I had watched another video and ordered my rods. I started the process, but when I got to the back rods, I was really struggling. Took a break and saw your video with the 3 boards. OMG ! I'm a 69 year old female and weigh 110. Without your little trick, I know I couldn't have gotten it done. Thank you so much !

You saved me so much money friend. Thank you!
Helpful tip: use the old suspension rod you pulled out, and snake it through the hole to grab the hook of the new suspension rod to make it easier to pull up. Once you reach the top add the clip, hold the new rod to keep it still and pull out the old rod. Made this replacement so easy.

Thank you, I bought the OEM parts locally here in Orlando for my Maytag, purchased the set for $96.00. Followed the video guidance, reset the computer, and bingo, it works!! I think the reset was a big help too, it seems to cycle better now. Only downside is my girlfriend and I have to find a new to place to rendezvous now that the machine doesn't rock and roll so much. 🙂

Glad to help. If it’s still banging around after new suspension, it probably is the outer drum has separated from the inner drum. There’s a new part that can fix that but it’s a more difficult fix.

So today I replaced my inlet valve and once everything was hooked up, I did the calibration test and it sounded like my washing machine was getting beaten like a drum. Once it was done, i opened up the lid and saw that the drum was off center. One of the rods fell off because the plastic circle piece that holds it up top snapped in half. It was the back left rod. Will this be a pain in the ass to replace? You make it look easy, but I’ve never done it before lol

Put new rods in, bought medium priced ones, did not help one bit. Bought the special grease and applied it to the old rods and swapped them. That worked for several months. Bought some high density foam and stuffed a 12 x 6 x 6 inch piece in two opposite corners near the bottom of the drum. That absorbs some of the motion until enough water gets spun out. Working so far.

I have a Kenmore that is about 20 yrs old . Top loader of course. Basket moves like crazy on stuff like jeans, even tho, I onlyput 2 pair along with t shirts and I have even pulled them out during the first spin and reloaded what I thought was evenly to help. it's just not round and round, but side to side in ALL directions. Suspension Rods on this too possibly? As you know there are no lights, just good old turn knobs. I don't want one of those crappy new ones that won't let me open it w/out it stopping and staring over again. In fact, mine will run full cycle w/the lid open. Thanks

The suspension rods never wear out, it is the dampers on the suspension rods that wear out. I replaced my dampers with rubber fuel line the ID and OD worked out perfectly. Also you can test your suspension rod dampers by pushing down on the tub and then releasing quickly to see if it bounces more than once, if it does your dampers are starting to wear out or have already worn out. And continued use with bad dampers will cause your hub to also go bad.
