game is so damn good! My favorite in the series es "Restless dreams"😊👌scary as hell!

I love seeing a community bonding over this music. When I was in the 2nd grade, I listened to this stuff alongside normal music. I've always had a strong emotional connection with this game, even 10 years later now graduating high school. Nostalgia and all, Silent Hill 2 remains one of the most memorable games I have ever played.

But alas, Konami decided to rush the game several times during it's development, making it the half-baked mess with some good ideas that it is.
Locnix kinda wish the community was into modding! Or make a fan made silent hill from scratch! I seen some gaming communities that actually made games way better than the commercial release! Like the halo community! It’s amazing on what 7 years of development can achieve without any interference by a studio fuckhead tryna take control. Or tryna make money from it! There is just something so magical about these songs and they soothe my soul in a way that no other music can, which is the last thing that one would expect from a horror game...
It's a sort of ambient blank space. I think it's something to do with how horror soundtracks want you to be hyper-focused so you pick up all the details in game which are horrifying, which makes them perfect music for any brutal work haul requiring intense focus

i've played sh2 for the first time in 2016 and the story, sounds, ost left a lasting impression. literally lingers in my mind. a proper remake for the first 4 SHs would be stellar, not likely to ever happen though :( .
It's been more than a year that I'm listening to this playlist every night and then when I'm not felling the best or just want to relaxe. I just wanted to express how much I love this mix and how it helped me (even if it's not that much) when I needed it. It's still to this day, my favorite mix of silent hill and I think will stay for a long time. The choice and the placement of each songs is perfect and the last song "she will usher in the eternal Paradise" hit hard, as it was supposed to be, and it's the best end I could have think of if I was making it. I played this during my trip to Wisconsin. There was one day where everything as so foggy, I went out to fish and listen to this on the pier. Felt like I was alone. Creepy yet somewhat relaxing
Every time I hear theh SH:2 soundtrack, I'm taken back in time, times I miss. Simple living, going to my friends house, playing games, watching movies. I remember when he got this game for the PS2.
The Silent Hill series has always had the most richest, immersive and fascinating soundtracks in video games ever. And the fact that Akira Yamaoka can fluctuate back and forth with these tracks from peaceful to melancholic to soulful to devastating and to being downright nightmarish at times is just extraordinary.
I really don;'t know if you still check this as it was made in 2018 and here I am in 2020. My friend sent me this after hearing that I've had an extremely bad day (some super bad mental health stuff) and she knows I adore Silent Hill a lot and sent me this. SH3 was never a game Team Silent in japan wanted to make. they were basically forced to make a sequel that connects to SH1. their original concept for the game was far more closer to how SH2 was.

Hey dude, just wanted to say thanks for this brilliant playlist. Its telling how, after so many years, passionate fans are still sharing their love for these games. I played Silent Hill 2 & 3 for the first time myself this Summer and I know now why they're so well loved. Even if Konami can't appreciate the series, the original games and the community around them will always carry on.

This makes me nostalgic for 2012-2013 so much. Back then I was only in middle school but I got my hands on Silent Hill Downpour (yes I know it's not popular but it still holds a special place in my heart as my first Silent Hill game). I remember just endlessly exploring the rainy streets and being amazed and frightened by every new area and monsters that came my way. It took me so long to beat the game since I was still only a kid, but when I finally finished the game, it felt like a chapter in my life was ending. I will always remember you Monocle Man!

This playlist and also RE saferoom music is wonderful for me. I have really bad depression and anxiety, and Actually calm or cheerful music just doesn't work for me sometimes. It feels fake. I can't believe that things are or will be okay. But being from horror games, these tracks, as relaxing as they are, have a hint of danger behind them. They aren't saying everything is okay. They're saying that its okay to take a breather from the undeniable danger. And that...really helps

Such soulful and beautiful music. It's almost hard to believe it's from a horror series, since it makes me feel a mixture of nostalgia, sadness and relaxation. Akira Yamoaka was simply a genius of music composition. In my opinion his work on the first few Silent Hill games is the greatest music of any video game series in history.
Never would have thought you could put together a playlist of SH music that could be described as "Relaxing", but this is definitely proof you can. I have this video bookmarked for whenever I'm doing homework, writing, even often when having difficultly sleeping. Much nostalgia from playing these games back when plus just a well-made mix front to back. Absolutely love it.

I tell you the secret. You have to listen to alot of music and find inspiration there. Then you experiment alot doing your own stuff.
You do that 10 years and you get to make music like this. A bit of a natural inclination to making music does help as well.
And poignant!,i have to say when i spoke with Angela orozco and she climbed the stairs after all you know about her at that point in the game it makes you sad and that scene when James is talking to his wife and tells him "James if that is true then why are you so sad?" And the music is so sentimental....i cried a bit😂! Don't blame me the game is so damn good! My favorite in the series es "Restless dreams"😊👌scary as hell!

I love seeing a community bonding over this music. When I was in the 2nd grade, I listened to this stuff alongside normal music. I've always had a strong emotional connection with this game, even 10 years later now graduating high school. Nostalgia and all, Silent Hill 2 remains one of the most memorable games I have ever played.

@@noaccount4 I am doing the exact same thing right now. The Silent Hill 2 and 3 soundtracks got me through law school and are my constant companion as I race towards finishing my PhD thesis. There is just something so magical about these songs and they soothe my soul in a way that no other music can, which is the last thing that one would expect from a horror game...
It's a sort of ambient blank space. I think it's something to do with how horror soundtracks want you to be hyper-focused so you pick up all the details in game which are horrifying, which makes them perfect music for any brutal work haul requiring intense focus

I just wanted to express how much I love this mix and how it helped me (even if it's not that much) when I needed it. It's still to this day, my favorite mix of silent hill and I think will stay for a long time. The choice and the placement of each songs is perfect and the last song "she will usher in the eternal Paradise" hit hard, as it was supposed to be, and it's the best end I could have think of if I was making it.

I played this during my trip to Wisconsin. There was one day where everything as so foggy, I went out to fish and listen to this on the pier. Felt like I was alone. Creepy yet somewhat relaxing
Every time I hear theh SH:2 soundtrack, I'm taken back in time, times I miss. Simple living, going to my friends house, playing games, watching movies. I remember when he got this game for the PS2.
The Silent Hill series has always had the most richest, immersive and fascinating soundtracks in video games ever. And the fact that Akira Yamaoka can fluctuate back and forth with these tracks from peaceful to melancholic to soulful to devastating and to being downright nightmarish at times is just extraordinary.

SH3 was never a game Team Silent in japan wanted to make. they were basically forced to make a sequel that connects to SH1. their original concept for the game was far more closer to how SH2 was.

I played Silent Hill 2 & 3 for the first time myself this Summer and I know now why they're so well loved. Even if Konami can't appreciate the series, the original games and the community around them will always carry on.

This makes me nostalgic for 2012-2013 so much. Back then I was only in middle school but I got my hands on Silent Hill Downpour (yes I know it's not popular but it still holds a special place in my heart as my first Silent Hill game). I remember just endlessly exploring the rainy streets and being amazed and frightened by every new area and monsters that came my way. It took me so long to beat the game since I was still only a kid, but when I finally finished the game, it felt like a chapter in my life was ending. I will always remember you Monocle Man!
It's funny, these songs that once made me scared and nervous, now confort me.
The memories of a 6 years old me, playing Silent Hill 2 on a cozy night, are just priceless, what once felt like just another day in our lives, now are a precious past, which many of us would like to return to.

This playlist and also RE saferoom music is wonderful for me. I have really bad depression and anxiety, and Actually calm or cheerful music just doesn't work for me sometimes. It feels fake. I can't believe that things are or will be okay.
But being from horror games, these tracks, as relaxing as they are, have a hint of danger behind them. They aren't saying everything is okay. They're saying that its okay to take a breather from the undeniable danger. And that...really helps

as my year as a college sophomore begins, and i return to the world of late nights with my nose in a PDF, i'm glad to have this mix.
Such soulful and beautiful music. It's almost hard to believe it's from a horror series, since it makes me feel a mixture of nostalgia, sadness and relaxation. Akira Yamoaka was simply a genius of music composition. In my opinion his work on the first few Silent Hill games is the greatest music of any video game series in history.
Dropped everything I was doing when, "Laura Plays The Piano" played, that song hits me like a truck even after so many years.
Never would have thought you could put together a playlist of SH music that could be described as "Relaxing", but this is definitely proof you can. I have this video bookmarked for whenever I'm doing homework, writing, even often when having difficultly sleeping. Much nostalgia from playing these games back when plus just a well-made mix front to back. Absolutely love it.
