That simple excise at the start is such a blessing. I’m a former boxer who’s been getting into mma and have been really frustrated trying to figure out how to get my hips to become comfortable kicking any higher than a body kick, kind of surprised now one’s showed me this yet. You’re a legend, cheers
Just to help the people a little bit more. If your lead hand drops down you will tend to be off balance and your upper body posture will be bad. Try to keep your left hand at your right shoulder while turning/twisting. This way you will be able to keep your posture upright. And also keep your kicking leg close to the standing one. You should turn with the help of your hip right before u hit the target. Otherwise the kick is too paragraphed. Think of it the same as for the roundhouse kick. You always want to confuse ur opponent. He doenst know if u will do a Frontkick, teep, questionmark kick or roundhouse kick if you turn in the last moment. Hopefully i made it somewhat clear what i mean...
Thanks, that was helpful indeed, the hands part I mean. I was teaching the kaiten do (roolong thunder) to my Muay Thai friend who has labyrinthitis and couldn't figure a way to do so. Since I first teach the ushiro mawashi (spinning hook) as a base, I looked for videos of tips because he couldn't figure how to do so without missing the target heavily.
Impressive! This guy does the best taekwondo spinning hook kick I've ever seen! " Way to go man! You could easily knock someone out with that baby! Whooha! Ough!
Mobi Bruh, you should wait and have your master teach you. It’s better and they’ll be able to help you and correct when you’re doing it wrong. Unless you’re not even taking martial arts then, don’t hurt yourself and ALWAYS pivot on the ball of your foot
a little confused! initial steps showed its a combination spin, then side kick, then hook...but the last few spin kicks that were in full flow, did not demo the side kick...it was one single loop...without sidekick. which one is correct?
The side kick doesn't matter in the spinning hook kick. The only reason why he demonstrated the side kick was because spinning hook kicks, and side kicks use the same chamber. The only reason why he showed the side kick was to help people get used to the chamber, and balance that comes with the spinning hook kick. I hope this answers your question. If you still need explanation, I will happily provide.
Jack Karran from a green belt in taekwondo I can tell you it takes months of practice which involve doing cardio then doing these kicks hundreds of times. And stretching a lot for your front , side splits, but what I have been told from simon kicker who is an amazing taekwondo master is that you have to stretch all parts of your body and make everything flexible to be able to make you legs groin calfes back abdomen flexible for these kicks, simon kicker is a very flexible guy and highly recommend him if you're looking at flexibility to improve but from my own TKD coach he says you have to practice and practice your kicks and combos, for the spinning hook kick you need your roundhouse kick (dollyo chagi) push kick (meereo chagi) and your hook kick (huryeo chagi) and it will make the spinning hook kick easier
Bill Cross you don't need experience to get flexible tbh you just need to know how to do it and in a month you'd complete it and I doubt anyone fully read your comment
@@lfozzie I don't know man, but my legs used to do it so soft and my body used to be straight when I threw the kick. I had marvelous flexibility skills but I lost it and when I do it now, my body turns to the side. And the spinning is slow...
If you're not yet flexible enough, you can train the spinning hook kick to the back leg. Andy Hug style: th-cam.com/video/l7szHaw_cfE/w-d-xo.html That way, you can train your spin at least.
The tssh is a method to Control your breathing so you can carry onto further rounds/get power without getting gassed out quickly and use all of your air, the habit is really helpful any time you throw a hard punch, you let out a small amount of air as you make contact so you don't spill out all your oxygen with a huge exhale causing you to huff and puff and tire out like at the end of a sprint, the purpose is to bottle up your oxygen and ration it out with each punch then inhale through your nose and repeat, it's really not hard to understand but I'm baked and you needed to know this for some reason.
The most brtual TUF knockout of all time: Uriah Hall hook kicks Adam Cella into oblivion: th-cam.com/video/Bj3xL9zoY1M/w-d-xo.html Notice how he bends the leg, because he knows he is too close for a fully extended kick. Next. Level. Shit.
I don't believe he has ever thrown one in Glory, which tells you how good his other skills must be that he doesn't feel that this kick is up to par with the rest of his abilities.
VinylUnboxings hes supposed to hook his kick at the last second, you can see the kick from a mile away to a regular taekwondo practitioner and he'll block it if you hook your kick the way he does
VinylUnboxings kind of like a back kick to the face but you hook it instead of hitting with your heel, you want to release your kick at the last second for extra impact
You're very generous to be giving out all of this advice for free. Thank you!
it's because he knows it's not worthwhile unless taught under the right tutelage.

The stuff Joe is talking about early on is very reminiscent of Bill Wallace. Same training process
He looks like Gabriel Rosado
thanks
Thank you vero much
Thanks 👍.
Get caught with this kick. And it's usually Goodnight Irene.
good video ty
muay thai is best
If you are having trouble with balance practice one legged footwork drills
How do you develop that kind of flexibility?

If you have developed your muscles in a short range, as most people do, it becomes very difficult if not impossible to recover that flexibility.
Is that my Team UMAC brother there in the blue? Lol
Nice.
I mastered this kick but I now forgot how.
So you didnt master it then
@@lfozzie I don't know man, but my legs used to do it so soft and my body used to be straight when I threw the kick. I had marvelous flexibility skills but I lost it and when I do it now, my body turns to the side. And the spinning is slow...
You used the term “mastered” very lightly.
Awesomee
you say to look first before kicking but once you do it in full speed you dont look yourself, can you explain or does it just look like you dont.
jeeboy25 1 he's definitely looking out of his peripheral vision. This is 2nd nature in Taekwondo.
the step over its a very big tell.
Step is to learn it the kick and balance. When u get more advanced you should be able to spin without it.

Hey joe, what’s the best example in a fight you’ve seen of this kick? Awesome content by the way. 👌
Edson Barboza has to be my no.1

Jose Mendez Lando Vannatta hit one beautifully.
Maybe this one? th-cam.com/video/gG71jM1Wx2w/w-d-xo.html (you can find the full fight with ease if you want) Cheers!
Shriniketh Barboza's was a spinning wheel kick, much different and easier to land than a spinning hook kick.
Real life jean claude van damme shit
Y joe always wearing shoes?
Adnan Steady I always say that, it's stupid. He's meant to be a kick boxer but never wants to train how he fights, I don't get it.
Johnny Cage im nt hatin or it but juz abit confused on y he is wearing shoes on some of his vids.i love joe tho
He does it to piss you off
I think he said its for grip
thats his uniform dickhead
I don't believe he has ever thrown one in Glory, which tells you how good his other skills must be that he doesn't feel that this kick is up to par with the rest of his abilities.
This great if you are great at it. Stick to thai boxing so you don't get your head jumped on.
Poor balance poor balance poor technique and poor power. This guy talks way too much and can't even deliver a solid performance.
@Jame Bond Hahahahaha that's funny
@Jame Bond proper grammar would have been use to not used to. Furthermore, if that's true how sad.
@@sirbubbles5506 You gay as hell.
